3 PRODUCT OVERVIEW General The Room Pressure Monitor Deluxe (PMX) is intended to provide intelligent pressure monitoring of isolation room and critical environments. Using the latest in microcontroller and sensor technologies, the PMX can measure extremely small pressures and display the readings on the local LCD display and over a BACnet network connection. PMX has support for up to 2 room pressure sensor (RPS) modules and can simultaneously monitor a primary and secondary (Ante) room. 6 PRODUCT OVERVIEW Optional Accessories The PMX has an option for a remote nurses station. The nurses station can select between Isolation or Setback mode. Please ensure you have the correct Nurses' station for your isolation room. NURSE STATION KEYSWITCH - KEYLESS NOTE: Due to unpredictable location of Nurses station wiring/ cabling is by others. Recommend AWG copper 6 conductor plenum rated wire. The maximum distance the Nurses' station can be mounted from the PMX monitor is 100 feet. Another option is a surface mount door switch which will tell the PMX when door(s) are left open. These are wired to the binary inputs. (Dry Contacts, no voltage.) 7 INSTALLATION & MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS Isolation Room with Ante/ Secondary Room The PMX supports ANTE/Secondary rooms with the addition of another RPS assembly. Simply connect the 2nd RPS to the RJ12 port labeled Secondary Sensor. However there are different options for the pressurization strategy when multiple RPS sensors are used. Such as those shown here. Once you have selected the monitoring strategy needed, you can begin mounting components. 8 INSTALLATION & MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS Single Isolation Room Ensure you have all components necessary for installation. Inspect components for signs of shipping/handling damage. Do not proceed if you suspect any components are damaged. 1. Mount the Price Room Pressure Monitor Deluxe (PMX) enclosure in the plenum space above the door to the room to be monitored. Price recommends mounting the unit in the hallway servicing the room to be monitored. The PC must NOT be installed outdoors or in an enclosure that is outdoors. The PC is not environmentally rated for mounting in these locations. Using 4 screws (by others) mount the PC enclosure horizontally to a flat, secure and accessible surface. Ensure the electrician can access the terminal blocks/disconnect switch. 2. Next install the Room Pressure sensor (RPs) assembly. The RPsMain sensor should be installed in the hallway using the drywall bracket supplied. The RPs-Reference sensor must be installed within 12 inches of the Main Sensor. NOTE: The Main Sensor has a black cable connector and brass airflow nipple, while the Reference Sensor only has a brass airflow nipple (Sensor made of fire retardant antibacterial plastic). 3. Mount the Room Pressure Interface near the doorway using a standard electrical box or drywall anchors (by others) at a height of 5 feet. Ensure LED bars are not blocked by other devices on wall (Interface made of stainless steel with fire retardant plastic sensor cover). 9 NORMAL ALARM ROOM PRESSURE MONITOR DELUXE R INSTALLATION & MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS CRITICAL CONTROLS Control Number Typical Wiring Ensure proper voltage is available for the PMX transformer in the enclosure. Double check all labels and wiring before applying high voltage. NOTE: The PMX is a 24 VAC low voltage controller. Do not apply any voltage above 24 VAC to controller. 1. Ensure disconnect switch is off. Route high voltage line to L1/L2(N) terminal block using knockout/cable clamp (by others). 2. Connect green RJ12 (telephone type 6 position) cable to jack labeled Primary Sensor on PMX. Connect the other end with the black (locking) connector into RPS-Main. Ensure cable is not twisted, kinked or pinched during installation. The green LED above Primary Sensor will be green when powered up and functioning properly. 3. Connect blue RJ45 (network type 8 position) cable to jack labeled RPI on PMX. Connect the other end to the RPI mounted on the wall. 10 NORMAL ALARM ROOM PRESSURE MONITOR DELUXE INSTALLATION & MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS R Advanced Wiring Control Sequence CRITICAL CONTROLS Number This section covers advanced wiring that includes BACnet MS/TP option, ANTE room (secondary sensor), binary inputs (door switches), and binary outputs (alarms). NOTE: All terminals labels COM are tied to 24 VAC common. Please observe polarity at all times. 1. BACnet MS/TP wiring can be done using the 3 position pluggable terminal block or the Price RJ45 connection. Ensure proper 24 VAC hot/common polarity between all devices! Also ensure 24 VAC common is earth grounded. Set BAUD rates and addresses using the SERVICE MENU on the RPI. 2. If monitoring an ANTE/Secondary room connect the second RPS assembly to the RJ12 port labeled Secondary Sensor. A green LED indicates proper connection/power. 3. There are 2 Binary Inputs (BI1, BI2). These are wired to optional door switches. BI1 monitors the primary room, while BI2 monitors the secondary room. Default type is intended for normally closed type switches. Note: These are dry contacts. No voltage should ever be applied. See the SERVICE MENU for configuration options. 11 INSTALLATION & MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS PMX Default Sequence of Operations The PMX can function in standalone mode (not networked to any building automation systems (BAS)) or can be integrated using the BACnet MS/TP port. When configured for single (primary) room operation the PMX can be set to monitor POSITIVE or NEGATIVE pressure. Alarms for LOW/HIGH pressure are fully field configurable. The PMX has 3 primary modes: Mode Status LCD Display LED Bars Alarm Negative/Positive Pressure Monitoring (Room Active) Negative/Positive Pressure Monitoring (Room Occupied) Neutral (Room Unoccupied) SAFE - Pressure reading within LOW / HIGH set points ALARM - Pressure reading within LOW / HIGH set points UNOCCUPIED Pressure measured but no alarms Primary Room W.C. ALARM! W.C. Primary Room Unoccupied GREEN RED BLUE OFF ON OFF Occupied SAFE (proper pressure detected) Occupied ALARM (pressure out of range either low or high set point) Unoccupied Pressure monitored and displayed but no alarms When occupied the PMX will monitor and display the primary room pressure. If the pressure reading is within the LOW and HIGH alarm set points the LED bars will be green and the alarm will be off. If the pressure reading is outside of either the LOW or HIGH alarm set points the LED bars will turn RED and the local (RPI-Standard) alarm will turn on. If networked using BACnet a variable will show the type of alarm. If the Room Pressure Sensor (RPS) is unplugged from the PMX while in occupied mode the LED bars will turn RED and the alarm will turn on. priceindustries.com ROOM PRESSURE MONITOR DELUXE - Manual 9

12 INSTALLATION & MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS Commissioning of PMX When first powered up (and startup screens have been displayed) the RPI will display: PMX Awaiting Setup To access the service menu hold Enter Menu for 5 seconds. This menu is password protected for safety. Please contact your local rep for Passcode or contact - Price Critical Controls: criticalcontrols@priceindustries.com This means the PMX has not been setup and is currently not monitoring. There are two options for setting up the PMX, either by the LCD screen or the LINKERSOFT software (latest available at priceindustries.com/software/linkersoft). The LCD screen is a convenient way to setup the PMX and allows full control of all variables through a menu system. This does not require a computer. The service menu is passcode protected to prevent typical users from changing important settings. Another option is to use the LINKER2 USB service tool with LINKERSOFT windows software. This of course requires a Windows Laptop with USB port, but offers the advantage of printing (to PDF) a commissioning report. Install the LINKERSOFT software from the USB stick included with your PMX. (Directory Linkersoft/setup.exe) After installation connect the LINKER2 to your laptop with the included USB cable. Plug the other end into your RPI (LINKER/SERVICE) using the included RJ12 to MTA-100 jack. 13 DISPLAY NAVIGATION RPI Initial Startup When the RPI is first powered from the PMX controller, it will display the following information: (Also press both UP/DOWN at same time to show this screen anytime.) PRICE ELECTRONICS Start-up screen INTERFACE STANDARD MODEL PMX interface PCC LCD V3.XX.X LCD - Firmware Version V3.xx or higher LOADING: 0-100% Loading Screen RPI Interface pulls in variables from PMX Note:a sequence number of 0 means the stat has NOT been calibrated PMX VERSION 1.XX PMX Controller - Firmware Version 1.xx or higher MAC ADDRESS 1 Displays current MAC Address (local MS/TP segment) Must be unique to MS TP segment DEVICE INST Displays current Device Instance (System address) Must be unique to building PRIMARY ROOM SETBACK After start up LCD will display default screens depending on mode of operation Occupancy Modes / Service Menu The RPM has 2 operating modes - occupied and unoccupied (sometimes referred to as setback). To change Occupancy mode: Quickly press Enter Menu button, Occ. Passcode will display. Enter: Down / Up / Up / Down Using the Up/Down button select either Isolation (alarms active) or Setback (alarms disabled). Press Enter Menu to save and exit. CONTROLLER Controller Buttons Up/Down Button Used for menu selection and adjustment - press both up and down at same time to display RPI Startup screens. Enter Menu Used to Enter service menu(s). The menu(s) are password protected. Mute Used to temporarily mute the local alarm for a certain number of minutes. Emergency Used to trigger emergency mode. 14 DISPLAY NAVIGATION Service Menu The service menu contains all setup and configuration parameters. Each PMX ships with factory defaults, but virtually all settings can be adjusted in the field. All main menus are listed on this page. Use the Wizard and/or below menus to setup the PMX for your application. To access the service menu hold Enter Menu for 5 seconds. This menu is password protected for safety. Intended to get PMX up and running quickly. Wizard runs on first power up, but can be re-run at any time. 15 DISPLAY NAVIGATION Wizard Menu The first time the PC is powered on, the connected RPI will step through the setup wizard. This allows a quick setup of the parameters needed. During the wizard, press the 'Enter Menu' button to proceed through the menus. There is no back button, so take time to ensure the correct information is entered. During the setup wizard, if incorrect information has been entered, there are two options available; 1. Proceed through the wizard and correct the information afterwards 2. Unplug the interface. This will cause the setup wizard to start from the beginning WIZARD PRI ISO MODE NEGATIVE MONITOR SECRM YES Pri Iso Mode - Primary Isolation Mode. This sets the primary room to be either positively or negatively pressured. Monitor SecRm - Monitor Secondary Room. This option enables the ability to monitor the secondary room. A secondary room pressure sensor is required. LOWPRESSALARM "W.C. Low Pressure Alarm - Set the minimum primary room pressure condition that is acceptable before going into alarm mode. HI PRESSALARM "W.C. High Pressure Alarm - Set the maximum primary room pressure condition that is acceptable before going into alarm mode. SEC ALARM LO "W.C. Low Pressure Alarm - Set the minimum secondary room pressure condition that is acceptable before going into alarm mode. SEC ALARM HI "W.C. High Pressure Alarm - Set the maximum secondary room pressure condition that is acceptable before going into alarm mode. ALARM DELAY 30 SEC. User set time delay between an alarm condition being detected and an alarm sounding. Default: 30 sec. RPI MUTE TIME 15 MIN. MAC ADDRESS 1 DEVICE INST. 0,158,001 BAUD RATE Amount of time the interface, if in alarm mode, will remain muted after the mute button has been pressed. Visual alarm will continue to be displayed. Default: 15 min. Set the controller's BACnet MS/TP MAC address. Range NOTE: To prevent network issues, ensure no duplicate MAC addresses exist on the same MS/TP physical segment. Device Instance - This is the unique address for the controller. NOTE: To prevent network issues, set in tiers. Must be unique across entire network. Example: First floor; 101, 102, 103. Second floor; 201, 202, 203. Baud Rate - The rate with which the controller communicates over BACnet. Baud rate must be consistent across the MS/TP physical segment.
