3 Pall Rings The cross section presented to the flowing water has no clear path through; all the water is diverted over the PALL rings. The increased surface area and hydrofoil action of the PALL rings allow further pockets of lower pressure to develop accelerating the de-aeration process and promoting coalescence (micro bubbles merging into larger more buoyant bubbles) on the large stainless steel surface area of the PALL rings. The automatic air vent on the top of the unit is then used to vent the larger bubbles to atmosphere. This unit also utilises a sump / sludge trap. As water borne debris hits the Pall rings the forward momentum is lost, the debris is then free to fall into the sludge trap ready for manual venting at a later stage. Installation & placement JAD1 De-aerator The JD1 should preferably be installed in the hottest part of the system, (typically the flow pipe from the heat exchanger). The JD1 should also preferably be situated on the suction side of the circulating pump to take advantage of the localised pressure drop. JDS3 Dirt Separator The JDS3 should preferably be situated on the suction side of the circulating pump and on the inlet to the heat exchanger to take best protect these items of equipment from debris build-up. Where to install (JD1 & JAD2) For the unit to be effective it must be installed at the hottest point in the system. The maximum static head should be <15m on heating systems and <5m on chilled system for the greatest efficiency. Manufacture guarantee Jet range de-aerators and dirt separators are covered by a 3 year guarantee. Flushing is recommended immediately prior to handover, then periodically depending on site condition. Flushing must only be carried out within the normal design characteristics and max. flow rate should not be exceeded. 6 Dosing Pots Dosing pots are required in order to feed liquid chemicals, such as corrosion inhibitors into closed systems. The dosing pots consist of a steel vessel fitted with inlet and outlet valves, a drain valve and a filling valve/steel tundish arrangement, an air bleed valve and wall mounting brackets. Jet range dosing pots are supplied in three standard sizes: 3.5, 6.0 and 16.0 litre capacity. Other sizes are available on request. This is best achieved by connecting across the main flow/return pipework. Ideally, the flow (hot) connection should be made to the bottom of the dosing pot and the return (cold) to the top. Maintenance No routine maintenance is required. Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC Dosing Pots conform to the requirements of Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC, being CE marked where permitted or designed and manufactured according to Sound Engineering Practice (S.E.P). Operation 1. Isolate dosing pot - close all valves. 2. Drain dosing pot - open valve D followed by valves A and E. 3. Charge dosing pot - close valve D and introduce solution via valve A until liquid appears from valve E. 4. Inject treatment - close valve A and E then FULLY OPEN valve C, followed by valve B.
