3 Boggo Park, Dutton Park QLD Tract is a leading contemporary planning & design practice built on uniting three professional disciplines; town planning, landscape architecture & urban design. Town planning Tract has a reputation for finding innovative planning solutions for complex sites and projects. We offer expertise in site and physical analysis, strategic planning and property development advice to achieve appropriate land use and development outcomes. We have specialized skills in coordinating approvals for a range of small to large scale development projects. We offer high level negotiation skills with local and state authorities to facilitate development approval. Both public and private sector clients benefit from Tract s planning expertise, advice and specialist skills in community consultation and engagement. Urban design Our group is playing an ever increasing role in shaping the built environment in which we live, work and play. Planning plays an important role in identifying and spatially allocating land use functions, and landscape architecture provides design responses to the environment and its uses. It is urban design that bridges these two disciplines and provides the strategies and frameworks to ensure that the three dimensional and physical structure of development is appropriate to the site and its context. Urban design covers the spectrum of community place-making, neighbourhood layouts and design to structure planning for inner and outer urban areas and communal/ public spaces. Our group is highly skilled at generating the appropriate urban design solution for any situation. Landscape architecture The Tract philosophy is to ensure the landscape architectural treatment for any site is of the highest design quality that respects the environment and all its inhabitants. To achieve this we investigate the site to inform the design process and to ensure the ultimate design is respectful of the place and provides a sitespecific design solution. Our appreciation of the multiple and often conflicting aspirations for the space underpins our design response for it. We relish the challenge in resolving these situations. It is our role to create more interesting and creative spaces that bring joy and comfort to people.
4 We see the necessity for landscape architecture to work in association with planning and urban design to meet the challenges of our environment. Tract s expertise in planning and design of land ranges from functionality of land uses, economics, social wellbeing, and environmental sustainability, with a focus on aesthetic order and expression.
