4 1 - MACHINE IDENTIFICATION manusa automatic hermetic doors have been especially designed to make fast, safe and controlled access of persons to all types of facilities possible. manusa operators for automatic doors have been designed prioritising the safety of users and also taking into account the following aspects: - greater integration with architectural complexes - greater integration with manusa range operators This manual contains the basic instructions for assembling your automatic door. Read it carefully and, if in doubt, consult the Technical Assistance Service (see the back of the manual). For your own safety, observe the technical instructions indicated in this manual at all times. manusa takes no responsibility for any damage and breakdowns caused by failing to comply with these instructions. Cover lock Two types of carpenty are available that are compatible with the manusa hermetic operator: P50 LEAF Perimeter structure of aluminium profiles with central polyisocyinurate nucleus and outer finishing in HPL and Stainless Steel. H44 LEAF Perimeter structure with aluminium profiles with conventional safety glasses: laminated, tempered with standard thicknesses from 6 to 10 mm Machine marking The machine should have a marking label similar to the one in the image. If not, notify this to the Technical Assistance Service (see the back of the manual) Legend of tools necessary for assembly Level Tape measure Drill Pencil Phillips screwdriver Spanner Allen key FORSEEN USES AND USES THAT SHOULD BE AVOIDED The foreseen use of manusa automatic doors is to allow pedestrians through without them having to activate any control or component. Uses which are prohibited must be avoided and are listed below: - Not modifying the door or any of its components. - Not allowing children to play with the door. - Not disconnecting, handling or putting out of serve the door's safety components. - Not allowing interventions on the door by technicians not authorised by manusa. - Not using spare parts other than the original ones provided by manusa. - Not using any part of the door as an element where for resting objects or where people rest against. This list has taken into account reasonably foreseeable incorrect uses. In spite of this, manusa accepts no liability for possible accidents or damage incurred as the result of inappropriate uses not referred to above. 6

7 3 - OPERATION AND USE The installation of the manusa machines and any maintenance, regulation, adjustment, etc. intervention should be carried out by qualified technical staff that meet the following requirements: Know how to use the handling and/or lifting equipment. Correctly handle the loads. Learn to use personal protective equipment. Know how to apply the indications of the Low Voltage Regulation. Have technical knowledge on manusa products. Know the reference and applicable regulations for manusa products and services Location. Physical and environmental requirements manusa automatic doors should be installed in places with the following conditions: - Smooth, even and level floor. - Smooth, even and level wall with sufficient load capacity. - Levelled partition profiles. - No vibrations and knocks in the door area. - Service temperature: from -15 ºC to +50 ºC. - Relative air humidity: Electrical and electronic components of the operators manufactured to operate in tropical climates receive a surface treatment that protects them from atmospheric humidity Location. Electrical preinstallation requirements Assembling a manusa automatic door requires an electrical preinstallation that incorporates a 4A bipolar circuit breaker switch and that must observe the cable sections specified below: 1 The diagram shows the standard wiring for the elements the operator includes as standard Current inlet: - 16 mm corrugated tube. - 3 cables 1.5 mm 2 section: phase + neutral + earth Radars: - Cables supplied with the accessory. Óptima / Smart selector: - 16 mm corrugated tube. - Shielded cable 4 wires 0.25 mm 2 section. 7

8 3.3 - Operating principles manusa automatic doors only operate automatically. Manual operation is only foreseen in the event of an emergency and to carry out the cleaning, maintenance and adjustment tasks Commissioning Checks and adjustments before the commissioning of manusa automatic doors can only be carried out by technical staff authorised by manusa Normal stopping and emergency stopping Normal stopping of manusa doors and starting them up is carried out automatically. Emergency situations are automatically managed by the machine itself. Nevertheless, an optional emergency stop can be installed Operating modes Consult the MDS instructions manual. 8

9 4 - SAFETY manusa automatic doors can have multiple auxiliary safety functions: - Connection for fire alarm: the door will open although it is closed and without the mains power supply. - Opening movement protection: The operator is designed to manage the signal of the presence sensors in the opening area. An intermittent acoustic signal warns the pedestrian when he/she is in the opening area of the sliding leaves. If the door is opening, its opening is slowed down Identification of the machine s dangerous areas The sliding leaf or leaves of an automatic door are heavy parts in movement that have dangerous areas that you need to know. OPENING AREA CLOSING AREA OPERATOR AREA DOOR ENVIRONMENT Risk assessment The different dangerous situations that our machines have once they leave the factory, throughout the installation, commissioning, maintenance, adjustment and disassembly process of our machines are listed below. The measures for minimising risks that should be put into practice during these life phases of the machine are also listed: MECHANICAL DANGERS Dangers Structural Stability Shearing, cutting or severing Dangerous Area Machine environment Machine environment Closing area Risk prevention measures Assess the suitability of the structure where the machine is going to be installed: smooth, even and levelled floor. Smooth, even, levelled wall and with sufficient load capacity, no obstacles in the passing area, etc. Fix the different parts of the machine stably, using adequate materials and carefully following the indications in the assembly manual. Use glass according to UNE-EN to manufacture/repair the door's leaves. Check that there are no cutting burrs and edges on the different parts of the machine. Adjust the machine's closing force to the value adapted to its use. Check the correct operation of the inside and outside detectors. Take special care when placing the machine in its final location. 9

Make the electrical contacts, connection to the mains, earthing connection and checks following the indications in the wiring manual. Ensure the continuity of the conductors installing cables that have ends on the edges. Carry out the maintenance and adjustment interventions carefully following the indications in the maintenance section. Comply with the applicable technical instructions of the low voltage electrotechnical regulation. Make the electrical contacts, mains connection, earthing connection and checks following the indications in the wiring manual. Use components and electrical material with EC marking. Make the electrical contacts, mains connection, earthing connection and checks following the indications in the assembly manual. In the event of installing manual controls, position them correctly: except for unauthorised or malicious handling. Check and install the detectors following the installation and wiring instructions. Check that the machine starts to operate again safely after an interruption in the power supply. The principal aim of the design of the manusa door has been to reduce possible risks, in the first place eliminating the danger and then reducing the risk. To do so the following has been followed in the following order: Intrinsic prevention and safe design. Protection measures for risks than cannot be eliminated by intrinsic prevention. Information measures on the residual risks that cannot be sufficiently protected. Supplementary measures and precautions. After this design process, the door has a residual risk that it has not been able to totally eliminate: Risk: Impact on the opening area. Risk reduction measures: we recommend adopting one of the following measures: - Install detection devices in the opening area. - Install barriers, fixed or deterrent protections in the opening area that prevent or hinder people accessing the dangerous area. - Signpost the opening area. 4.4 Safety measures that should be taken into account by the user 1.- Keep the surroundings of the door tidy and clean. 2.- Do not use any part of the door as an element where for resting objects or where people rest against. 3.- Do not allow children to play with the door Information for emergency situations Consult MDS user manual. 10

11 5 - ON SITE INSTALLATION Material identification Ref. 12 5.3 Operator installation operations 5.3 A Check that the free passage measurements coincide with the operator's order. HL PL 5.3 B Put operator on top of frame of the gap according to assembly measurements

13 5.3 C Mark the centre of the fixing holes to the wall/structure. The holes on the ends are for cable entry. x5 5.3 D Make holes on the wall/structure for supplied screws = = = = x5 13

14 5.3 E Screw the operator to the structure using the supplied fixing parts x5 5.3 F Adjust the operator to its level and tighten the fixing screws x5 14

15 5.4 - Leaf installation operations 5.4 A Check that the leaf measurements coincide with the order of the leaf according to clearance AM=PL+80 HM=HL B Move the operator s carriage to the open position according to the opening direction

16 5.4 C Lift the leaf with 15 mm wedges on the bottom and place it in the open position 15 x2 5.4 D Fix the leaf to the suspensions observing the assembly measurements 107 x4 16

17 5.4 E Release the wedges. Adjust the height of the leaf, check the counterwheel and tighten the supsensons. Repeat operations if necessary to guarantee correct airtightness after closing the leaf x8 x2 17

18 5.5 - Installation operations of bottom guides 5.5 A Position the leaf in the open mode and insert the metal guide through the bottom slot on the leaf s guide, inside the clearance according to the opening direction. x1 5.5 B Position the plastic trim and adjust the position observing the assembly measures. 105 x1 18

19 5.5 C Mark the centres of the plastic trim s grooves on the bottom guide. 98 x2 5.5 D Make the fixing holes x2 19

20 5.5 E Fix the guide to the floor. Adjust the depth of the leaf with regard to the frame of the leaf using the slots if necessary, to ensure the airtightness. Put the cosmetic label on. x2 5.5 F Put the support trim on the outside closing. Do the same as in the bottom guide. x2 20

21 5.6 - Final operations. Adjustment 5.6 A Check the correct opening and closing manually 5.6 B Connect the earthing connections of the metal parts with the equipotential terminal. Cables can be entered on both sides of the operator. 21

22 5.6 C Connect the accessories according to the instructions in the manual. Connect the power supply electronics to the door s power supply. Route and fix the cables with plastic flanges on top of the available parts. 5.6 D With the help of the technical service console, make a self-adjustment and check the automatic openingclsoing cycle. Make the required speed and force adjustments. 22

23 5.7 - Cover assembly operations 5.7 A Check the assembly of the safety parts on the ends of the cover. Clip pvc profile into the Groove of the bottom guide x1 x2 5.7 B Join the safety parts via the holes, with the fixing frames of the cover using nylon flanges, with enough play to open and close the cover x2 23

25 6 - MAINTENANCE Maintenance of the manusa door can only be carried out by authorised technical staff. The maintenance tasks reserved for the user are, exclusively, those of keeping the area of the door tidy and clean. manusa's fitter technicians specify on work sheets all the maintenance tasks carried out. We recommend filing these sheets together with this manual as proof of the interventions carried out on the door. Consult the periodical maintenance tasks to be carried out by the authorised technical personnel. If maintenance interventions are carried out by non-authorised staff, manusa is not liable for safety incidents that might occur Spare parts All spares should be manusa originals and installed by an authorised technician. manusa is not liable in any event for damage that may be caused from failing to comply with these guidelines Machine cleaning Periodical maintenance together with the adequate cleaning of the different elements of your manusa automatic door will allow you to enjoy your product in optimum conditions during a long useful life. To clean the product, select using the control selector the OPEN door operating mode. In this way the leaves of your door can be freely moved for a more comfortable and easier cleaning. To reestablish the normal operation of the door select the AUTOMÁTIC Door operating mode. Some indications for correctly cleaning the different parts of the machine are detailed below. Clean the machine parts with a slightly damp cloth. If in any doubt about chemical products used for cleaning, consult the product data sheet or contact manusa's technical department Putting out of servicec, dismantiling and removal This machine is easy to disassemble and putting it out of service does not entail any difficulties. Continue disassembling the machine by elements and correctly managing the waste is not difficult Maintenance plan The maintenance operations will be carried out at the lowest of the two values indicated for each operation. 26 6.5 - Belt change operations A Remove fixing screw of the belt holding parts. Lift grooved belt holder to free the belt. x B Pull the belt to free the pulley from the motors. For the replacement proceed in the opposite order keeping once fixed, a reasonable tension slightly moving the position of the motor. 26

27 6.6 - LD/MD/HD operator Wheel change operations A Disassemble the fixing of the leaf to the carriage, in the opposite order to that of the installation. Release the counterwheels of the carriage that prevent a derailment. x B Disassemble the belt holder fixing from the carriage. Remove the carriage from the rail taking care not to damage it. x1 x2 27

28 6.6 6 C Stop the carriage of the LD operator, disassemble the wheels according to the figure. Keep the indicated tightening torques. x2 40Nm D For the carriage of the MD/HD operator, disassemble the wheels according to the figure. Keep the indicated tightening torques. x2 40Nm 28

29 6.7 - Bottom guide change operations A Procede in the same way as in the installation for the bottom guide to the clearance. x B Procede in the same way as in the installation for the outer bottom guide to the clearance. x2 29

30 6.8 - Strap group replacement operations A Requires disasssembling the carriage. Remove the positioning gauges. Disassemble rail groups x B Loosen the joint screw between ramp and rail profile. Proceed in the opposite order for the assembly of the rail groups. x2 30

31 7 - ANOMALY INDICATION OPTIMA Selector If the supervisor programme detects anomalies in the door operation, a numerical code appears intermittently on the display. SMART Selector If the supervisor programme detects anomalies in the door operation, a numerical code appears intermiettently on the display accompanied by the anomaly icon: In most cases, to restart the door operation you only have to select the open door mode and then the automatic door mode. If after this operation the anomaly persists, you will have to call the authorised manusa technical service. The risk assessment of manusa doors is not limited to the design and industrialisation actions carried out in our Factory, but rather covers the entire useful life of our products, guaranteeing the health and safety of the uses in each of the door s life phases.
