Using high-rate fluid circulation, the Well Cleaner PST agitates the debris and captures it in bailers within the tool. A number of versions exist which allow for the most effective solution to the problem and environment encountered. The Well Cleaner PST High Flow (HF) maximizes the flow velocity output from the tool. This in turn allows for the longest bailer length and subsequently the highest debris recovery per trip. The Well Cleaner PST High Vacuum (HV) maximizes the drawdown force thereby increasing the ability to recover heavier pieces of debris. The Well Cleaner PST Large Draw-down (LD) is an effective combination of the HV and HF versions. It is optimized to recover the largest payload over a wide range of debris sizes and types. Over time, these often lead to decreased production or malfunctioning hardware. The Well Cleaner's different rotating heads remove these deposits to restore full functionality and production. The Well Cleaner Wishbone Honer (WBH) is designed to clean deposits from tubular walls over intervals where the internal diameter changes, such as mandrels and profiles. This design breaks down hard debris and recovers the cuttings to the surface in the same run. The Well Cleaner Reverse Circulating Bit (RCB) effectively crushes mineral deposits like scale and cement, which are then captured in the integrated bailer system. It is the ideal solution for removal of temporary cement plugs or hard-packed bridges of deposits. The Nozzle Brush can be used on the tool in place of the RCB to remove hard deposits from the walls of the tubulars and retrieve them simultaneously. The Scale Core Bit is designed for shaving scale sheathes from the inner walls with diamond tipped finesse. 8 TOOLS FOR CLEAN-OUT SOLUTIONS SPECIFICATIONS FOR WELL CLEANER DOWNHOLE JETTING TOOL WELL CLEANER DJT BODY TOOL OD 3 1/8 WELL CLEANER DOWNHOLE JETTING TOOL The Well Cleaner Downhole Jetting tool (DJT) is an efficient, e-line conveyed, surface controlled method for jetting fluid downhole. Its innovative design creates quickly a large diameter hole in hydrate or wax plugs. Carrying fluids downhole, it can potentially remove scale bridges using organic acids. Alternatively, it can be used as a fluid sampling tool and in conjunction with a Well Tractor it can operate in horizontal or highly deviated wells. With its modular design and configurable nozzles, the Well Cleaner DJT can be used for a variety of downhole spotting and jet cleaning applications. Made of NACE-compliant materials, it can e.g. be used for spotting organic acids to remove scale or clean downhole equipment for debris. As it works with any typical well fluids, it is a universal cleaning platform and can be used in any liquid environment. Being deployed on e-line, the Well Cleaner DJT eliminates the need to bullhead cleaning fluids into the well when having to clean up or chemically treat parts of a well. This reduces the need for post-operation clean-up and flaring of the well and requires only a minimal operational spread at surface, making it safer and more cost efficient to deploy. As the tool can carry up to ½ bbl in each run, chemical treatments can be done safely without the need for injecting large volumes of fluid, damaging the well and reservoir. 9 CASE STORIES FOR CLEAN-OUT SOLUTIONS WITH PROVEN RESULTS IN A WIDE VARIETY OF ENVIRONMENTS AND THE ABILITY TO TAILOR SOLUTIONS TO YOUR NEEDS, WELLTEC OFFERS A FAST, EFFICIENT OPTION FOR ENABLING INITIAL PRODUCTION OR RETURNING WELLS TO FULL POTENTIAL AS ILLUSTRATED BY THE FOLLOWING CASE STORIES. SUCCESSFUL REVIVAL OF SANDED OUT OIL PRODUCER Over a period of eight years, an offshore Vietnam well had been producing sand along with approximately 1,000 bbl of liquids per day. Production decline led to an intervention where it was determined that the well was plugged with sand. The Well Cleaner PST removed 2,600 lbs of sand, clearing approximately 4,777 ft of sand bridges deposited across a number of different depths. The well was then returned to an optimized production rate. CLE.OFF.VN V1 IMPROVING EFFICIENCY IN EAGLE FORD COMPLETIONS In a five well campaign testing efficiency improvements achieved by replacing CT clean-out with e-line prior to perforating, completion costs were reduced by more than 50%, eliminating the need for fluids and improving HSE performance. Due to its rotating head, suction and bailer features, the Well Cleaner RCB was the ideal solution, milling and retrieving in the same run. A total of 1,085 ft of cement was successfully retrieved. Once cleaned, the Well Tractor conveyed the perforating guns to the exact, required depth. CLE.ON.US.12.4.V1 DOWNHOLE JETTING TOOL (DJT) RESTORES WELL PRODUCTION After producing only ~ ½ a well volume, a recently recompleted well died. It could neither be produced or injected into. It was suspected that the completion fluid was to blame, but what could be done to reestablish production without a rig? Welltec proposed a new tool which could fulfill the client s objectives to both recover samples and jet the screens with surfactant. The Welltec DJT typically carries bailers of specific fluids to accurate, planned depths and then uses them to jet wash the surrounding hardware or straight down to remove an obstruction. In this case, it was configured to reverse the jetting and capture samples at the required depths. On separate runs the DJT first ran to the maximum hold-up depth where it successfully recovered ~ six liters of sand/mud in one chamber and ~ one liter of the wellbore fluid in another; both for laboratory analysis. On the subsequent run it conveyed bailers of surfactant which it used to clean the screens at various depths. Post job, the well was put on line and production initiated JNO16050 RLWI MILLING AND RETRIEVING HARD DEBRIS Statoil challenged Welltec to develop an RLWI solution for removing very hard debris and pulling a plug. The Well Cleaner RCB broke through and loosened up the debris around the outside of the fishing neck on the first run. Then the Well Cleaner PST removed the remaining debris around the fishing neck to allow for grappling. In the same run, the plug was caught and pulled using the Well Stroker. Statoil got the well back on-line a year earlier than with any other solution. CLE.SUB.NO V1

10 REMOVING CEMENT STRINGERS ON E-LINE An operator in Alberta, Canada experienced recurring problems with cement stringers, causing a portion of their wellbores to be abandoned due to the timing of CT vs. frac dates. By using the Well Cleaner RCB, cement stringers was removed in a quarter of the time compared to CT while also eliminating pumping requirements, enabling the operator to reach TD and shoot the well without delaying fracturing. Due to successful testing this procedure is now standard on all 4½ cemented liners. CLE.ON.CA V1 E-LINE MILLING INCREASES PRODUCTION BY 150% Welltec delivered a non-intrusive, e-line solution when an operator offshore Indonesia was facing scale build-up in several restricted access fields that couldn t handle excessive amounts of fluids. In just six days, a series of runs were performed to remove scale on four pilot wells using combinations of the Well Tractor, Well Stroker, Well Miller and Well Cleaner, allowing the operator to add new perforations and increase well production from 1.13 MMSCF to 3.8 MMSCF. CLE.SUB.IDN V1 RECOVERING 2700 LBS OF DEBRIS IN GABON An operator in Gabon encountered debris preventing injectivity in a remote water injection well vital to the Koula production system in a sensitive jungle. The Well Cleaner PST was the ideal, low footprint solution for this delicate environment. Over 18 successful runs, ~2,700 lbs of debris were recovered. Despite this, the HUD did not change significantly, thus confirming larger issue, providing valuable information to the operator to further diagnose the cause and initiate appropriate measures. CLE.ON.AF V1 CLEANING SSV WITH WELL FLOWING Debris had settled in the top area of the flow tube of a Sub Sea Safety Valve (SSSV), causing sealing problems in a well offshore Mexico. Welltec was selected due to track record of similar operations. After careful pre-job planning, and a gauge run to confirm free passage to SSSV depth, the inner profile of the SSSV was cleaned with the Well Cleaner WBH in just one hour of cleaning time, while the well was still flowing at 2,100 BOPD, and the SSSV seal functionality was fully restored. 11 MORE CASE STORIES CAN BE FOUND AT SOLUTIONS DEBRIS REMOVAL ON E-LINE IN SAGD WELL A production decline was experienced in a SAGD well with extremely high temperatures and well-known sanding issues. Making the best of Welltec s cleaning solutions, the Well Cleaner PST and Well Cleaner DE were combined and successfully removed 310 liters of sand over a distance of 2,073 ft. Welltec s solution required half the personnel as the alternatives which would have been technically challenging in this thermal, deviated, open liner configuration located in Canada. CLE.ON.CA V1 WORLD S FIRST 212 SCALE MILLING JOB ON E-LINE An offshore well in Malaysia was suffering from severe CaCO3 scale build up problems that had reduced oil production from the short string to only 70 bbl/ day. Coiled tubing (CT) was not an option due to limited deck space and crane capacity. Utilizing a combination of the Well Tractor and Well Miller, a total of 5,350 ft CaCO3 scale interval was milled. The operation was performed approximately four days faster than CT. CLE.OFF.MA V1 REMOVING HEAVY MUD FROM FISHING NECK During a plug pulling operation in the Caspian Sea, offshore Azerbaijan, a thick layer of ~ 18 lbs per gallon heavy mud had settled on top of the fishing neck. The Well Cleaner PST HV with three bailer sections to capture and recover the debris to surface was run in hole and tagged the obstruction at 5,988 ft. (1,825 m), then pulled back to 5,971 ft. (1,820 m) to start the clean-out operation. Slowly moving forward there was cleaned down to and around the fishing neck. At surface it was verified that the bailers had recovered ~ 55 lbs of heavy mud. The fishing neck was now accessible for the plug pulling operation to continue. The operator was fully satisfied with the performance of the Well Cleaner and their objective was met successfully. Using Welltec s e-line, clean-out solution prevented the need to bring in a CT unit, which saved at least five days "Great job. CLE.OFF.BAK V RETRIEVING ASPHALTENES, RLWI WATER DEPTH RECORD Capitalizing on RLWI efficiency, an operator successfully intervened in a subsea well in 3,991 ft of water. They wanted to set a lock-open sleeve across a failed subsurface safety valve. Unfortunately, a slickline gauge run indicated obstructions after only ~1,000 ft. To investigate further, the Well Tractor and Well Cleaner RCB were selected. After milling, the tools were retrieved with bailers full of asphaltenes. The operator concluded that these unexpected deposits would likely be present throughout the well. CLE.SUB.US V1
