5 STORMWATER TERRACES: Proposed Design Concept DESIGN CONCEPT - STORMWATER TREATMENT PLANTING Scirpus Acutus - Hardstem Bullrush Juncus Effusus - Soft Rush Carex Aquatilis - Water Sedge DESIGN CONCEPT - STORMWATER TREATMENT UNIVERSITY BLVD WATER FEATURE: STORMWATER RE-USE NARRATIVE 1 Stormwater watershed; collect run-off from University Blvd., upcoming Main Mall redevelopment. 9 Central Water Feature Runoff collection points at lawn basins; pipe north, following slope, to mid-slope cistern Direct gravity release of stormwater pipes to stormwater feature (SWF) Distribution-box: primarily storm event, with minimal base flow contribution Stormwater feature (SWF); series of terraced sediment basins with display spill-overs downslope 5 Overflow scupper at lowest basin, direct to SWF collection cistern 6 SWF Cistern beneath lowest basin: continuous pump ( grinder pump ) to D-box to maintain base flow.
