4 SYSTEM OVERVIEW Envira-North Systems Ltd. is a manufacturer and distributor of energy efficient ventilation products. Our line of fans, turbines and curtains can improve the level of comfort in a building while lowering energy consumption. The products of Envira-North are uniquely efficient; but did you know that all of these products work together to create one exceptionally effective system? Custom designed for each application, we utilize our products as components to develop a system that not only provides a solution but maximizes saving potential to increase your return on investment. Climate control in any building is always a challenging task. Trying to cool people can be especially difficult and expensive. Utilizing Altra-Air HVLS fan technology, creates a non disruptive breeze that provides a natural cooling effect for the occupants below. Even better yet, when supplemental cooling is already available in your space our Altra-Air HVLS fans maximize performance and allow the operator to increase the temperature set point and generate significant energy savings. 4

5 In areas with exessive heat, circulation of warm air will not provide any relief; exhausting hot, stale contaminated air is now necessary. Bringing in fresh air at ground level, through open doors, windows or louvres and exhausting the unwanted air through our Hurricane Turbines TM, allows the Altra-Air HVLS fans to effectively provide cooling. Altra-Air Fans Not every building is the same as all spaces face unique challenges. Separating and containing spaces without negatively effecting the process underneath can be very beneficial to the building operator. Preventing the undesirable air from migrating with our line of industrial curtains allows each product to concentrate on a specific task to maximize its performance and minimize capital investment. When heating is the challenge, our systems adapt. Simply close the louvres to limit air ingress, roll up the industrial curtains to allow process heat to migrate and damper Hurricane Turbines TM to minimize exhaust; allow the process heat to migrate and our Altra-Air fans to distribute it evenly throughout the space. MOVING AIR WITH STYLE Jazz Fan s unique blade design makes it possible to move more air; quietly and in style. Jazz moves 45,000 CFM with a max noise level of 39dBA. Covering an area of 260 m 2 (2,800 ft 2 ), the Jazz fan meets the highest of industry standards in all categories of form and function. 6

7 JAZZ FAN S UNIQUE BLADE DESIGN Traditional airfoils (or blades) are linear in design and produce greater noise at a particular frequency. Using varying points on the leading edge of the blade spreads the noise or acoustic signature over a greater range of frequencies, virtually eliminating any noise. As a fan rotates, the tip of a blade spins faster than the fixed point or centre creating pockets of minimal air movement directly underneath the fan. The Jazz Fan blade design tackles this challenge with a varying degree angle of attack, never before seen in our industry. Ranging from 6 (tip) to 14 at its greatest point, the Jazz Fan diminishes the resistance against each blade maximizing air movement and minimizing power consumption. 8 ALTRA-AIR HVLS FANS OVERVIEW Altra-Air HVLS fans blanket a very large area with constantly moving air to create an expansive comfort zone. As a result, the big ceiling fan can create an evaporative cooling effect of three to four degrees Celsius throughout the facility. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Fans range from 2.4 to 7.3 m (8 to 24 ) in diameter. Capable of moving nearly 188,000 l/s (397,701 CFM). Operates on 0.75 to 1.5 kw (1 HP to 2 HP). Variable frequency drive provides soft start and full variable speed operation. Creates a non-disruptive airflow. 13 ECOPOWER TURBINE VENTILATORS In cold climates, heat loss is a major concern. Optional dampers are available to provide operators with the ability to stop air flow and keep heat inside the facility. Ecopower utilizes an electronic commutating (EC) motor installed in the head of the ventilator to enable motorized boost during periods of low wind speed or special ventilation needs. The ecopower ventilator has no motor or blades in the throat of the vent. This is extremely important as research has shown that any obstruction in the throat of a wind ventilator will greatly decrease vent performance under wind load. The bearing system of the motor becomes the bearing system of the ventilator. This means that the vent can be free spinning under wind load or power activated as conditions require. 13

15 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS ABSOLUTE AIR FANS If your facility won t accommodate an Altra-Air HVLS ceiling fan, consider the Absolute Air fan. This fan creates a directional air flow of extreme velocity that cools all facility inhabitants, controls insects, keeps floors dry and improves employee comfort. The Absolute Air s airfoil deflectors are adjustable allowing better use of the airflow. One Absolute Air fan will replace four large single speed panel-aisle fans or up to eight 36 basket fans while it only uses half of the power during operation. The fans have an optional variable speed frequency drive that will allow its use throughout the entire year. 80,000 cfm at high speed including entrained air and 36 cfm/watt.
