Served on the 2018 Means of Egress Committee This experience will allow me to quickly understand how code revisions will affect the overall safet and enforcibility of the egress provisions. For over 20 years, developed means of egress to meet code and owner requirements for a wide range of occupancies and building types, and in new and existing structures. Examples include: arenas, stadiums, airports, high-rises, large mixed use, large assembly, large retail, factory, business, detention; healthcare, special hazards, and transit. This experience will be directly relevant to the various code changes, by applying my in-depth understanding of the means of egress requirements to the various changes and understanding how the potential changes will affect a wide range of projects. Developed egress solutions on four continents. These international projects give me insight into how engineers and enforcers with varying abilities use the ICC codes. Led Arup s team to provide life safety and egress advice to the National Construction Safety Team investigation of The Station nightclub fire in West Warwick, RI (selected by NIST). Through this forensic assignment, I have gained significant insight into the overall intent of the egress provisions. Recognized leader on NFPA, ASHRAE and SFPE technical committees (see attached). 4 Through more then a decade and a half of committee service, I have an expert understanding of code language and how code revisions affect other portions of the code. Arup s Global Evacuation and Human Behavior Skills leader. Through coordinating egress training and knowledge trasnfer for 200 staff in offices across four continents, I understand specific pitfalls for engineers new to the ICC codes. Reviewed access and accessibility for a wide range of new and existing occupancies. This experience provides me a good working knowledge of the ICC accessibility provisions. 3.
