It is the highlight of 2018 in Frankfurt am Main! Stilbüro bora.herke.palmisano was commissioned by Messe Frankfurt to analyse the latest currents in society, in interior design and in the world of fashion for the leading international trade fair for seasonal and festive decoration and to identify four major trends. The four style worlds that they came up with, vivid heritage, eclectic gathering, balanced sobriety and splendid history, will be staged in the Trend Show from 26 to 30 January 2018, with the help of products provided by the exhibitors. All products used in the displays will be identified with the name and stand number of the individual exhibitor. Moreover, admission to the Trend Show and copies of the trend cards will be available, free of charge, for all buyers from the wholesale, retail and import/export business. Both the Trend Show and the trend cards offer retailers and wholesalers in the sector specific practical assistance with ordering and a helpful guide to creating one s own selection and presenting the goods in shops. A free and, at the same time, sensitive handling of tradition, sense of belonging and history is what currently characterises the creative work of international designers and product developers. This trend is also reflected in the four style worlds we have identified, explains Annetta Palmisano, a designer at Stilbüro bora.herke.palmisano. For the Trends 2018/19, the consultants at the Trend Bureau have brought together the main features with the help of examples provided by international designers and some more detailed descriptions of the materials used. Each of the four styles plays with contrasted combinations and, with them, creates, new, inspirational possibilities for festive decoration so that there is something in the mix to suit the tastes of each and every customer. vivid heritage rich in tradition, lively, full of vitality At the heart of this style are patterns and motifs drawn from folklore, together with handicraft skills and craftsmanship, which, with their modern design and graphical elements, create a contemporary, yet natural, impression. Suitable colour-combinations to go with it are bright vibrant colours, including mustard, petrol and red. Inspiration. Mexico, Brazil, Scandinavia, Rumania, Russia, Poland influences from the most diverse cultural backgrounds come together here. Examples on display include blossom, entwined foliage, ethnic, bold designs and geometrical patterns, mostly produced using typically traditional techniques. Shimmering, vibrant, reflective and lustrous materials such as crystal, foil, mother of pearl and mirror-glass combine with playful details, exaggerated shapes and patterns.
