6 10 Approach and Edge Lighting 11 For the T.L.O.F and F.A.T.O The lighting of F.A.T.O. (Final Approach and Take Off area) and T.L.O.F. (Touchdown and Lift Off area) must, in compliance with ICAO regulations, be carried out using omnidirectional lights. The T.L.O.F lighting must emit green light. At elevated heliports, the T.L.O.F is usually combined with the F.A.T.O, so only F.A.T.O lighting is installed. 8 14 Beacon 15 Long-Range Identification Beacons allow long-range identification for helicopters when they are further away from the landing site. When selecting a beacon, two factors must be considered: The brightness for long range visibility and the light distribution to avoid the glare which can impair pilots vision. Rotating beacons are available as flashing beacons with LED or Xenon technology. To ensure clear identification of a particular heliport, flash characteristics and colours can be adjusted individually in the special Apollo 155 beacon. 9 16 Glide Path Indicator 17 Optical Approach Support Too low Glide slope indicators provide pilots with all the optical information required for a safe approach. They can be used during the day and at night. Glide path indicators are used especially where extreme accuracy of the approach route is essential, for either noise or topographical reasons. They can be adapted to suit your needs. Alternatively, the wind direction indicators can be illuminated from inside, which reduces glare effects, or by using modern LED-technology lamps. The power supply can also be provided as a solar powered system.

12 22 Emergency and Safety Equipment 2 Ensures Personal Protection All available versions are equipped with the prescribed components and can be extended on customer request. The design of our rescue equipment boards, boxes and cabinets can be adapted to your local conditions by choosing individual sizes, colours and equipment.
