The bigger the particles are the less they become airborne (depending on type and composition). The weight of the particles has no bearing on this. If the particles are very small, as for example with metal dust types, the dust remains permanently suspended in the air and does not settle. The degree of danger from dust particles depends largely on the size of the particles and their chemical composition. Limit values Occupational limit values are defined as the maximum concentration of a contaminant in the air at the workplace. On Page 3 you will find an overview of the most common dust types together with the corresponding application categories (Test Certificates). In most cases the dust is captured directly through a suitable outlet on the processing machine and routed through an extraction hose or pipe to the dust collector. If the machine has no connection port for extract ing the dust other elements such as hoods and extraction arms will be utilized to capture the dust. Product Overview Mobile dust extractors of the DUSTOMAT series are more economical than a central dust collection system and are recommended for frequently changing extraction locations within the production plant. Because of their compact design they are easy to move and are flexible in their use. This class of equipment includes the models DUSTOMAT- 10, 15 and 16. If several locations require dust extraction simultaneously and the flexibility of a mobile extractor is needed we recommend the more powerful models DUSTOMAT T and P Series. Our DUSTOVAC models are mobile high vacuum dust extractors. They are suitable for special applications requiring precise dust extraction on one or multiple processing machines. Due to their high negative pressure these models can transport even heavier particles over longer distances. Integrated impact separator Coarse particles are pre-separated and fall directly into the collection container. Only the remaining dust enters the filter cartridges, which lengthens their service life. Controls The devices most important functions are called up with the simple push of a button and are displayed in plain text. The control panel can be supplied in several languages. The collected dust on the outside of the cartridge filter is literally blown off by the powerful pulses of compressed air and drops down into the collection container. Automatic Fire Extinguishing System The COMPEX dust extractor can be equipped with an automated CO 2 -fire extinguishing system that monitors the filter chamber of the extractor. The dust or fumes are extracted through the extraction arm with a fan and discharged (for example to the outside) without filtration. The purpose is to transport the exhaust air to a different area inside or outside the building. First, the cyclonic force pre-separates the heavier particles contained in the extracted air mixture.
