17 Putting innovation into practice The UTC Center for Intelligent Buildings will be a first-of-its-kind, intelligent and sustainable innovation and technology center to showcase United Technologies products and integrated systems. The building will feature solutions and interactive displays from United Technologies brands. The UTC Center for Intelligent Buildings is targeted to be a U.S. Green Building Council LEED building. 16

20 Our sustainable solutions Eco-Screen showcases a building s sustainability and efficiency measures using a dynamic interactive kiosk. NaturaLINE units are the world s first natural refrigerant technology for container refrigeration, incorporating CO 2 in place of conventional synthetic refrigerants to deliver sustainability and efficiency. The Carrier AquaEdge 23XRV is the world s leading efficiency screw chiller, 42% better than the industry standard. 1 Since 1984, NORESCO has guaranteed more than $3 billion in energy and operating cost savings at more than 7,000 facilities. The AquaEdge 19DV centrifugal chiller utilizes a low GWP refrigerant (GWP of 1.34) and provides efficiency that is 40% better than the current industry standard 2. Marioff's HI-FOG gasdriven pump unit uses up to 90% less water than traditional sprinkler systems. Kidde Fire Systems uses non-ozone depleting suppression agents. One in particular, 3M Novec 1230 fire suppression fluid, has a global warming potential of one. The CO 2 OLtec Integral solution uses the natural refrigerant CO 2 and fully integrates refrigeration, heating and cooling systems, resulting in energy savings. Interlogix's UltraSync SmartHome system uses pre-set schedules, geo location and remote system management to help users manage energy consumption. 1.
