4 D-TECT X MKIII D-TECT X The BS8418 compliant D-TECT X range of external detectors all feature quad PIR sensor modules, stylish IP65 fully tampered housings and a discreet internal antenna. The receiver (GJD392), can be linked in its base form to 4 detectors and this can be expanded up to 16 detectors, with the use of the GJD393 4-way expansion module. Units accept 2 x 3 volt CR123 batteries, 500m RF transmission range on 868MHz and individual code for pairing to the receiver. The D-TECT X wireless external detector is a BS8418 compliant, twin PIR external wireless movement detector with a line of sight communication range up to 500m. The D-TECT X can control and activate CCTV cameras, security lights, DVRs, auto-diallers and virtually any lowvoltage switching device. It also has a pan and tilt facility with a programmable beam range of up to 30m, avoiding boundary overspill. Due to the number of individual detector codes, (in excess of 16M), multiple receivers can be used on any site. 5 D-TECT X 50 D-TECT X Receiver The D-TECT X 50 wireless detector is a twin PIR external movement detector. It is BS8418 compliant and has a line of sight communication range of up to 500m. When triggered it can individually or simultaneously, control and activate CCTV cameras, security lights, DVRs, auto-diallers and virtually any low-voltage switching device. It has a pan and tilt facility with a programmable beam range of up to 50m, avoiding boundary overspill. The D-TECT X Receiver is an IP55 weatherproof, tamper protected, four channel unit. Fully equipped with two volt free and two negative switched outputs per channel. It can be expanded by the addition of up to 3 four channel expansion modules, to allow the receiver unit to monitor the active state of up to 16 wireless D-TECT X movement detectors. 6 D-TECT X Repeater D-TECT Ricochet The D-TECT X Repeater can be used to extend the RF range of a D-TECT X detector, or to boost signal in a poor reception area. The D-TECT X Repeater must be placed within 500m line of sight between the D-TECT X detector(s) and D-TECT X Receiver(s). The unit will repeat all signals from the D-TECT X detector within range and does not require any programming to function. The D-TECT Ricochet range of external wireless detectors is integrated with Texecom Ricochet wireless mesh technology. D-TECT Ricochet units are BS8418 compliant and fi tted with stylish IP65 fully tampered housings. The range is well suited for commercial and residential security solutions. It provides seamless pairing with Texecom s Premier Elite Control panels, (fi rmware V2.08 and above), whilst being simple to setup and quick to install. 7 Opal RFX & RFX Receiver D-TECT Universal The Opal RFX is a robust external 35m passive Infra-Red intruder detector. Designed to detect and transmit reliable event-based triggers to the weatherproof RFX-3 a 3 channel receiver (GJD017). 150m line of sight RF transmission range on 433MHz. These combined units enable simultaneous or individual control of cameras, DVR s and virtually all low voltage switching requirements. The ABS vandal resistant housing has a UV stabilised translucent front cover to provide additional protection to the optics. The Universal wireless detector is a battery powered outdoor motion detector designed to integrate with thirdparty wireless modules. It uses two independent passive Infra-Red detectors, both of which must trigger to cause the detector to signal an alarm. Utilising quad PIR technology, the universal PIR delivers precise, reliable presence detection. 8 D-TECT 1 The D-TECT 1 is a BS8418 compliant, highly cost-effective twin PIR external movement detector. It can be used to control cameras, connect to alarm panels and other alarm warning devices. Equipped with a pan and tilt dual Infra-Red scanner with two volt-free relay outputs and programmable beam ranges of 10m, 20m and 30m. 13 ELITE MX20 The Elite wide angled external PIR detector offers a high level of adaptability. There are seven different modes of operation, giving various permutations of normally open and normally closed arrangements for the two volt-free relays, plus a selection of timing and functional options for the relay changeover contacts. 24 Autodialler GSM Dialler The Autodialler makes use of a standard telephone line to call up to 9 pre-programmed numbers to warn of an intrusion. If an intruder is detected, the Autodialler automatically sends a call to any pre-programmed telephone number, providing a fast reliable warning. 26 Multispeech The Multispeech is a four-channel speech enunciator module designed for intruder monitoring, access control, welcoming, advising or warning. A different 30 second message can be recorded on each of the four channels or alternatively one single message of 120 seconds long can be recorded. Confi gurable to accept any normally open or normally closed input, this gives greater fl exibility when using any detection device, alarm panel, panic button, telephone responder or activation from a remote video CCTV monitoring station. The range incorporates the latest surface mount LED s with enhanced optical output and outstanding reliability, to deliver high quality night-time images. The Clarius Plus IP includes an interchangeable lens diffuser system; which allows the user to quickly and easily alter the angle of illumination. Elliptical beam profi les allow more light to be delivered precisely where it is needed, allowing longer distances to be reached and minimising light wastage. 43 Power Supplies CleanLITE Coating The Clarius range of power supply units are constant voltage devices perfect for powering the Clarius range of LED lighting products. All of the power supply units feature a regulated 24V DC output supplying continuous full rated current to load. The universal mains input voltage allows the power supply to be used across a wide geographical area, while the highly effi cient switch mode design ensures low operating costs and cool running. Available in four power variants from 30W to 150W, the PSU s provide enough power for multiple illuminators if required. What is CleanLITE technology? The Clarius range of Infra-Red and White-Light LED illuminators are manufactured with GJD s unique CleanLITE coating technology. This is a hydrophobic layer, which instantly repels water and other liquids to ensure Clarius illuminators remain clean and dirt free. How CleanLITE technology works When dirt and dust come into contact with the Clarius CleanLITE coated front cover, water quickly fl ushes it away. The water is instantly repelled by the coating and the dirt is attracted to the water, which then simply rolls away. Even under extreme conditions like constant high pressure spray, the CleanLITE layer maintains its hydrophobic characteristics. In an effort to restore the famous world heritage site, Stonehenge underwent a massive 27 million renovation project. Challenge This is the largest capital project ever undertaken by English Heritage. Stonehenge required a highend, sophisticated perimeter detection and security system. 46 Case Studies Case Studies SOUTH MANCHESTER SCHOOL SOLAR FARMS Challenge Reducing false alarms in a South Manchester school provides the RVRC with an invaluable lesson in external PIR detectors. Initially the school had an external CCTV system installed by an NSI Gold installation company using conventional external PIR s. However, shortly after installation the system generated a high number of false alarms. Detection Solution Owing to the number of false triggers, the company urgently needed to provide a viable and economic solution. This saw the original PIR s replaced with GJD s external D-TECT 3 PIR detectors, which are proven to drastically reduce nuisance triggers by an impressive 85%. Furthermore, the D-TECT 3 signifi cantly outperforms the more expensive products on the market, as it is easy to install, aesthetically pleasing and more resistant to attack compared to other PIR s. Since the new detectors were installed, the school confi rmed that whenever the system was triggered, a genuine activation was confi rmed. The farms often cover vast areas of land in rural areas, therefore it is essential that effective perimeter detection is in place to protect the infrastructure. GJD was employed to manufacture reliable security lighting to work in conjunction with the CCTV system on a solar farm in Cambridgeshire, to provide optimum security. Challenge The Cambridgeshire solar farm required intelligent detection lighting and a CCTV solution for a 13MW PV installation. Major project specifi cations included reliable security lighting, even in adverse weather conditions, accurate angle illumination and a light range of up to 95 metres. Given the nature of the project, it was also important the selected lighting used very low power consumption, without compromising on quality and effi ciency. Lighting solution GJD worked closely with AGE CCTV Systems and the project manager at the solar farm to select the most suitable security lighting for the project. 47 Case Studies Case Studies DETECTORS FOR RRG TOYOTA CLARIUS PLUS USED FOR WORLDWIDE TV SERIES The specialist security installation company Nu-Fire & Security Ltd selected the D-TECT X as part of a BS8418 compliant CCTV system for the new RRG Toyota Car Dealership in Manchester. A total of 19 D-TECT detectors were installed, this was a mix of D-TECT 2 Quad PIRs and D-TECT X Wireless Quad PIRs. The advanced features of the D-TECT range include unique signal processing, optical systems plus front and back tamper switches. These detectors are able to capture genuine threats and totally eliminate nuisance alarms. When the D-TECT detectors are triggered they can individually, or simultaneously control and activate CCTV cameras, security lights, NVRs, autodiallers and virtually any low-voltage switching device. The D-TECT X wireless detector also has an impressive line of sight range of up to 500 metres. Introduction GJD worked closely with HotCam who is a leading professional broadcast camera, audio, lighting equipment hire and crewing company. The collaboration required GJD s LED illuminators to be used during night vision fi lming for a worldwide television series. The Challenge GJD was brought in to help HotCam Ltd. develop the perfect lighting solution. Due to the high scale of the project, it was essential that the Infra-Red Illuminators would provide a reliable and precision lighting solution. Covert IR lighting was a key specifi cation, it was essential the illuminators had the ability to light up a room, as if it were daylight to a night vision camera, but still appear dark to the human eye, so people were unaware of fi lming. Image quality was also key, as the camera footage had to meet strict television broadcast standards. It was important to capture visible images of objects without shadows and show people with clear facial identifi cation. The lighting solution had to be completely accurate due to the fact that very key elements of the television series would be fi lmed in total darkness. The location of fi lming was in various sized rooms which would change from day to night, so both the illumination range and angle had to match the cameras fi eld of view. Lighting Solution After careful consideration and thorough testing, eight medium Clarius PLUS Infra-Red illuminators were specifi ed. The medium Clarius PLUS incorporates the latest surface mount Dual core LED s with enhanced optical output and outstanding reliability to deliver excellent night-time images. The advanced technology allows for signifi cantly more light to be delivered precisely where it is required. It also reduces light wastage, which helps to reduce costs and save energy without compromising on effi ciency. A distinct feature of the Clarius PLUS was its interchangeable lens diffuser system, which provides a quick and user-friendly method to easily alter the angle of illumination, therefore providing versatility whilst fi lming. The Clarius PLUS also has a minimal visible glow; this ensured that the lighting was invisible to the actors. Another specialist feature was the PoE (power over ethernet) technology, which provided the option to run power via PoE, this saved further cabling and lowered the maintenance costs.
