2 Titan PTFE Micro Titer Plates NEW Titan PTFE Micro Titer Plates Titan, the worlds first range of standard 24, 48, 96 & 384 well PTFE micro titer plates and lids, are manufactured from the highest grade, branded PTFE which ensures full raw material traceability direct to the raw material manufacturer. Precision Engineered Each plate is manufactured to precise specifications and tolerances using the latest isostatic moulding techniques combined with computerised machining. Individual wells are smooth and free of imperfections while all well diameters and spacing are consistent for robot compatibility. PTFE Plate Applications Short or long term storage of diverse compound libraries. Collection of aggressive chemicals and compounds. Heated or cooled micro reactions for combinatorial chemistry. PTFE plates exhibit superior fluorescence than comparable white plates. Compatible with all leading centrifuges and vacuum centrifuges. PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) is an outstanding high performance fluoropolymer with a range of properties that make it ideal for laboratory use. Chemical Resistance For PTFE, chemical resistance can be considered total. Some surface reactions with compounds with 'free' electrons, such as sodium in liquid ammonia, can occur to leave a carbon film. Although PTFE is also porous to halogens, there is no chemical reaction. It is soluble in some fluorine compounds at elevated temperatures over 350 C. PTFE may be sterilised by chemical and thermal means but not by radiation. Thermal Stability PTFE's thermal stability is outstanding and can be used up to 300 C. There is no embrittlement in liquid helium. PTFE will not melt to give a liquid phase - a built in safety factor. Please note that PTFE is not the same as PFA, which is a thermoplastic and which will melt at about 320 C (please do not confuse the two materials). Decomposition of pure PTFE starts at about 400 C. PTFE is microwave compatible. High Purity PTFE materials are extremely pure: this is due to the method of polymerisation and to the methods of subsequent processing: Absorption can occur with PTFE but this can be substantially eliminated by using a modified form of PTFE designated TFM. Purity levels of PTFE materials are at least as good as PFA since PFA can become contaminated during processing operations which involve hot melt in contact with metal. 9 Micro Titer Plate Clamping Systems NEW Combi-Clamp - Micro Titer Plate Clamping System The Combi-Clamp is an easy way of preventing a loaded filter plate or micro titer plate from leaking or evaporating during filtration assays or micro reactions, including solid phase synthesis. This unique device has two removable PTFE coated silicone seals which are clamped to the top and bottom of the plate. Both the top and bottom seals can be removed independently of each other allowing the additions to the top or filtration through the bottom.
