From sketch pad to manufacture, sales to after-sales service, Street Furniture provides a comprehensive and complete service. We meet all you product requirements including: standard products; standard products with modified parts; or wholly custom-built products. All Street Furniture products use premium materials and are assembled in-house for greater attention to detail and quality control. Products are delivered direct from our Australian factory floor.

4 Where We Are We have furnished more than 25,000 projects in Australia and abroad. Street Furniture Australia, an Australian-owned company, has grown significantly over the years, with established offices throughout Australia as well as overseas. Currently the company has two factories based in Sydney and Brisbane, and sales offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth, as well as partner offices in Adelaide, New York, Auckland and Dubai. Street Furniture has furnished more than 25,000 projects in Australia and abroad. Internationally recognised projects include the Sydney Opera House (Australia), Circular Quay western foreshore (Australia), Taipei 101 building (Taiwan), Kuching Waterfront (Malaysia) and the University of California (USA).

5 History Street Furniture Australia, is the first designer, manufacturer and supplier of urban environment furniture to be established in Australia. The idea for the company originated in 1978 when leading architects Darrel Conybeare and William Morrison identified the poor quality of street furniture in Australia. With the belief that a massmanufacturing approach was key to product improvement, they developed their first seat prototype in a suburban backyard in Sydney. The prototype, now known as the Classic Plaza Seat, was successfully adopted in 1981 to furnish the central city area of Canberra. Other products such as litter bins and bollards were developed and Street Furniture products became established as the standard furnishing in Canberra as well as Sydney. Some notable historical projects include the bus shelters for the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney, the Telstra phone booth, distributed nation-wide, and the furniture suite for Macquarie Street and Circular Quay (western foreshore), Sydney. With more than 320 designed parts, five offices, a head factory, a design studio, and an extensive portfolio of both local and international projects, Street Furniture has the experience and knowledge base to add value to major projects.

6 Company Directors Darrel Conybeare BArch, MCP, FRAIA, FRAPI Darrel Conybeare has worked in the design and development of both interior and exterior furniture for over 45 years, including a three year period in the studio of Charles and Ray Eames in California. As environmental design director for the initial City of Sydney Strategic Plan (1970), he developed a prototype, advertising-free, litter bin and participated in the furniture design for Martin Place, Sydney s first pedestrian precinct. He co-directed the CM+ proposal for the JCDecaux tender bid in 1997 and subsequently managed the initial supply contract between Street Furniture Australia and JCDecaux. Darrel and partner, Bill Morrison, jointly founded SFA in 1986 and established the unique Sydney look of the civic furnishings and embellishments for the Bicentennial projects of Macquarie Street and Circular Quay. William Morrison BArch, FRAIA William Morrison is a graduate of architecture from Sydney University with over 30 years experience in the urban design of cities and the development of streetscapes, waterfronts and urban places, in Australia, the United Kingdom, China and South East Asia. As an extension of the architectural and urban design practice of Conybeare Morrison International, Bill established in 1986 together with Darrel Conybeare, the street furniture design and production business of Street Furniture Australia. During the growth of this business and its expansion into other countries, Bill has promoted the development of new and innovative designs to maintain SFA s reputation at the forefront of public domain furniture.
