Some Safety Issues to Consider Always wear the correct protective eyewear and clothing and use the appropriate safety equipment, as well as fender covers, seat protectors, and floor mat protectors. Make sure you understand and observe all legislative and personal safety procedures when carrying out practical assignments. If you are unsure of what these are, ask your supervisor/instructor. Shop rules and procedures are critical to your safety. Please give this your utmost attention. Marked safety areas play an important role in maintaining a safe work environment. Always understand and heed marked safety areas. Fire blankets are an important component of fire safety in the shop. Always know their location, purpose, and use. Fire extinguishers come in a variety of types and sizes. It pays to understand the differences before they are needed. Eye wash stations are an important component of shop safety. Always know their location, purpose, and use. Pre-planned evacuation routes are an important component of shop safety. Always know the location of all evacuation routes for your shop. Being able to locate information in an MSDS is critical to your safety and health. Make sure you are familiar with their location and use. Medium Heavy Vehicle Safety and Foundation 1
