2 Installation Instructions Preparation 1. Read these instructions thoroughly and ensure all steps are understood before performing installation. Installation of this product constitutes agreement with the terms of the Limited Warranty below. 2. Locate a switched 12V DC power source and good vehicle ground for gauge power. An automotive electrician should be consulted if there are questions on appropriate power connections. 3. Disconnect battery ground. Thermocouple Probe Installation 1. The Thermocouple Probe is provided with a compression style 1/8 th inch NPT fitting for general-purpose installation. A common installation method is to drill a 5/16 th inch hole into the exhaust manifold and tap it for 1/8 th inch NPT. Hose clamp and weld on style fittings are available as alternate mounting methods if desired. It is recommended that an engine expert be consulted if there are questions on probe placement for your specific application. Precautions should be taken to prevent metal shavings from entering the turbo if the manifold is drilled. 2. Once the NPT threaded end of the compression fitting has been installed it can be tightened on the thermocouple shaft. Ensure that the thermocouple depth is near the center of the exhaust stream and not in contact with interior walls when tightening the compression fitting. 3. Route the connector end of the braided cable through the firewall and towards the desired gauge location. Care should be taken to not kink the cable. Digital Gauge Installation 1. The Digital Gauge comes with a 3M Dual Lock fastener for attachment to the vehicle dash. 3M Dual Lock is re-closable and similar to Velcro but uses a more advanced attaching method that will pop into place. One piece of the Dual Lock is placed on the Dash and the other piece on the Digital Gauge. The 3M Dual Lock fastener has a very high bond clear acrylic adhesive that is intended to permanently attach it to most surfaces. Ensure that the fastener is accurately located when the adhesive is exposed. Choose a dry location to mount the Digital Gauge. Clean the mounting surfaces to ensure it is free of oils or other contaminants (do not use a vinyl protectant or other cleaner that might leave a residue). Separate the two pieces of 3M Dual Lock. Remove the adhesive liner and attach one piece to the dash and the other to the back of the Digital Gauge applying firm pressure with your fingers. The Digital Gauge can now be attached and removed from the dash as needed

3 2. Refer to Wiring Diagram - A. Attach the red wire to a switched 12V DC power supply. Attach the black wire to a good vehicle ground. Connect the red / black wire connector and the Thermocouple connector to the Digital Gauge mating connectors. The connectors are individually keyed to prevent improper installation. 3. Attach the Digital Gauge to the dash and secure any wire slack under the dash. Reconnect the battery ground. Wiring Diagram A

4 Operating Instructions The DA100 Digital Pyrometer provides the Operator with several monitoring and interface modes. In general the gauge will display the thermocouple temperature until a button is pressed. Initially, pressing the Up Button or Down Button will cause the alarm setpoint to be displayed. Pressing the Up Button or Down Button also makes adjustments to parameters based on which mode you are in. Pressing the Up Button and Down Button at the same time will allow you to scroll through the different operating modes. See below for details: Temperature Display Mode Under normal operations the Digital Gauge will display the Thermocouple Probe Temperature. The Gauge will read Thermocouple Probe Temperatures between 40 Deg. F and 1850 Deg. F. For ease of reading the temperature is updated once a second. Alarm Setpoint Mode While in the Temperature Display Mode, pressing the Up Button or Down Button will cause the Gauge to enter the Alarm Setpoint Mode. In this mode the Gauge will display the Alarm Setpoint. The Alarm Setpoint is changed in increments of 10 by pressing or holding the Up Button or Down Button in the desired adjustment direction. If no buttons are pressed within 3 seconds the display will return to the Temperature Display Mode. (Note that alarm setpoints vary depending on application and operator preference. It is recommended that an engine expert be consulted if there are questions on maximum desirable EGTs for your specific application.)

5 Alarm Activated Mode While in the Temperature Display Mode, if the Thermocouple Probe Temperature reaches or exceeds the Alarm Setpoint the Alarm is Activated. In this mode the Gauge will continue to display the Thermocouple Probe Temperature with the Alarm Light and Buzzer ON. Once the Thermocouple Probe Temperature falls below the Alarm Setpoint the Buzzer and Alarm Light will turn OFF. (Note that if it is desired to Silence the Buzzer during an alarm the Up Button or Down Button can be pressed to enter the Alarm Setpoint Mode ) Brightness Mode Initially, pressing the Up Button and Down Button at the same time will cause the Gauge to enter the Brightness Mode. The Gauge Brightness Level can be adjusted from 1 (dimmest) to 5 (brightest). The Brightness Level can be adjusted by pressing or holding the Up Button or Down Button in the desired adjustment direction. If no buttons are pressed within 3 seconds the display will return to the Temperature Display Mode.

6 Peak Recall Mode Pressing the Up Button and Down Button at the same time again (while in the Brightness Mode ) will cause the Gauge to enter the Peak Recall Mode. The DA100 remembers the highest read temperature and in this mode the Gauge will display the Peak (highest) Temperature since the last time that it was reset. The Peak Temperature can be reset by holding the Up Button or Down Button for two seconds. Once reset the Gauge will Display If no buttons are pressed within 3 seconds the display will return to the Temperature Display Mode. Connection Failure Mode In the Event that the Thermocouple wires (T+, T-) are disconnected or broken the Gauge will in most cases enter the Connection Failure Mode. In this mode the Gauge will Display Conn with the Alarm Light and Buzzer ON. Pressing the Up Button or Down Button will cause the alarm to be silenced. (Note that this feature may not detect all instances of a broken or disconnected wire) Low Temperature Mode In the Event that the Thermocouple Probe Temperature falls below 40 Deg. F the Gauge will enter the Low Temperature Mode. In this mode the Gauge will Display -Lo-.

This warranty applies to the first retail purchaser and only to products exposed to normal use and service as described in these instructions. Items shipped to Dooley Automotive Group LLC for warranty repair require owner paid postage and a copy of the original receipt indicating the purchase date. If it is determined by Dooley Automotive Group LLC that the product failed under the terms of this warranty it will be repaired or replaced at Dooley Automotive Group LLCs option. This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of Dooley Automotive Group LLC manufactured products. In no event shall this warranty exceed the original purchase price of the Dooley Automotive Group LLC manufactured product. Dooley Automotive Group LLC shall not be responsible for special, incidental or consequential damages or costs incurred due to the failure of our product.
