4 Herbicides TURFLON ESTER 61.6% Turflon Ester postemergence herbicide for control of bermudagrass, kikuyugrass and broadleaf weeds in cool season lawns such as fescue, ryegrass and bluegrass. Weeds Controlled- Clovers, oxalis, bermudagrass, kikuyugrass and other broadleaf weeds. Rate- Apply 4 teaspoons in 1 gallon water per 1,000 sq. ft. For control of warm season grasses, in turf (bermudagrass and kikuyugrass) apply 3-4 applications at 4 week intervals. Additional Information- Do not use on warm season lawns such as bermudagrass or bentgrass. Avoid spraying when wind is blowing. Spray drift can seriously injure susceptible plants. SPURGE POWER A postemergence turf herbicide that contains three active ingredients to improve weed control: MCPA, triclopyr and dicamba. It does not contain 2,4-D. More effective than other 3-way products on the market. Usage- Warm and cool season turf to control spurge as well as dandelion, oxalis, clover, spurweed, mustard, wild violets, Creeping Charlie and other broadleaf weeds. Do not spray during the day if temperature is above 85 F. Apply in the morning or evening hours. Rate- Apply 1 oz. in 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. WEED WHACKER A 3-way combination postemergence herbicide containing; 2,4-D, MCPP, 2,4-DP. For control of broadleaf weeds in ornamental turf. It may be used anytime of the year. However, only two applications per year should be made to the same area. Weeds Controlled- Broadleaf weeds such as dandelion, spurge, oxalis (wood sorrel), clover. Over 100 weeds controlled with this product. Rate- Apply 4 oz. (8 tablespoons) in 3 gallons of water to treat 1,250 sq. ft. of cool season turf. Apply 2 oz. (4 tablespoons) in 3 gallons of water to treat 1,250 sq. ft. of warm season turf. Additional Information- Avoid drift onto desirable plants. Some hybrid bermuda varieties are sensitive to this product. No permit required. WEED WHACKER JET SPRAY Same active ingredients as Weed Whacker listed above. Available in a 22 oz. ready to use aerosol can. Just aim and spray. A foaming agent has been added to indicate where spray has been applied. No mess, no measuring, no sprayer clean up. 5 REMUDA FULL STRENGTH A 41% glyphosate product (the same active ingredient as Roundup ) that is used for general weed control in unplanted areas and around trees, shrubs and other ornamentals. Non-selective. Weeds Controlled- Most grasses and broadleaf weeds, perennial weeds, brush and trees. Rate- For small annual weeds use 2 tablespoons (1 oz.) per gallon of water. For general weed control use 6 tablespoons per gallon. To control woody brush and trees you can use up to 25 tablespoons per gallon of water. Use higher rate in cool weather. A surfactant is included in the formulation for better weed control. However, on hard to control species the addition of Herbicide Helper may give quicker results especially in cool weather. May be tank mixed with Weed Impede for preemergence weed control. VEGETABLE & ORNAMENTAL WEEDER A preemergence herbicide that contains 43% Treflan /trifluralin which controls weeds as they germinate. It does not control weeds once they have emerged. Use in ornamental beds, groundcovers, etc. and certain vegetables after transplanting. Usage- Vegetable & Ornamental Weeder can be applied over the top of bedding plants, ground covers, ornamental plants, and certain vegetables. It can be applied around trees and shrubs. Do not apply to lawn areas. Rate- Apply at 3 oz. in 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Rainfall or irrigation is required to move it into the soil. Soil incorporation is not required. Additional Information- Certain vegetables may be treated with Vegetable & Ornamental Weeder. Apply immediately after seeding or transplanting. It can be used on asparagus, beans, carrots, cole crops, celery, cucumbers, peas, greens, okra, peppers, onions, potatoes, and tomatoes. Do not use on sweet corn or beets. 6 WEED IMPEDE A preemergence herbicide that contains 40.4% Surflan /oryzalin which controls weeds as they germinate. It does not control weeds after they have emerged. Use in ornamental beds, groundcovers, etc. Long lasting weed control. Usage- Weed Impede can be applied over the top of bedding plants, groundcovers, and ornamental plantings, around trees and shrubs. Weed Impede can also be applied to bulbs once they are planted and to warm season turf prior to crabgrass germination. Bermudagrass and St. Augustine grass are examples of warm season turf. Weed Impede may be mixed with Roundup or Remuda to control existing weeds. (Do not spray this combination over the top of desired ornamentals.) Follow directions carefully for usage on tall fescue. Also available in a ready-to-spray (RTS) bottle that attaches to a garden hose. Weeds Controlled- Annual grasses and many broadleaf weeds. Rate- For concentrate, apply 1½ - 3 oz. in 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. WEED IMPEDE 2-in-1 CONCENTRATE Made with both a preemergence and a postemergence herbicide. Contains glyphosate (like Remuda or Roundup ) to control existing weeds and prodiamine for prevention of new weeds. Enters through the foliage of the weed and moves systemically to the roots. Weed Impede provides an invisible barrier in the soil which prevents the development of weeds. Usage- For use in driveways, sidewalks, patios, gravel areas, around established trees and shrubs, and along the edge of lawn areas. Spray existing weeds and the entire surrounding area for best results. Water in 24 hours after application. Rate- Mix 3-6 oz. per gallon of water and treat 1,000 sq. ft. For longer preemergence control of larger weeds use the higher rate. Spray the area with sufficient volume to assure complete coverage. Also available in a 32 oz. ready-to-use spray bottle. 7 MONTEREY BRUSH & VINE CONTROL A postemergence herbicide designed to control brush, vines and perennial weeds in non-planted areas. Over 50 species are controlled, including poison oak and ivy. Rate- Use 4-8 oz./gallon with water. 1 gallon of spray covers approximately 500 sq. ft. Thorough coverage is necessary. Additional Information- Also used as a cut stump treatment. Apply undiluted to the cut tree stump to kill it and prevent re-sprouting. Avoid drift onto desirable plants. CRAB-E-RAD PLUS A MSMA replacement for control of crabgrass and other grasses and weeds. Postemergence treatment for turf that controls over 100 broadleaf weeds. Use on both warm and cool season turf. 1 quart treats 5,000 sq. ft. Rate- Consult label for rate depending on type of application. Available as concentrate or 32 oz. RTU spray bottle. Additional Information- Do not allow spray to get on ornamentals or vegetable plants. Do not spray around exposed roots of ornamentals or trees. For best results do not mow for 2 days before or after treating. Avoid application when temperatures exceed 90ºF. GRASS GETTER (Poast ) A selective, postemergence grass killer (18% active) that is used over the top of broadleaf plants to selectively kill the grasses growing among them. May be used on over 300 species of ornamental plants. Usage- May be used over or around flowers, groundcovers, shrubs, trees, fruit trees and vegetables. Excellent control of bermudagrass in established shrubs. Check the label for vegetables Grass Getter can be used on. A second application may be necessary. Do not apply to turfgrass (lawn) areas. Weeds Controlled- Annual grasses, bermudagrass, crabgrass, foxtail, Johnsongrass, quackgrass and other grassy weeds. Rate- Apply 1 oz. Grass Getter in 1 gallon of water. Must also add 1 oz. of Herbicide Helper oil concentrate (see Adjuvants, pg. 21) to the tank to enhance the effects of this herbicide. Poast is a registered trademark of BASF AG Products. 8 HERBICIDAL SOAP This fast-acting weed, algae and moss killer won t stain bricks, concrete or asphalt. This nonselective herbicide suppresses the growth of some annual and perennial weeds. Made from ammoniated soap of fatty acids. Kills within hours. Usage- It can be used in cultivated areas prior to planting grass, flowers and vegetables. Areas can be planted five days after treatment. It can also be used on weeds, algae or moss growing on or around buildings, sidewalks, fences, trees, bark mulch, driveways, patios and gravel. Herbicidal Soap can be used at any time during the year. Best results are obtained with young, actively growing weeds, less than five inches in size. Rate- 1 gallon makes 5 gallons of finished spray. NUTGRASS KILLER II SELECTIVE HERBICIDE Postemergence control of both yellow and purple nutsedge, Kyllinga and Horsetail in established lawns and residential landscaped areas with woody ornamentals. This product often works with one application, but depending on the size and the age of the nutsedge a second treatment may be required 6-10 weeks after the initial treatment. Usage- Apply in spring and summer when yellow nutgrass reaches 3-8 leaf stage. May be used on both cool and warm season grasses. Rate- Each box contains.9 grams (0.03 oz) water dispersible granule in pre-measured water soluble bag for convenient application. One box treats 1,000 sq. ft. Also controls Horsetail with 1 water soluble pouch applied to 500 sq. ft. 5

9 STAR THISTLE KILLER Control star thistle in ranch pastures, and non-crop areas. No grazing restriction. This highly concentrated herbicide uses 8 oz. to treat 1/2 of an acre of pasture. Also controls Canadian thistle and other thistle weeds. For use on noncrop areas and pasture land. (California registration only) Rate- Apply 1/4 oz. in 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. when weeds are young and actively growing. Additional Information- Do not allow spray drift to come in contact with vegetables, flowers, or other desirable broadleaf plants. No permit required. Note- Grasses are tolerant to this product but legumes in pastures will be killed. THISTLEDOWN A postemergence herbicide to control thistles and other weeds in pastures and non-crop areas. Controls Canadian thistle, musk thistle, star thistle and knapweed. No grazing restrictions. No permit required. Rate- Apply 1/4 to 1/2 oz. in 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Apply when thistles are young and actively growing. Thorough coverage necessary. Additional Information- Avoid drift onto desirable plants. Grasses are tolerant, but legumes in pastures will be killed. KUDZU KILLER Controls Kudzu in existing trees, pastures and non crop areas. This highly concentrated herbicide uses 8 oz. to treat 1/2 of an acre. Rate- Apply 1/4 to 1/2 oz. in 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Additional Information- Apply between late June and early October. The ideal time to apply is during vigorous growth and just prior to or during flowering. Thoroughly wet the Kudzu foliage. 10 Insecticides MONTEREY ANT CONTROL Contains Spinosad and iron phosphate, this pelleted formula can be used outside the house as a perimeter treatment, on ornamentals, in vegetable gardens and around fruit and nut trees. OMRI Listed for organic gardening. Rate- 1 lb. treats 2,000 sq. ft. Additional Information- People and pets can enter area after application. All common ants are controlled excluding fire ants, harvester ants, Pharoh s ants and carpenter ants. For outdoor use only. BUG BUSTER - O Bug Buster - O is a natural pyrethrin that is made from PyGanic, a natural agricultural insecticide. It is 1.47% natural pyrethrin and is OMRI Listed for Organic Gardening. Insect Controlled- Over 100 are listed on the label and it can be used on all vegetables and fruit and nut trees and ornamental. Provides rapid knockdown of listed insects. Rate oz per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Additional Information- Can be used on the day of harvest. MONTEREY ROSE & FLOWER INSECT SPRAY This is an aerosol product containing permethrin and tetramethrin for use on ornamental plants, shrubs and vines. Provides rapid knockdown and kill of most insects. Effective water based formula. Additional Information- Outdoor use only. Do not use on fruit or vegetables. See Bug Buster-O or Take Down Spray for this use. MONTEREY ROSE & FLOWER SPRAY PLUS This is a combination of natural pyrethrin and Neem oil and gives fast knock down with the residual of Neem oil. Numerous insects and diseases are controlled. It can be used on roses, ornamentals, fruit and nut trees, vegetables, etc. Rate- Use 1 oz. per gallon of water. Repeat at 7-14 day intervals. Additional Information- May be used up to the day of harvest. For outdoor use only. OMRI Listed for Organic Gardening. 7 Meets National Organic Program (NOP) standards for Organic Gardening.

11 FRUIT TREE SPRAY PLUS Broad spectrum insecticide, fungicide and miticide that controls insects and diseases on vegetables, fruits, nuts, herbs, spices, roses, flowers, turfgrass and shrubs around the home. Kills eggs, larval and adult stages of listed insects. Prevents fungal attack of plants tissues. Most effective when applied in early to mid-morning or late afternoon when adult insect pests, such as whiteflies, are normally sedentary on the undersides of the foliage. OMRI Listed for Organic Gardening. Can be used up to day of harvest. Rate- Comes in a ready to spray bottle. Simply attach to hose and spray. Also available in concentrate to mix and spray. See label for complete directions for use and rates. Additional Information- Use spray solution within several hours of preparation for maximum effectiveness. Do not add adjuvants (spreaders, stickers, extenders, ets.) to tank mix of Fruit Tree Spray Plus. MONTEREY HORTICULTURAL OIL Controls whiteflies, aphids, mites and other insects by suffocation. A mineral oil based insecticide to be used as a dormant and/or summer spray. Odorless, nonstaining organic control especially designed for usage in environmentally sensitive areas. Can be used to control some diseases as well. Usage- Apply to tree and vine crops, ornamentals, vegetables and citrus trees for control of various insects. Formulated as an 80% oil and 20% emulsifier which creates a creamy emulsion that allows for easy and stable dilution in the spray tank. The smaller oil droplets assure that only a thin, even coating will be applied to the plant which increases insect control. This insecticidal oil can be used alone or mixed with other insecticides. Rate- Apply 2½-8 tablespoons in 1 gallon of water and spray thoroughly. Consult label for exact rate depending on application. TAKE DOWN GARDEN SPRAY A combination of natural pyrethrin and canola oil, this product combines the best of two worlds- quick knockdown and residual control. It is available as a concentrate and as a RTU (ready to use) formula. It can be used indoors, outdoors, in greenhouses, on fruit and nut trees, vegetables, grapes, strawberries, citrus, houseplants, and all ornamental plants. It controls aphids, Japanese beetles, Colorado potato beetles, caterpillars, mealy bugs, scales, whiteflies, thrips, psyllids, and many others. Rate- Apply 1-2% formulation according to target insects. Soft body pests such as aphid or mite are controlled with a 1% concentration. For 1% formulation, mix 2 teaspoons in 1 quart water or 1 oz. in 3 quarts water. For a 2% formulation, mix 4 teaspoons with 1 quart of water or 2 oz. with 3 quarts water. Shake well. Additional Information- Do not apply when temperatures are above 90ºF. Wait until early morning or late evening to apply in hot climates. Also available as an RTU spray formulation. Meets National Organic Program (NOP) standards for Organic Gardening. 8

12 MONTEREY GARDEN INSECT SPRAY This is a product of fermentation and it contains naturally occurring spinosad. It controls caterpillars (worms), sawflies, thrips, fire ants, and many other insects. Available in a RTS (ready to spray) formulation. Usage- Monterey Garden Insect Spray can be used on ornamentals, turf, vegetables, fruit and nut trees, and as a mound treatment for fire ants. It can be applied to most food crops up to 1 day before harvest. Rate- Apply 4 tablespoons (2 oz.) per gallon of water and thoroughly spray the treated area. Ready to Spray (RTS) simply attach to garden hose and spray! Additional Information- Controls citrus leafminer. For fire ant mound treatment apply 2 oz. per gallon of water in a watering can. Apply 1-2 gallons of the mixed solution around the mound and into it. MONTEREY GARDEN INSECT SPRAY RTU For use on vegetables, fruit and nut trees, citrus, berries, herbs, ornamentals, shrubs, flowers, lawns, and trees in home gardens and non-commercial greenhouses. Effective against a wide variety of insects and curative control of powdery mildew. Usage- Thoroughly spray all plant parts to wetting, including undersides of leaves. This product will control pests such as: adelgids (woolly aphids), ants (excluding fire ants, harvester ants, Pharaoh s ants and carpenter ants), aphids, armyworms, beetles (including Colorado potato beetle), borers, caterpillars, chinch bugs, codling moth, earwigs, fruit flies (including spotted wing Drosophila), gypsy moth, lace bugs, leafhoppers, leafminers, leafrollers, loopers, mealybugs, mites, mole crickets, plant bugs, psyllids, sawfly larvae (e.g. pear and rose slugs), scale insects, spider mites, tent caterpillars, thrips, webworms, weevils (including black vine weevil), and whiteflies. For control of powdery mildew apply when the first signs of disease appear and repeat at 7-10 day intervals. This product must come into contact with powdery mildew to be effective. Complete coverage is essential for maximum control. Additional Information- Do not use on sweet peas, nasturtiums, or delicate ferns. Use with care on new seedlings, transplants, and blooms. Do not spray during full sun. If concerned about sensitivity of plants, apply to individual plants or small areas of plants and wait 2 days to determine if plant damage occurs prior to treatment of larger areas. ALL NATURAL MITE & INSECT CONTROL RTU A ready to spray formulation that controls all stages of insects (adults, eggs, larvae and pupas) for such species as mites, whiteflies, aphids, scales, leafhoppers and many more. Can be used both indoor and outdoors. Made from 100% naturally occurring materials. It can be applied any time during the growing season up to the day of harvest on crops. Usage- This product is ready to use from the bottle. Thourough coverage of the plant parts is required. Use on a weekly basis until mites and insect are under control. Under high insect pressure this interval may need to be shortened. 9

13 70% NEEM OIL Naturally occurring product used as an insecticide as well as a miticide and fungicide. Used on ornamentals, trees, shrubs, vegetables, fruit and nut trees. It controls insects such as aphids, whiteflies, scale, leafrollers, etc. Mites and fungal diseases such as powdery mildew, black spot, rust and scab are also controlled by Neem Oil. Rate- Mix 1 oz. (2 tablespoons) per gallon of water. Spray thoroughly all over the leaf surface. Ready to Spray (RTS) simply attach to garden hose and spray! Additional Information- Injury has been reported when neem oil is used on impatiens, fuchsias, hibiscus, olives, carnations and some rose varieties. Use with caution around these plants. MONTEREY NEEM OIL-RTU New ready-to-use formulation made from neem oil for Organic Gardening. This OMRI Listed product has both insecticidal and fungicidal properties for control of black spot, powdery mildew, rust, spider mites, aphids, whiteflies and other insects. Usage- This ready to use spray can be used on roses, flowers, houseplants, ornamental trees and shrubs, fruit and nut trees, and vegetables. Can be used in and around the home. VEGETABLE GARDEN SOIL INSECTICIDE Season long control of soil insects in vegetable gardens and flowerbeds. Contains bifenthrin granules. Kills over 45 insects. Usage- Apply this product directly to lawns, gardens, or landscaped areas. Water treated area as directed on this label. Rate- On Lawns uniformly apply 1 lb. to 2 lbs. over 1,000 sq. ft. For mole cricket control, apply 2 to 4 lbs. over 1,000 sq. ft. area. For 3 month/seasonlong control, apply 4 lbs. of product for every 1,000 sq. ft. On Ornamentals & Flowers apply 0.5 to 1 lb. evenly over each 500 sq. ft. area. Repeat if there are signs of renewed insect activity. Product can be applied just before planting or after plants emerge. For Vegetable Gardens a single application may be applied just prior to planting or after plants emerge and worked into the top 4 to 6 inches of soil. Use 1 lb. of product for a 500 sq. ft. area. Home Foundation/Barrier Treatment, evenly apply a 2-foot wide band next to the house/home. MONTEREY TERMITE & CARPENTER ANT CONTROL Outside spray or drench to protect building or fence posts, etc. from termite infestation. Controls wood boring insects such as carpenter ants, etc. Can be used as fire ant mound treatment. Used on turf areas to control both above ground feeding and root feeding grubs. Long lasting and easy to use. Rate- Termites: 3.2 fl. oz. per gallon of water for each 2.5 linear feet of drench. All other pests: 1/2 oz. (1 Tablespoon) per gallon of water sprayed over 167 sq. ft. Additional Information- Easy to apply with Ortho Dial N Spray or tank sprayer. Do not use indoors or on edible plants. 10

14 MONTEREY B.t. This is a naturally occurring material based on the bacteria Bacillus thuringiensis. FRUIT TREE & VEGETABLE SYSTEMIC SOIL DRENCH This is a systemic insecticide based on the product imidacloprid. 17 Fungicides LIQUI-COP A true liquid copper fungicide based on Copper-Count -N, a widely used agricultural fungicide. Liqui-Cop is very weather resistant and sticks to the plant or woody surface once it s dried, giving long lasting control. It is used as a dormant spray on fruit trees, a foliar spray on citrus, and as a foliar spray on vegetables, ornamentals, conifers, trees, and shrubs to control various foliar diseases. As a dormant spray it can be mixed with insecticide oil (such as our Monterey Horticultural Oil) to give a good combination treatment. Rate- Apply 2-4 tablespoons to 1 gallon of water and spray thoroughly. For deciduous fruit trees, apply a fall application and then again just before bud break to control peach leaf curl, shot hole, brown rot, and other diseases. Examples of adjuvant products are spreaders, stickers, dyes, etc. These products are normally added to increase effectiveness or visibility. Many herbicides require a product such as this to give good results under adverse weather conditions. The crystals hold several hundred times their weight in water. Usage- Use in vegetable gardens, landscape areas, turf, planting trees and shrubs. Mix with potting soil mixture or use as root dip. Rate- Overall treatment prior to planting. Apply 2-4 lbs./1000 sq. ft. Rake into the soil at planting or transplanting. Water in immediately. For bedding plants or transplant vegetables, dig holes and apply 1 Tbsp. in the hole prior to transplant. Then use another 1 Tbsp. mixed with soil to backfill hole. Water immediately. Turf applications use 5 lbs./1000 sq. ft. Rake or rototill into the soil. Seed or spread sod and water immediately. Transplanted trees and shrubs, use 1-6 oz. depending on the container size (see label for exact rate). Incorporate into potting mix at a rate of 2 lbs. per cubic yard. Root dip, use 1 tsp. with 1 Qt. water to make pasty solution. Dip roots into solution. Additional Information- Water Retention Crystals are sold in California only. Water Retention Granules are the same quality product sold in all other states. ODOR ELIMINATOR RTU Enzymatic odor remover in a ready to use spray bottle.
