10 Similarities between Labels 1. Immediately After Spraying. Drain Tank. Flush Tank & Boom with Water 2. Spray inside of Tank with Water Minimum 10% of Tank volume Agitate 15 minutes Flush out through Filter/Boom/Hoses Open ends of each boom & Flush entire tank contents out though open booms 3. Remove all Filters &Screens Clean thoroughly with Detergent & Decontaminant Fill Sprayer Min 1/10 Full, Add All Clear as per label for Water Volume Agitate 15 minutes. Flush out through booms 4. Rinse with Water Minimum 1/10 of Tank Spray Volume Flush Out through Boom Reinstall Nozzles, Screens & endcaps

11 Group 2 Products Group 2 products can be divided into two main groups: Sulfonyl ureas (thifensulfuron (Refine), tribenuron (Express)) and triazolopyrimidines (florasulam (PrePass), pyroxsulam (Simplicity)) Imidazolinones (imazethapyr (Pursuit), imazamox (Odyssey, Solo), imazapyr (Ares), imazamethabenz (Assert))

12 Approaches to Tank Cleanout Minimize extra product leftover Rinse Immediately, Spray out in field Dilute remainder with water and spray out in field again Conduct additional cleaning as determined by tank mix and next crop s sensitivity.

13 Cleanout of Group 2 Products SUs and TPs dissolve better at high ph are vast majority of cleanout problems Imi s dissolve better at low ph Cleanout problems rare SU and TP problems made worse when tank mix contains EC formulations Oily layer (EC) can trap residue on walls

14 Cleanout of Group 2 Products Use ammonia in rinse to raise ph and improve solubility of SU and TP residue 1 L /100 L of 3% household ammonia sufficient Add surfactant (e.g., Agsurf at 0.6% v/v if tank mixed with EC Understand your sprayer s plumbing and be thorough.
