5 On a farm at Lawshall, near Bury St Edmunds, the following pictures were taken on 30th January They show an application of UNITE sprayed on 16th November The pre-emergence used was 4.0 L/ha of Crystal L/ha Hurricane. The pictures show both excellent blackgrass and cranesbill control (full control of sterile brome was also achieved). 7 Use as part of a programme and fo ow wrag guidelines Apply during active growth of grassweeds Blackgrass up to GS24 Following a minimum of 240g ai/ha flufenacet applied as a pre-emergence Wild oats up to GS32 Ryegrass up to GS29 Brome up to GS24 (optimum control of sterile and great brome may not be achieved in the spring) Apply 270g/ha UNITE + Adjuvant (range supported) Rainfast in 2 hours UNITE herbicide in an autumn programme The key to using UNITE is a programmed approach based on a pre-emergence treatment of at least 240g ai/ha flufenacet. For best results tank mix UNITE with a residual herbicide such as Stomp Aqua (min 1.75 L/ha) and one of a wide range of approved adjuvants. Optimal timing is to apply UNITE to actively growing weeds with blackgrass at 1-3 leaf stage. Apply in L/ha water, 130 L is optimum and use FF or VPFF 110 nozzles with fine-medium spray quality. UNITE herbicide in spring Even applied in spring, best results are achieved within a programmed approach. UNITE can be used on crops up to and before GS31. Optimum results come from treating actively growing grassweeds: Blackgrass up to GS24 (after a minimum of 240g ai/ha flufenacet pre-emergence) Wild oats up to GS32 Ryegrass up to GS29 Brome up to GS24 (optimum control of sterile and great brome may not be achieved in the spring)
