Limitations of warranty 1. Th Warranty applies only to Ncold gas absption refrigerat operating equipment. Th Warranty does not extend to glassware, electric light bulbs, and replaceable fuses. 2. Th warranty does not apply to parts and assemblies that have been subjected to muse, improper installation, improper abnmal service, transit damage, recharging of cooling system, accident, fire, improper repair, tampering abuse. 3. Irrespective of nature of warranty protection offered claimed, period of warranty shall in no case extend beyond three years f component parts and two years f lab to repair replace such parts, commencing from iginal date of purchase of new equipment. 4. In der to obtain remedy of repair and replacement, refrigerat must be brought to any Ncold Center f warranty service. The end consumer responsible f all expenses resulting from any remote service call if refrigerat cannot be brought into Ncold service center. 5. It responsibility of end consumer to have maintenance perfmed upon warranted equipment one time during second year befe beginning of third year after iginal purchase. Such maintenance required to maintain th warranty in effect and failure to perfm such maintenance will void remainder of warranty. Required maintenance during second year befe third year after purchase cleaning and checking of following: Burner, Flue, Spiral Baffle, Roof Cap Screen, and Control Board Sequence. Ncold refrigerats are only RV refrigerats made in United States and offer a standard limited threeyear warranty. Ncold also offers an additional warranty coverage plan which extends standard limited threeyear warranty. To activate threeyear limited warranty and to receive an invitation to participate in extended warranty plan, complete and mail warranty regtration supplied. Help us to help you. Write model number and serial number below f future reference. These numbers are on serial plate in refrigerat. The serial plate located in fresh food compartment on top right hand side. Use se numbers when receiving service in any crespondence concerning refrigerat. Gas Absption Warranty Questions About warranty Th warranty coverage begins on iginal date of purchase by consumer purchaser and only warranty f Ncold refrigerat. In no case will Limited Warranty extend beyond two (2) years f lab and three (3) years f parts and freight. Ncold reserves right to change design specifications of a refrigerat without obligation to modify previously produced refrigerats. There are no warranties, eir expressed implied. What coverd by th warranty? Defects in material and wkmanship. Parts and lab f two (2) years Parts only f third year if required maintenance perfmed. Freight (ground service only) f shipment of a replacement part and f return of defective part. What not covered by th warranty? Shipping methods than ground service. Defects in glassware, electric light bulbs, and replacement fuses. Adjustment of burner electrode. Cleaning of burner. Fees f mobile repair service. Mileage travel expenses to obtain warranty service. Expenses f required maintenance as specified in Limited Warranty and in Owner s Manual. Incidental consequential loss damage including but not limited to charges claims f lab (including lab when no parts are used f a repair), lost business, lost time, lost profits, lost food, and lost use. Replacement parts that are not manufactured supplied by Ncold. Defect of a part assembly when defect iginates from muse, improper installation, improper abnmal service, transit damage, recharging of cooling system, accident, fire, improper repair, tampering, abuse. What will Ncold do? F a refrigerat that properly installed, maintained, and used as specified in Installation/Owner s Manuals, Ncold responsibilities are: Limited to repair and replacement of parts. To provide no charge parts and lab f two (2) years. To provide no charge parts only f year 3 if required maintenance perfmed. To provide freight (ground service only) f shipment of a replacement part and f return of a defective part f three (3) years. What will refrigerat owner do? To obtain warranty service, refrigerat owner responsibilities are: To use, service, and maintain refrigerat as specified in Installation/Owner s Manuals. To deliver warranted product to an authized Ncold Center f warranty repair. To show proof that refrigerat within warranty coverage. To have required maintenance perfmed by an authized Ncold Center one time during year 2 of Limited Warranty. To pay to have required maintenance perfmed. To mail paid receipt to Ncold showing required perfmed befe expiration of year 2 of Limited Warranty. To show proof of required maintenance befe requesting warranty service in year 3 of Limited Warranty. What rights do you have? The warranty gives you specific legal rights. 4 Safety Awareness Read th manual carefully and understand contents befe you use refrigerat. Be aware of possible safety hazards when you see safety alert symbol on refrigerat and in th manual. A signal wd follows safety alert symbol and identifies danger of hazard. Carefully read descriptions of se signal wds to fully know ir meanings. They are f safety. WARNING: Th signal wd means a hazard, which if igned, can cause dangerous personal injury, death, much property damage. CAUTION: Th signal wd means a hazard, which if igned, can cause small personal injury much property damage. Safety Instructions WARNING: The stage of flammable materials behind around refrigerat creates a fire hazard. Do not use area behind refrigerat to ste anything, especially flammable materials (gasoline, cleaning supplies, etc.) Do not remove round ground prong from refrigerat AC power cd. Do not use a two prong adapter extension cd on AC power cd. A circuit overload can result in an electrical fire if wires and/ fuses are not crect size. Eir use wire and fuse sizes as writtten in Installation Manual refer to local codes applicable RVIA Standards f crect wire and fuse sizes. Increct installation, adjustment, change to, maintenance of th refrigerat can cause personal injury, property damage, both. Have service and maintenance wk done by by an Ncold authized service center. Dconnect both AC and DC power sources befe doing any maintenance wk on refrigerat. All service wk on th refrigerat must be done by a qualified service technician. Do not bypass change refrigerat s electrical components features. When you dcard an appliance, remove all dos to prevent accidental entrapment and suffocation. Do not spray liquids near electrical outlets, connections, refrigerat components. Many liquids are electrically conductive and can cause a shock hazard, electrical shts, and in some cases fire. The refrigerat cooling system under pressure. Do not try to repair to recharge a defective cooling system. The cooling system contains sodium chromate. The breathing of certain chromium compounds can cause cancer. The cooling system contents can cause severe skin and eye burns, and can ignite and burn with an intense flame. Do not bend, drop, weld, move, drill, puncture, hit cooling system. At regular intervals, make sure that refrigerat flue burner, vent areas, and ventilation air pathway between vents are completely free from any flammable material blockage. After a period of stage, it especially imptant to check se areas f any flammable material blockage caused by animals. CAUTION: The rear of refrigerat has sharp edges and cners. To prevent cuts abrasions when wking on refrigerat, be careful and wear cut restant gloves. About Your Refrigerat Stage Volume: Th refrigerat made to ste fresh and frozen foods and f making ice. Operation during travel: While refrigerat should be level when vehicle stopped, perfmance during travel not usually effected. Food compartment: Ignite start up refrigerat and let it cool f eight hours befe loading with food. If refrigerat does not start to cool down after about two hours, contact an authized Ncold Center. 5 F best cooling perfmance: Let air move freely inside entire food compartment. Do not cover shelves with plastic, paper, etc. To decrease amount of ice that collects on cooling fins: Cover all liquids and mot foods. Let all hot foods cool befe putting m in refrigerat. Do not open do any longer than necessary. Flipup shelf: The flipup shelf supplies a space to ste tall bottles. To use flipup shelf, lift center of shelf and fold it up against inside wall of refrigerat. Temperature control system: Although refrigerat not frost free, it made to limit frost on cooling fins. At regular intervals, temperature control system automatically melts most of frost from cooling fins. The water from cooling fins drains into a collection cup that attached to back of refrigerat. The heat of cooling system evapates water from collection cup. Operating Refrigerat Controls Control panel: Do Bins: You may put do bins [52] of fresh food compartment in a location that best meets need ( Art01114). To remove bins, lift m over locat and pull m fward. To install bins, push m onto locat. NOTE: Do not wash do bins in a dhwasher. The do bins are not dhwasher safe. Freezer compartment: The freezer compartment made to keep prefrozen food frozen and not to quick freeze food. Keep prefrozen foods in freezer compartment. NOTE: Do not put items on ice tray while water freezing. The water freezes me rapidly if rmostat at coldest temperature setting. Do latch f travel and stage: During travel, do latch prevents do from opening. There are no chains, slides, any devices that you must engage. During stage, do latch prevents do from completely closing. Use it to prevent ods when refrigerat shut down f a long period of time. To use do latch f stage ( Art00979): Open do just so do latch [161] between ribs [166] of latch plate [162]. The refrigerat control panel (see Art01562) above refrigerat do. A 12 volt DC power supply necessary f control functions of refrigerat to operate. The refrigerat receives DC power from 12 volt system of vehicle; eir an auxiliary battery, a converter, vehicle engine battery. The ON / OFF button [30] starts and shuts down refrigerat: To turn on refrigerat, push and release ON / OFF button. To turn off refrigerat, push ON / OFF button f two seconds and n release. The TEMP SET button [32] controls temperature adjustment of freezer and fresh food compartment. The temperature adjustment that you select does not change if mode of operation of refrigerat changes. Push TEMP SET button and temperature setting 1 9 appears in center dplay [33]. Push and hold TEMP SET button and temperature setting changes. When desired temperature setting shows, release TEMP SET button. Owner s Manual 5

6 The temperature setting shows f ten seconds and n current operation mode of refrigerat shows. The number 9 coldest temperature setting. The MODE button [31] controls operation mode of refrigerat. Push and hold MODE button and a light bar shows in center dplay beside each of four operating modes of refrigerat, one at a time. There one automatic mode of operation and two manual modes of operation. NOTE: On 3way models only, re are three manual modes of operation. When light bar shows beside mode of operation that you choose, release MODE button to operate refrigerat in that mode. Automatic mode operation: When refrigerat in AUTO mode, it automatically uses most efficient energy source that available f operation. During operation, if a me efficient energy source becomes available, refrigerat controls change from current energy source to me efficient energy source as follows: The first choice AC operation if 120 volts AC available to refrigerat. The second choice propane gas operation if 120 volts AC not available to refrigerat. The third choice DC operation (3way models only) if neir 120 volts AC n propane gas available to refrigerat. Removing air from propane gas supply lines: F safety reasons, burner made to ignite on propane gas within a specified amount of time. When starting refrigerat f first time, after stage, after replacing propane gas tank, propane gas supply lines can have air in m. Due to air in gas supply lines, burner may not ignite on propane gas within specified amount of time. To remove air from propane gas supply lines: Make sure that all of gas valves are open. Push ON / OFF button to turn refrigerat on. Push and hold MODE button until light bar beside LP GAS [36] shows. Th means that refrigerat operating on propane gas. If air in propane gas supply lines prevents burner from ignition on propane gas, fault code F will appear in center dplay. Push MODE button and refrigerat will start a 30 second trial f ignition. During 30 second trial f ignition, refrigerat controls open gas safety valve and igniter sparks. After 30 seconds, refrigerat controls closes gas safety valve and igniter stops sparking. When light bar beside LP GAS shows and no fault code remains, th means that refrigerat operating on propane gas. At th time, all of air removed from propane gas supply lines and you may select AUTO mode of operation if you wh. Depending on how much air may be in propane gas supply lines, you may need to repeat 30 second trial f ignition two three times. If burner does not ignite on propane gas after two three attempts, stop and consult local an authized Ncold Center. Set controls to automatic mode operation: Push ON / OFF button to turn refrigerat on. Push and hold MODE button until light bar shows beside AUTO [34] and n release. If 120 volts AC available to refrigerat: The light bar beside AC [35] also shows in center dplay. After ten seconds, light bar beside AC goes off and only light bar beside AUTO remains. Th means that refrigerat operating on AC electric. If 120 volts AC not available to refrigerat: The light bar beside AC also shows in center dplay. After a few seconds, light bar beside AC goes off and light bar beside LP GAS shows. After 10 seconds, light bar beside LP GAS goes off and only light bar beside AUTO remains. Th means that refrigerat operating on propane gas. Owner s Manual 6

7 On 2 way models only, if neir 120 volts AC n propane gas available to refrigerat: The fault code F shows in center dplay. On 3way models only, if neir 120 volts AC n propane gas available to refrigerat: The refrigerat control will automatically change to DC electric operation. NOTE: DC electric operation less efficient than AC electric and propane gas. Use DC electric operation only to maintain refrigerat temperature while in transit and if energy sources are not available. Do not use DC electric to initially decrease temperature of refrigerat. If an energy source available to refrigerat, but not operating crectly: A fault code shows in center dplay. The refrigerat controls try to change to a less efficient energy source. If a less efficient energy source not available: A fault code shows in center dplay. Refer to Fault Codes section of th manual. Cooling unit sensing: The controls have ability to sense operation of cooling unit. If controls sense that cooling unit has stopped cooling: The heat sources to cooling unit are turned off and are locked out by controls. A fault code n shows in Center dplay. You can reset controls and remove th fault code one time. To reset controls, shut off and n start refrigerat. To turn off refrigerat, push ON / OFF button f two seconds and n release. To turn on refrigerat, push and release ON / OFF button. If you reset controls and fault occurs again befe refrigerat completes a full cooling cycle: The heat sources to cooling unit are turned off and are locked out. A fault code n shows in Center dplay. Th time you can not reset fault. Have refrigerat serviced by a Ncold authized Center as soon as possible. Set controls to manual mode operation: Push ON / OFF button to turn refrigerat on. Push and hold MODE button until light bar shows beside AC [35] and n release. Th means that refrigerat operating on AC electric. Push and hold MODE button until light bar shows beside LP GAS [36] and n release. Th means that refrigerat operating on propane gas. Push and hold MODE button until light bar shows beside DC [164] and n release. Th means that refrigerat operating on AC electric. If energy source interrupted: A fault code shows in center dplay. Refer to Fault Codes section of th manual. Owner s Manual 7

8 Backup operating system: Th refrigerat has a backup operating system. The backup operating system allows refigerat to continue to cool if temperature sens of refrigerat should fail. If th failure occurs: The refrigerat automatically changes to backup operating system. When you push TEMP SET button, temperature setting flashes in center dplay f ten seconds. After temperature setting flashes, mode of operation appears in center dpaly. The backup operating system can overfreeze thaw contents of freezer and fresh food compartment. Make sure temperatures of freezer and fresh food compartment are satfacty. NOTE: If you open do(s) too often, temperatures inside freezer and fresh food compartment do not become stable. Allow refrigerat to operate f about one hour after each adjustment change befe you examine contents. The number 9 coldest temperature setting. If temperature too warm, push and hold TEMP SET button to rae temperature setting by one number. If temperature too cold, push and hold TEMP SET button to lower temperature setting by one number. Have refrigerat serviced by an Ncold authized Center as soon as possible. Keep in mind following electrical precautions f DC operation of refrigerat: Good battery condition necessary f crect DC operation. The capacity of battery charging system must be me than what necessary f refrigerat and DC appliances. While vehicle engine running, make sure voltage of DC power supply leads at refrigerat me than 11.5 VDC. DC Operation Guidelines (3way models only) DC operation intended only to maintain temperature of refrigerat and its contents when y are already cool. The DC operation not intended f initial start up and cooling of refrigerat. Always use eir AC operation propane gas operation to initially start up and cool refrigerat. The refrigerat must be cooled and temperature must be steady befe you operate refrigerat on DC. Keep in mind following guidelines f DC operation of refrigerat: Use DC operation of refrigerat while vehicle in transit. Do not use DC operation until refrigerat and its contents are completely cooled. Only use DC operation if vehicle battery and battery charging system are in good operating condition. DC Operation Precautions (3way models only) Th refrigerat made to operate on DC power while vehicle in transit and AC power propane gas sources are not available. Operate refrigerat on DC power only when vehicle engine running. F refrigerat to operate crectly on DC power, battery must be maintained in a fully charged condition. F battery to be fully charged at all times during refrigerat operation on DC, vehicle engine must be running and battery charging system must be in good operating condition. Effects of High Altitude on Propane Gas Operation When you operate refrigerat on propane gas at altitudes higher than 5500 feet above sea level: You may experience reduced cooling perfmance of refrigerat. You may experience burner outages. To avoid se possible problems, Ncold recommends that you operate refrigerat on AC when at altitudes higher than 5500 feet above sea level. Owner s Manual 8

9 Refrigerat Care Checklt Your refrigerat will give you years of trouble free service if you do se simple checks every three to six months: Keep food compartment and freezer clean. Cleaning. Defrost refrigerat as necessary. Defrosting. Make sure do seals crectly. Do Sealing. Be aware of any cooling changes that are not because of wear, loading, gas control changes. If changes occur, contact an authized Ncold Center. Make sure gas supply propane gas only and not butane a butane mixture. Put drain hose into a halfgallon larger container to capture water. Put dry towels (etc.) inside refrigerat and freezer to absb melted frost. CAUTION: High temperatures can cause inside surfaces of refrigerat to warp melt. Do not use pans of HOT water, a hair dryer, any high temperature devices to defrost refrigerat. Do not use any hard sharp objects to remove frost. Damage to interi of refrigerat can occur. To increase speed of defrosting, put pans of WARM water in refrigerat and freezer. Remove wet towels (etc.) and dry interi. Remove drain hose from large container and put drain hose back into drip cup. Remove large container from enclosure. Defrosting The cooling fins of refrigerat operate at below freezing temperature and will naturally fm frost from humidity, which always present in air. The humidity inside refrigerat increases: with higher outside temperature and humidity. with stage of nonsealed fresh foods warm foods. with amount of time that do(s) are open. with any air leakage into refrigerat. Although refrigerat not frost free, it made to limit frost on cooling fins. At regular intervals, temperature control system automatically melts most of frost from cooling fins. The water from cooling fins drains into a collection cup that attached to back of refrigerat. The heat of cooling system evapates water from collection cup. It nmal f frost to collect inside freezer. Excess frost decreases cooling perfmance of refrigerat. Defrost refrigerat and freezer as necessary: Remove all food from refrigerat. Turn refrigerat OFF. NOTE: Defrosting refrigerat makes excess water inside refrigerat. Remove drain hose from drip cup at rear of refrigerat. Start up refrigerat. Allow refrigerat to cool down. Return all food to refrigerat. Cleaning A good time to clean refrigerat just after you defrost it. Clean inside of refrigerat as often as necessary to avoid food ods: Remove all food from refrigerat. NOTE: Do not use abrasive cleaners, chemicals, scouring pads because y can damage interi of refrigerat. Wash interi with a solution of liquid dh detergent and warm water. Rinse with a solution of baking soda and clean water. Dry with a clean cloth. Put all food in refrigerat. Drip tray: To remove and clean drip tray: Locate plastic clip that around wire shelf in front of drip tray. Owner s Manual 9

10 Remove and save screw that attaches plastic clip to inside of refrigerat cabinet. Pull self fward to remove from refrigerat Make sure that drip tray empty of water. Pull drain tube plug out from inside of drip tray and out of drain hose. Pull drip tray fward to remove from slots in refrigerat cabinet. Clean drip tray. Put drain tube plug down into drip tray and push drip tray back into iginal position. Push drain hose back onto drain tube plug. Put wire shelf and plastic clip back in iginal position. Attach plastic clip with screw. Do Sealing If do does not seal crectly, excess frost will collect inside refrigerat. Make sure do seals crectly: Close do on a piece of paper that about size and thickness of a dollar bill ( Art00980). Gently pull paper. You should feel a slight drag between gasket and cabinet. Do th on all four sides of do. If you do not feel a slight drag on paper, do not sealing crectly: Make sure screws of hinges are tight. Make sure do gasket does not touch do latch: If do gasket touches do latch, loosen screws of do latch. Rae do latch just so it does not touch and tighten screws of do latch. Make sure do latch holds do closed Refrigerat Maintenance Checklt Read and understand following maintenance sections of th manual. Make sure propane gas pressure 11 inches of water column. Adjust if necessary. Make sure combustion seal complete and intact. Replace repair it if necessary. Make sure burner and burner ifice are clean ( Art00956). Clean if necessary. Make sure electrode spark gap [167] 1/8 3/16 inch ( Art00955). Adjust if necessary. Make sure AC voltage volts and DC voltage volts. Make sure rmocouple tip clean and secure. Make sure area at rear of refrigerat free of any combustible materials, gasoline, and flammable vaps and liquids. Refrigerat Stage Befe refrigerat sted f an extended (seasonal) period of time: Defrost and clean interi of refrigerat. Close dos with stage latch. If refrigerat sted f an extended period of time, befe start up: Make sure re are no obstructions in vents, ventilation air pathway, burner, ifice, flue area. Owner s Manual 10

11 Refrigerat Maintenance Gas flame appearance: While in propane gas operation, examine appearance of gas flame: Push and hold temperature setting button until 9 shows and n release. Open lower intake vent. CAUTION: The burner box cover can be hot. Wear gloves to avoid burns. Open burner box do [165] and look at gas flame [75] ( Art00955 and Art00975). The flame should be: a darker blue col on inside of flame and a lighter blue col on outside of flame. a constant shape without flickering. Contact Ncold authized service center if flame : yellow flickering changing shape. Make sure flame does not touch inside of flue tube [76]. If flame touches inside of flue tube, contact an authized Ncold Center. Close burner box do. Remove and clean burner ifice: NOTE: Your an authized Ncold Center must do th procedure. To remove and clean burner ifice: Close valve at propane gas tank(s). Close manual shut off valve of refrigerat. Shut down refrigerat.. Open lower intake vent. CAUTION: The burner box cover can be hot. Wear gloves to avoid burns. Remove burner box cover by removing one screw. WARNING: To avoid possible propane gas leaks, always use two wrenches to loosen and tighten gas supply line at refrigerat s manual shut off valve. Remove flare nut from ifice assembly [77] ( Art00956). Remove ifice assembly from burner [78]. WARNING: Do not try to remove ifice [79] from ifice adapter [80] when cleaning. Removal will damage ifice and seal of ifice and can cause a propane gas leak. Leaking propane gas can ignite explode which can result in dangerous personal injury death. Do not clean ifice with a pin objects. Clean ifice assembly with air pressure and alcohol only. Using a wrench, assemble ifice assembly to burner. Assemble flare nut to ifice assembly. Tighten flare nut by hand. Hold ifice assembly securely and, using a wrench, tighten flare nut 1/4 revolution only. Examine all of connections f gas leaks. Remove Refrigerat NOTE: Your an authized Ncold Center must do th procedure. CAUTION: The rear of refrigerat has sharp edges and cners. To prevent cuts abrasions when wking on refrigerat, be careful and wear cut restant gloves. 1. Close valve at propane gas tank(s). WARNING: To avoid possible propane gas leaks, always use two wrenches to loosen and tighten gas supply line at refrigerat s manual shut off valve. 2. Open lower intake vent and remove gas supply line from manual shut off valve of refrigerat. 3. Remove AC power cd from receptacle. 4. Remove DC wiring from refrigerat: Remove DC wiring from battery converter of vehicle. Owner s Manual 11

12 Put a mark on DC wires so you can put m back in crect location. Remove DC wires from refrigerat. 5. Remove screws which fasten refrigerat to flo. 6. Remove do from refrigerat. 7. Remove screws which fasten refrigerat to wall. 8. Remove refrigerat from opening. 9. Attach do to refrigerat. Reinstall Refrigerat NOTE: Your an authized Ncold Center must do th procedure. WARNING: Make sure combustion seal not broken, completely around refrigerat mounting flanges, and between mounting flanges and wall of enclosure. If combustion seal not complete, exhaust fumes can be present in living area of vehicle. The breathing of exhaust fumes can cause dizziness, nausea, and in extreme cases, death. 1. Push refrigerat completely into enclosure. 2. Remove do from refrigerat. 3. Put screws though mounting flanges and into wall. 4. Attach do to refrigerat CAUTION: The rear of refrigerat has sharp edges and cners. To prevent cuts abrasions when wking on refrigerat, be careful and wear cut restant gloves. 5. Open lower intake vent and put screws through refrigerat and into flo. WARNING: To avoid possible propane gas leaks, always use two wrenches to loosen and tighten gas supply line at refrigerat s manual shut off valve. 6. Attach gas supply line to manual shut off valve of refrigerat. 7. Open valve at propane gas tank(s). WARNING: Do not allow leak checking solution to touch electrical components. Many liquids are electrically conductive and can cause a shock hazard,electrical shts, and in some cases fire. 8. Examine gas supply line f leaks. 9. Connect DC wiring to refrigerat: Install DC fuse connect DC wiring to battery converter. Connect DC wires from refrigerat. 10. Connect AC power cd to receptacle.
