3 SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS 42CE fan coil unit is designed to provide safe and reliable service when operated within designed specifications. For the reasons of working pressure, connection wiring and equipment, the unit should be touched especially for experienced installing and maintenance workers. It is required to comply with the safety considerations on the nameplate, along with precautions that is suitable for the unit. Comply with all the safety specifications Take care when moving, assembling and installing. WARNING 1. Watch carefully of the connection wiring diagram behind the wiring box and follow the steps suggested in this instruction. 2. To avoid inter-disturbing within motors, do not connect two or more different units into one control. 3. The coils should be drained any residual water blown out to prevent coil freeze-ups in winter. An anti-freeze should be added to the coil. 4. Shutdown the unit and get in touch with the service agency of our company when abnormal working, do not dismount privately. Fig 1

4 INSTALLATION 1. Remove all the protective covering. 2. Fasten the unit according to the papers. 3. Lift the unit to the celling. 4. Fasten the unit on the ceiling with 4 10mm bolts, nuts and washers. Check the horizontal condition for well water drain. Fig 2 PIPING CONNECTIONS 1. Product all the piping connected units comply with the national and other standards. 2. Connecting supply and return water piping. 3. Connecting condensate drain piping. THERMAL INSULATION MATREIAL 1. All the supply and return water piping must be heat preserved including the inner tubes and condensate plate in the unit. 2. All the discharge and return water piping must be heat preserved. WIRING CONNECTIONS 1. Watch carefully to the connecting map and comply with the national and local standards. 2. Check the voltage in the installed position. 3. Take off the shell of the control box connect power to the power leads 5&6 according to the connecting map. 4. Connect the control lines 1 2 3&6 to the terminal switch. 5. Make sure that all the connections are correct. 6. Be ground connection. 7. Voltage at the unit operation must be %. It will cause difficulty of start-up and the damage of motor if the voltage is too low.

5 OPERATION Before start-up, blow off all the air in coil through the air vent valve. The air in tube will result the reduction of the capacity and the abnormal noise in the coil. (Fig 3) FAN Fig 4 Unit has 3-speed choosing switch: H is high, M is middle, L is low, and also with OFF. SERVICE Air Filter Take off the filter under the front panel. Clean or replace then every 6 months, shorten the period of necessary. Clean the filters with vacuum cleaner or soap solution. Rinse and allow them to dry before re-installing. Condensing Drain: Make periodic check, clear up when have block. CHANGE WATER PIPING OPENINGS 1. Remove cover panel, change 180 horizontally. 2. Remove discharge palings and shell panel (cabinet model). 3. Install control panel on the opposite side and connect the motor wires to the switch of binding posts. Fig 5 MAINTENANCE IN WINTER Take anti-freeze measurements when put the unit in the environment where temperature below freezing point.

6 Service Clause 1. Quality Assurance Carrier s promises: (1). In the warranty period, Carrier is responsible to repair freely within the warranty scope. (2). The free warranty period is the 18 months since the invoice has been billed or the 12 months since the Carrier personnel have been entrusted to make commissioning. (3). The free warranty period is in accordance with the earlier expired period of the above two warranty periods 2. Countrywide Maintenance When your products need to be maintained, contact the local Carrier maintenance center. Skilled maintainers who have been trained by Carrier are available at all the maintenance centers, where special equipment and spare parts are also available. 3. Important (1). For the repairs to failures caused by any reasons, warranty card is required. (2). If the warranty range is exceeded, Carrier promises to repair with a certain amount of fee. Contact the maintenance department of Carrier for details.
