Lighting equipment Definition A luminary is an appliance in which a light source can be assembled - having as primary aim to light an object or a surrounding and, to the exclusion of light sources themselves, contains the necessary components for fixing and protecting the light sources as well as for direct or indirect connection to the mains supply. In addition to this definition, the following appliances fall under LightRec: lighting equipment using an alternative energy source such as solar energy; fixed appliances on batteries. The contribution for testing and measuring equipment, however, is an administrative contribution. This contribution only covers the costs for reporting, communication and monitoring. Costs for collection and processing are only calculated at the time the old appliance is discarded. An appliance can be included in this list if it is an appliance for sole professional use or because the properties of the professional appliance are such that it does not fall under the criteria of its household equivalent.
