2 2 A-Tech-20 Controller Operation Manual (04/02/01) Quick Reference Guide Controller Maneuvering: Scrolling through the Menu Levels and accessing all unit features is easily attained by using the pressure sensitive A-Tech-20 controller pad. Powering the unit is accomplished by pressing the ON-OFF key. The ON-OFF key will illuminate in the ON position. The CONFIG MENU, ENTER, UP and DOWN ARROW, and SELECT keys are used to gain access to the different feature levels within the system. A defaulted flashing-cursor will appear in the upper left corner of the display when LEVEL feature-screens are initially accessed. This flashingcursor is moved to the specific adjustable data- fields by pressing the ENTER key. Data-fields are adjusted by pressing the UP or DOWN ARROW keys. The ENTER key is used to accept data changes and entries. Pressing the SELECT key allows the user to screen-advance from a current feature-screen to the next available feature-screen. Changing Temperature/ Humidity Setpoint: Changing the temperature or humidity setpoint is simple. To directly access and modify the current temperature or humidity setpoint: Press the TEMP SETPT or HUMID SETPT key one-time, for example: TEMP SETPT: 72.0 F ACTUAL TEMP: XX.X F <PRESS ENTER TO> <CHANGE SETPOINT> Press the ENTER key one-time to move the flashing-cursor to the TEMP SETPT: adjustable datafield: TEMP SETPT: 72.0 F ACTUAL TEMP: XX.X F <PRESS ENTER TO> <CHANGE SETPOINT> Press the UP or DOWN ARROW key to raise or lower the setpoint to the desired value. TEMP SETPT: 74.0 F ACTUAL TEMP: XX.X F <PRESS ENTER TO> <CHANGE SETPOINT> Press the ENTER key one-time accept the data entry: TEMP SETPT: 74.0 F ACTUAL TEMP: XX.X F <DATA ACCEPTED> To return to the HOME screen at any time, press the ESCAPE key. Acknowledging an Alarm: If an alarm occurs, the A-Tech-20 will sound an alarm and the ALARM key will illuminate. To view what type of alarm has occurred, press the ALARM key one-time. The most current alarm type, date and time of alarm will be displayed. For example, a loss of power alarm will be indicated as follows: ** ALARM ** DAY/YR TIME POWER RESTART To silence an alarm, press the ALARM MUTE key located on the controller pad one-time. Note: Refer to page 7 Startup after a power loss for more alarm acknowledging information. Accessing LEVELS 1-4: Press the CONFIG MENU key one-time. The following screen will appear with the flashing-cursor located in the upper left corner: ENTER PASSWORD: 0000 Press the ENTER key one-time to move the flashing-cursor to the adjustable ENTER PASSWORD data-field: ENTER PASSWORD: 0000 Press the UP or DOWN ARROW to adjust the password to the desired security access level. (Refer to page 6 for A-Tech-20 password information.) ENTER PASSWORD: 0001 Press the ENTER key one-time to accept the number. Wait approximately 3 seconds, and the following menu screen will display: MENU LEVEL 1: MENU LEVEL 2: MENU LEVEL 3: MENU LEVEL 4: Press the ENTER key one-time to move the flashing-cursor to the desired menu level. MENU LEVEL 1: MENU LEVEL 2: MENU LEVEL 3: MENU LEVEL 4: Press the UP or DOWN ARROW key one-time to change the default adjustable data-field from to YES. Then press the ENTER key one-time to accept the data entry. MENU LEVEL 1: YES MENU LEVEL 2: MENU LEVEL 3: MENU LEVEL 4: The first feature-screen of the selected access LEVEL will appear. LEVEL 1 for example: LOW TEMP ALARM ALARM ENABLE: YES ALARM SETPT: 60.0 F To scroll through the screens within a LEVEL, continuously press the SELECT key. 4 4 Keypad A-Tech-20 Controller Operation Manual (04/02/01) The membrane keypad is the center of operations for the A-Tech-20 controller. It is mounted on the front of the unit and is used to turn the unit on and off, change setpoints, and program other functions. CONFIG MENU RUN TIMES ALARM LOG I/O SET BACK TEMP SETPT HUMID SETPT ESCAPE SELECT ALARM MUTE ON-OFF KEY ALARM ENTER 1) CONFIG MENU key - allows the user to enter different access levels that enhance controller programming capabilities. 2) RUN TIME key - allows the user to review a log of how long (in hours) different unit components have been operating. 3) ALARM LOG key - reviews the alarms that have occurred for a given unit, including the date and time the alarm occurred. 4) I/O key - allows the user to view the digital and analog input and output signals for monitoring current system parameters. 5) SET BACK key - allows the user to set the date, time, day, and setback features. 6) TEMP SETPT key - allows the user to directly access the current temperature setpoint setting, allowing him/her to modify the setpoint, if desired. 7) HUMID SETPT key - allows the user to directly access the current relative humidity setpoint setting, allowing him/ her to modify the setpoint, if desired. 8) ESCAPE key - like the ESC key of a personal computer, the ESCAPE key allows the user to void data changes if user does not wish to change the settings. This key also moves the user to the HOME screen. 9) SELECT key - allows the user to select (choose) the specific function in which he/she would like to address by scrolling through different informational screens. 10) ALARM MUTE key - mutes (silences) an audible alarm signal in the event of an alarm. 11) ON-OFF key/light - turns the unit ON and OFF. If the light in the center of the button is illuminated, the unit is ON. 12) KEY ALARM key/light - allows the user to view the most current alarm condition when it occurs. If the light in the center of the button is illuminated, an alarm condition is present. 13) UP/DOWN ARROW keys - allows user to adjust data values when in programming mode. 14) ENTER key -This key is used to accept data changes and/or to move the cursor to specific adjustable data fields within the system. CAUTION: Use only your finger tips for pressing down on the A-Tech-20's pressure sensitive membrane keys. The use of any foreign object (eg.: pencil, pen, screwdriver,... etc.) MAY DAMAGE the membrane keys. Your warranty does not cover such damage!

5 A-Tech-20 Controller Operation Manual (04/02/01) 5 INTRODUCTION: Congratulations on your purchase of the A-Tech-20 (AT20) microprocessor controller from Stulz Air Technology Systems, Inc. The A-TECH-20 Microprocessor Control System is an advanced temperature and humidity controller designed specifically for the unique requirements of SATS CyberAiR precision air conditioners and their applications. This unequaled system incorporates high performance and reliability with ease of use to create a truly automatic system. AT20 SOFTWARE ARCHITECTURE: AT20 system operations can be visually monitored and/or customized via five easy-to-access levels (LEVELS 0, 1, 2, 3 & 4). Each CyberAiR air conditioner s AT20 has been factory-preprogrammed prior to shipment, and therefore, most applications require field startup or program adjustment beyond setting the current Time and Date. However, the factory default system settings can be easily user-adjusted from the AT20 s keypad-display. Note: Located on pages 26 thru 31 of this manual is an outline of the features available in each of the AT20 s Level-0 thru Level-4. This outline also includes each feature s factory default setting and available adjustable range, if applicable. This outline will be referenced throughout this manual, and may become the user s only required reference to access system features. PROGRAM ORGANIZATION: As stated above, the AT20 software is organized into five user-friendly and customer accessible program levels: LEVEL 0 features are available directly by pressing select function-keys located on the AT20 s keypad-display. Level-0 features are typically user accessible without the use of a password, unless the AT20 s Keypad-Lockout is activated (see Keypad- Lockout, page 16). LEVELS 1 thru 4 features are security access protected, and therefore, require password entry prior to accessing. Note: Refer to the AT20 configuration outline for a complete list of the features available in each of the respective AT20 Access-Levels. 1.0 GENERAL SYSTEM OPERATIONS: All features located in LEVELS 0 thru 4 can be accessed and adjusted by using the following step-bystep procedures. These procedures will be referred to throughout this manual: 1.1 LEVEL 0 Access & Adjustments: Press the desired Level 0 FUNCTION key onetime. The first feature-screen of the current FUNCTION will appear. The flashing-cursor will default to the upper left corner of the current featurescreen. Press the ENTER key one-time to move the flashing-cursor to the first adjustable data-field within the current feature-screen. Press the UP or DOWN ARROW key to adjust the current data-field s value. When satisfied with the data-field value adjustment, press the ENTER key one-time to accept the data entry. At this point, the user has a number of choices: If more than one adjustable data-field is available within the current feature-screen, the flashing-cursor will move to the next adjustable data-field. The user can now press the UP or DOWN ARROW key to adjust this data-field. Similar to above, the user would press the ENTER key one-time to accept the data entry. If available, the flashing-cursor will move to the next adjustable data-field within the current feature-screen. If an adjustable data-field is not available, the flashingcursor will move to the upper left corner of the current feature-screen. If additional feature-screens are available within the current FUNCTION, the user can press the SELECT key one-time to advance to the next available featurescreen. As well, the user can continuously press the SELECT key to advance directly to a specific adjustable feature-screen within the current FUNCTION. When the desired feature-screen is located, the user can follow the steps as described above to adjust the data-field(s) within this featurescreen. Note: Please refer to the A-Tech-20 s configuration outline on pages This outline details the specific A-Tech-20 feature-screens and their adjustable data-fields.

6 6 A-Tech-20 Controller Operation Manual (04/02/01) Or, if the user does not wish to view the current or make changes to additional data-fields within the current FUNCTION, the user can elect the following ESCAPE key operations to back-out of the current program location: ESCAPE key Operations: If the flashing-cursor is currently located under an adjustable data-field, pressing the ESCAPE key onetime will move the flashing-cursor to the upper left corner of the current feature-screen, as was the case when the current feature-screen was initially accessed. Pressing the ESCAPE key one-time again (two-times total) will screen-return back to the initial current FUNCTION S feature-screen with the flashing-cursor located in the upper left corner of this screen. Pressing the ESCAPE key one-time again (three-times total) will screen-return back to the HOME screen. 1.2 LEVEL 1 thu 4 Access & Adjustments: As previously stated, LEVEL 1 thru 4 features are security password protected, and are accessed as follows: Press the CONFIG MENU key one-time. The following screen will appear with the flashing-cursor located in the upper left corner: ENTER PASSWORD: 0000 Security Passwords: The AT20 offers quantity two security-level passwords. One for LEVEL 1 access and one for LEVELS 2 thru 4 access. This enables the owner to both lookout unauthorized access to all program levels, as well as, to vary the type of program level access to select authorized personnel. (Note: The AT20 factory default security-level 1 password for LEVEL 1 access is 0001, and the factory default security-level 2 password for LEVELS 2, 3 & 4 access is Passwords can be personalized via the first LEVEL 3 feature-screen, see page 19 for instructions.) 1.3 LEVEL 1 Access: Using the same data-field adjustment procedures as previously described for LEVEL 0 programming, press the ENTER key one-time to move the flashingcursor to the adjustable password data-field: ENTER PASSWORD: 0000 With the current password data-field value equal to 0000, press the UP ARROW key one-time to adjust the password data-field to 0001: ENTER PASSWORD: 0001 Press the ENTER key one-time to accept the 0001 password entry. Wait approximately 5 seconds, and the following menu-screen will appear with the flashing-cursor located in the upper left corner: MENU LEVEL 1: MENU LEVEL 2: MENU LEVEL 3: MENU LEVEL 4: As with all screens that contain adjustable datafields, press the ENTER key one-time to move the flashing-cursor to the first available adjustable datafield, MENU LEVEL 1: in this case: MENU LEVEL 1: MENU LEVEL 2: MENU LEVEL 3: MENU LEVEL 4: To access LEVEL 1, simply press the UP or DOWN ARROW key one-time to adjust the data-field value from to YES. Then, press the ENTER key onetime to accept the YES entry: MENU LEVEL 1: MENU LEVEL 2: MENU LEVEL 3: MENU LEVEL 4: YES The first feature-screen of LEVEL 1 will appear with the flashing-cursor in the upper left corner: LOW TEMP ALARM ALARM ENABLE: YES ALARM SETPT: 60.0 F The user can either follow the previously described procedures for adjusting data-field values or the user can press the SELECT key one-time for each screen-advance to the desired feature-screen available in LEVEL 1.

7 A-Tech-20 Controller Operation Manual (04/02/01) LEVEL 2 thru 4 Access: LEVELS 2 thru 4 are accessed similarly to LEVEL 1, only the security-level 2 password value is required. As previously stated, the factory default password for LEVEL 2 thru 4 access is 9998: ENTER PASSWORD: 9998 (Note: The security-level 2 password allows user access to all four program LEVELS including LEVEL 1. If desired, see page 19 for instructions on personalizing password values.) LEVEL-2, 3 & 4 feature-screen advancing and datafield adjusting require the same procedures as described previously for LEVEL 0 and LEVEL 1. (Refer the AT20 configuration outline on pages 26 to 31 for a list of the available LEVEL 2, 3 & 4 feature-screens and their adjustable data-fields.) 1.5 Controller: Powering The A-Tech-20 system is powered entirely by a Class 2 24-VAC transformer mounted in the unit. No additional power connections are required. When power is initially connected to the A-Tech-20 microprocessor controller, the following screen will display for approximately 3 seconds: system status items: Current Temperature Setpoint Current Relative Humidity Setpoint Current programmed Date & Time In addition, the HOME screen displays the unit number for multiple unit configurations and the current unit operational status conditions: System ON Heat System OFF Humidify Initializing Delay Heat/Humidify Cool Manual Mode Cool/Humidify Cool Lockout Dehumidify Standby Dehum/Reheat Startup after a power loss: At the time of first-time power initiation and each time the power is disabled and then re-enabled, the POWER RESTART alarm will be enabled. This is to alert the user that at some resent time, the A-Tech-20, and most likely, the air conditioning system, lost power. As a part of the standard startup procedure for the A-Tech-20, the user can simply acknowledge and clear this alarm as follows: If desired, press the ALARM MUTE key one-time to silence the alarm. Press the ALARM key one-time. The following screen will appear: ** ALARM ** DAY/YR TIME POWER RESTART ATS CYBERAIR A-TECH-20 XXX SOFTWARE VER (Note: The XXX will display a system code representing the program configuration that was initialed at the SATS factory prior to shipment of the respective system. This code plus the software version number may be useful in the future when communicating with SATS Product Support Group.) 1.6 The HOME Screen: After the above screen displays for approximately 3 seconds, the display will switch to the A-Tech-20 system default screen, or HOME screen: U1 01/01/00 10:00 AM TEMP SETPT: 72.0 F HUMID SETPT: 50%RH SYSTEM ON As shown, the HOME screen displays the following Now press the SELECT key one-time. Assuming there are no other alarms present, the following screen will appear: MORE ALARMS KEY ENTER TO CLEAR KEY ALARM TO VIEW KEY SELECT TO SCROLL As shown, this screen displays 3 possible choices for the user: 1) Press the ENTER key one-time to clear the alarm condition or 2) Press the ALARM key one-time to view the above **ALARM** condition screen, or 3) Press the SELECT key continuously to scroll through and view all current (not cleared) alarm conditions. During initial startup, the user can simply perform step 1 above to clear the POWER RESTART alarm condition.

8 8 A-Tech-20 Controller Operation Manual (04/02/01) 2.0 Level 0 Setup and Operation: LEVEL 0 offers direct access to system settings, space conditions, temperature and humidity setpoints by using the provided keypad buttons. Features in this level are available to be viewed or changed whenever the unit is turned ON. CONFIG MENU RUN TIMES ALARM LOG I/O SET BACK TEMP SETPT HUMID SETPT Press the ENTER key one-time to move the flashingcursor to the TEMP SETPT adjustable data-field: TEMP SETPT: 72.0 F ACTUAL TEMP: XX.X F <PRESS ENTER TO> <CHANGE SETPOINT> Press the UP or DOWN ARROW key to raise or lower the temperature setpoint to the desired value. For example, suppose the TEMP SETPT is adjusted from 72.0 F to 74.0 F: ESCAPE SELECT ALARM MUTE ON-OFF KEY ALARM ENTER TEMP SETPT: 74.0 F ACTUAL TEMP: XX.X F <PRESS ENTER TO> <CHANGE SETPOINT> 2.1 The ON-OFF Key: After power has been properly connected to the A-Tech- 20 controller, the user can turn the unit ON to begin operation by pressing the ON-OFF key. The light in the center of the ON-OFF key will illuminate; and the bottom line of the HOME screen will display the current system operational status: To accept this value, press the ENTER key one-time: TEMP SETPT: 74.0 F ACTUAL TEMP: XX.X F <DATA ACCEPTED> Note: The factory default adjustable temperature setpoint range is set for a minimum 68 F to a maximum 80 F. Please refer to page 18 for details on adjusting SETPOINT LIMITS. U1 01/01/00 10:00 AM TEMP SETPT: 72.0 F HUMID SETPT: 50%RH SYSTEM ON Set Current DATE and TIME First: It is recommended that before proceeding with any further system setups or adjustments, that the user set the current DATE and TIME. See page 10 for these procedures. 2.2 TEMP SETPT Key: Temperature Setpoint and Adjustment To adjust the temperature setpoint: Press the TEMP SETPT key one-time. The temperature setpoint feature-screen will appear with the flashing-cursor located in the upper left corner: TEMP SETPT: 72.0 F ACTUAL TEMP: XX.X F <PRESS ENTER TO> <CHANGE SETPOINT> The user will be presented with the current temperature setpoint (72 F above) and the current actual room temperature conditions (XX.X F above). 2.3 HUMID SETPT Key: Adjusting the Humidity Setpoint The humidity setpoint is adjusted via the HUMID SETPT key and follows the same procedures as described previously for adjusting the temperature setpoint. HUMID SETPT: 50.0%RH ACTUAL HUMID: XX.X%RH <USE UP/DOWN ARROW> <KEY TO CHANGE DATA> Note: The factory default adjustable relative humidity setpoint range is set for a minimum 30% RH to a maximum 60% RH. Please refer to page 18 for details on adjusting SETPOINT LIMITS. 2.4 SELECT Key: When the HOME screen is the current display, the user can repeatedly press the SELECT key to view the following LEVEL 0 features: ACTUAL CONDITIONS feature-screen: Starting from the HOME screen, press the SELECT key one-time to view the current actual space dry-bulb temperature and relative humidity readings:

9 A-Tech-20 Controller Operation Manual (04/02/01) 9 ACTUAL CONDITIONS TEMPERATURE: 72.5 F HUMIDITY: 49.8% RH 24-HOUR MIN/MAX feature-screen: Then press the SELECT key again (two-times from HOME screen), to view the highest and lowest dry-bulb temperature and relative humidity readings recorded over the last 24-hour period: 24 HOUR MIN/MAX MIN MAX TEMP: 68.5 F 76.4 F HUM: 45.4%RH 58.0%RH TE: These screens are read-only, and therefore, no changes can be made to them. 2.5 RUN TIMES Key: This program feature displays the number of hours individual unit components have been operating. To view the run-times of the unit s components, press the RUN TIMES key one-time: RUN HOURS EVAP BLOWER: 0015HRS To view each available component RUN HOURS featurescreen, repeatedly press the SELECT key. The run times that can be monitored include, if applicable: Evaporator Blower Chilled Water Valve Compressor 1 Freecooling Valve Compressor 2 AWS Valve Humidifier Note: The maximum number of hours that can be shown for any one component is 9999, at which time the hours will roll over to CONFIG MENU Key: As discussed previously, the CONFIG MENU key is used to access the upper-level (LEVELS 1 thru 4) features. Pressing the CONFIG MENU key one-time displays the ENTER PASSWORD feature-screen: ENTER PASSWORD: 0000 Refer to page 6 for details on how to access the upperlevel features. 2.7 ALARM LOG Key: The A-Tech-20 controller provides users with a recorded history of the past 25 alarms, including the time and date of the alarm. To access the alarm history, press the ALARM LOG key one-time. The ALARM LOG HISTORY feature-screen display with the flashing-cursor located in the upper left corner: ALARM LOG HISTORY ALARM NUMBER: 05 POWER RESTART: 01/01/00 10:00AM The first screen to display will be the last alarm recorded. In the above example screen, the POWER RESTART alarm was the last alarm recorded. The alarm occurred on January 1, 2000 at 10:00 a.m., and it was the 5th alarm recorded. As with all A-Tech-20 feature-screen operations, to view additional feature-screens, in this case, the previous four (4) alarms: Press the ENTER key one-time to move the flashing-cursor to the ALARM NUMBER adjustable datafield: ALARM LOG HISTORY ALARM NUMBER: 05 POWER RESTART: 01/01/00 10:00AM Press the SELECT key repeatedly to screenadvance to the remaining, previously recorded, unit alarms: ALARM LOG HISTORY ALARM NUMBER: 04 POWER RESTART: 01/01/00 10:00AM TE: These screens are read-only, and therefore, no changes can be made. 2.8 I/O Key: The A-Tech-20 is capable of both digital (on/off) and analog (proportional) input and output device control and monitoring. To view the current status of the digital and analog signal connections that are wired to the controller: Press the I/O key one-time. The following featurescreen will display with the flashing-cursor located in the upper left corner:

10 10 A-Tech-20 Controller Operation Manual (04/02/01) INPUTS/OUTPUTS VIEW INPUTS: VIEW OUTPUTS: The user can view either the current system INPUTS or OUTPUTS by using the standard A-Tech-20 featurescreen operations as described previously. For example, to view the current system INPUTS: Press the ENTER key one-time to move the flashingcursor to the first available adjustable data-field: SETBACK Enable and Setup Set the current DATE and TIME first: Set Date/Time/ Day Feature: Y2K Compliant Using the previously described LEVEL 0 FUNCTION key standard operation: Press the SETBACK / CLOCK key one-time. The following feature-screen will display: INPUTS/OUTPUTS VIEW INPUTS: VIEW OUTPUTS: Press the UP or DOWN ARROW key one-time to change the VIEW INPUTS adjustable data-field value from to YES. INPUTS/OUTPUTS VIEW INPUTS: YES VIEW OUTPUTS: Press the ENTER key one-time to accept the YES entry. The first available INPUT feature-screen will display (for example): DIGITAL INPUTS REMOTE SHUTDOWN: HIGH AIR PROVING: HIGH DIRTY FILTER: HIGH For this feature, the flashing-cursor in the upper left corner indicates that additional viewable featurescreens may be available. TE: The current Day-of-the-Week setting is not automatically updated when the DATE is entered or updated. The A- Tech-20 is Y2K compliant and will only function correctly if this data is entered manually and accurately. When satisfied with the entries, the user can either press the ESCAPE key to back-out of the current location or he or she can wait for the automatic DATA ENTRY TIMEOUT. (See page 16 for DATA ENTRY TIMEOUT feature description.) TIMECLOCK Feature: (5-2 Day) The TIMECLOCK feature automatically turns the unit ON (START) at a preset time, then automatically turns the unit OFF (STOP) again at another preset time. The user can set a 5-day (weekly) program and 2-day (weekend) program. For example, the A-Tech-20 can be programmed to turn the unit ON when the space is occupied at 7:00 a.m. just before employees arrive for the day, and turn OFF at 6:00 p.m. when the workers leave for the day, unoccupied. The 7:00 a.m. START and 6:00 p.m. STOP setup could be the Monday-Friday (5-day weekday) program, and a second setup could be configured for the Saturday-Sunday (2-day weekend) program. The user is able to set the time so that the system should be enabled and disabled. The timeclock uses a 5 day/2 day schedule for the start/stop times. For example, suppose the user selects 7:00 a.m. as the start time and 6:00 p.m. as the stop time for Monday through Friday and 7:00 a.m. as the start time and 6:00 p.m. as the stop time for Saturday through Sunday. The system will start at 7:00 a.m. each morning and shut down at 6:00 p.m. every evening. If the Saturday and Sunday schedule was configured as 7:00 a.m. start and 7:00 a.m. stop, the controller will keep the system off for the entire duration. The controller will remain OFF when the start and stop time are set to the same time. Then, during the space unoccupied nighttime periods of 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. the next morning, the temperature setpoint automatically relaxes to 77 F. Then again, the A-Tech-20 automatically reverts the temperature setpoint back to 72 F during daytime occupied periods of 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Note: The enabling (activating) and setting of the NIGHT SETBACK feature is very similar to that of the TIMECLOCK feature SETBACK ENABLE: As with the TIMECLOCK feature, the NIGHT SETBACK feature is not ENABLED as a factory default. ALARMS The A-Tech-20 Controller will alert the user to a number of alarm conditions. Each respective alarm can be user defined as ALARM ENABLED: YES (active) or (inactive). At the SATS factory, each A-Tech-20 controller is programmed to a logical active/inactive state for each of the High/Low Temperature and Humidity Alarms. This is to limit nuisance-type alarms that may occur because of conditions inherent to a particular application of system and that are not critical to system operation. Example: If low humidity is not critical to a particular application, and therefore, the air conditioning unit is not equipped with a Humidifier, the Low Humidity Alarm can be set to an inactive state.) 3.1 Temperature Alarms The Room Temperature Alarm notifies users when the temperature in the conditioned space is below the low temperature alarm setpoint or above the high temperature alarm setpoint. To avoid nuisance alarms, users cannot set the low and high temperature alarm setpoint closer than the setpoint + deadband + 5 F (+differential if there are two stages of cooling). The flashing-cursor will return to the upper left corner of the display. 3.4 Alarm Relays 71 F 73 F 74 F 75 F 76 F 77 F 78 F 79 F 80 F 81 F 72 F Setpoint When the temperature in the conditioned space reaches the deadband limit the first stage of cooling turns ON. When the temperature in the conditioned space reaches the deadband limit the second stage of cooling turns ON. When the temperature in the conditioned space reaches the high temp setpoint, the high temperature alarm is activated. Diagram 3.1, for example, illustrates the lowest possible high temperature alarm setpoint is 80 F, assuming a temperature setpoint of 72 F, a first stage cool dead band of 2 F and a second stage interstage differential of 1 F: 72 F (setpt) + 2 F (db) + 1 F (diff) + 5 F (rise)= 80 F 3.2 Relative Humidity Alarms The Relative Humidity Alarm notifies users when the humidity in the conditioned space is at or below the low humidity alarm setpoint or it notifies users when the humidity level is above the high humidity alarm setpoint. LOW HUMID ALARM ALARM ENABLE: YES ALARM SETPT: 30.0%RH HIGH HUMID ALARM ALARM ENABLE: YES ALARM SETPT: 70.0%RH TE: Please refer to Temperature Alarm instructions while adjusting the Relative Humidity Alarm as the same functions are used in both adjustments. 3.3 Dirty Filter Alarm The DIRTY FILTER ALARM notifies users when the pressure drop across the filter is too high and the filter requires replacement. DIRTY FILTER ALARM ALARM ENABLE: YES The A-Tech-20 alerts to the following alarm conditions (if applicable): High Temperature Low Temperature High Humidity Low Humidity High Head Pressure Low Suction Pressure Sensor Failure Power Loss Loss of Air Flow Dirty Filter Water Detection Smoke Detection Fire Alarm Pump Failure Communication Failure Custom 1 Failure In the event of an alarm, the user can elect to have the summary and custom alarm relay reset manually or automatically. ALARM RELAYS SUMMARY: LATCHED CUSTOM 1: LATCHED ALARM RELAYS can either be set to an ACTIVE or LATCHED state. During the ACTIVE state, the relay will de-energize automatically after the alarm condition returns to normal. During the LATCHED state, the user must manually clear the alarm before the alarm relay deenergizes. 3.5 Evaporator Blower Setting: The A-Tech-20 offers two types of evaporator blower control operation: BLOWER OPERATION BLOWER ALWAYS ON: YES When the BLOWER ALWAYS ON: adjustable data-field is set to YES, the evaporator blower will operate continually when the air conditioning unit is ON. When the BLOWER ALWAYS ON: the adjustable data-field is set to, the evaporator blower will

Note: For most applications, continually operating the evaporator blower is recommended for the best space temperature and humidity control. 3.6 Temperature Unit of Measure The A-Tech-20 is capable of displaying temperature in degrees Fahrenheit ( F) or Centigrade ( C). The temperature unit of measure is user-selected via the TEMPERATURE UNITS feature-screen: TEMPERATURE UNITS UNITS: FAHRENHEIT 3.7 Data Entry Timeout: The user is allowed up to 120 seconds of DATA ENTRY TIME from the last point which a membrane key is pressed. If a membrane key is not pressed within that duration, the controller will default back to the HOME screen. If the controller defaults before adjustments are complete, simply return to the screen and continue. All CyberAiR air conditioners temperature and/or humidity control utilize a deadband and/or interstage differential control logic: Deadband is the number of degrees or percent RH above or below the room setpoint temperature or humidity can go before the first stage of heating, cooling, humidification or dehumidification starts. Stage Differential is the number of degrees or percent RH above or below the room temperature or humidity setpoint plus deadband that the temperature can go before the second stage of cooling, heating or reheating starts.
