Design of the lock and release device (a pin in the pressure indicator seat) allows one to check and replace the indicator w/o causing any malfunctions of the fire extinguisher.. safety valve 4

5 STORED PRESSURE FOAM FIRE EXTINGUISHERS MIG Mechanical foam fire extinguishers MIG are charged with a film-forming synthetic fluorinated foaming agent - Sthamex AFFF. Low separation factor accounts for rapid formation of a water film which has the ability to spontaneously spread and coat the oil product, prevent evaporation and formation of a vapour-air mixture, decrease the extinction time and cool the fire zone. If the foam layer is breached, surface tension forces will cause the foam to cover the whole of liquid oil product. Foamer solution absorbs very little of the flammable substances, so it can be used for subsurface suppression. This solution has extremely low surface tension and better firefighting properties than alternatives in the market. These solutions are almost ph neutral (рн= ), which makes them safe for humans and for the environment. Sthamex AFFF foamer is designed to fight class A and B fires by isolating the burning surface and thus preventing hot vapour-air mixture generation. It is stable and resistant to thermal radiation emitted by combustible materials with a high content of polar additives, such as alcohol, etc. Main applications of the fire extinguishers are chemical and petrochemical industries, airfields, as well as any application where a need may arise to extinguish large oil or oil product spills, or to timely prevent ignition of flammable liquids. It is recommended for use on ships, in ports and in the offshore zone. MIG Е air foam extinguishers are charged with MOUSSEAL-C film-forming synthetic fluorinated foaming agent. MOUSSEAL-C is a special combination of surfactants and salts which has maximum wetting and impregnating abilities. On liquid non-polar hydrocarbons, e.g. mineral oil products, an aqueous film is formed which lastingly covers the surface and prevents evaporation of solvent vapours. Main applications of the fire extinguishers: chemical and petrochemical industry, airfields, as well as any application where a need may arise to extinguish large oil or oil product spills, or to prevent ignition of flammable liquids in time. Main advantages: - increased fire extinguishing ability at a larger range of standardized fire sources; - burnout-resistance properties of the foam; - generation of a polymeric film which serves as an insulating protective layer between the foam-abrasive alcohols (ketones and ethers) and the foam coating on top; - generation of an aqueous film (AFFF effect) which spreads before the foam and makes the foam more fluid and able to prevent re-ignition while extinguishing oil products; - increased fluidity ability of the foam to spread and cover surfaces; - gas-tightness of the foam prevents the release of combustible gases from any already-extinguished or foam-covered flammable liquids. This helps prevent re-ignition and emergence of new fires; - great fixation ability of the foam while extinguishing solid materials; - resistance to seawater, industrial water, river water and sewage water, which allows for usage on ships and at seaports; - environmentally friendly.
