5 Hydro bow screens ewuenviron Hydro bow screens are used in the treatment of process water. The tapered suspension is accelerated, led perpendicular to flot direction and tangential to the bow-shaped screen plate. Centrifugal forces develop through the acceleration, which move the heavy solid particles away from the bow screen. In this way water is discharged through the screen plate and solids are separated. Our bow screens are robust, low in maintenance, self-cleaning and entirely made of stainless steel. Our specially developed high performance screen plates enable the units to be space-saving. Hydro bow screens replace the complicated and expensive screening ma-chines and systems, e.g. in the following areas: filtering, separating, purifying, raking, thickening, recovery, classifying, dewatering. Due to the possibility of achieving optimum performance even by gravity influx, a bow screen does not require additional energy. Simple and economical purification mechanisms are very popular, in particular, for the reputed complicated and costly separating processes, such as prior to biological treatment and in industrial wastewater treatment plants. Other areas of application are: food and beverage industry, laundries and cotton bleach plants, chemical and petrochemical industry. Since the process water circulates in a closed system, it can be used several times. Outputs of up to 250m 3 /h are possible depending on the type of unit. Solids (pollutants) of up to 90 μm can easily be separated. This filter unit ensures that even heat exchangers can be supplied with the filtered process water for energy recovery without any problem.

6 Screen plates Many years of tests resulted in the development of ewuenviron -screen plates, that are particularly well suited for application in our products. They are reflected in all our products in the form of welded wedge wire screens. The hydraulic performance of the screen plates depend on the slot distance and the quality of the feed suspension. The crucial difference here is the viscosity and the temperature of the pumped medium as well as the shape, volume and consistency of the solid particles contained therein. As in the case of all static filters, the separation size depends on the filter cleaning. The size of the flow-through opening is increased by the triangular profile shape; this prevents twisting and creates a self-cleaning effect. Our separation systems can separate particles that are significantly smaller than the slot distance. This is due to the special ewuenviron -inclined position of the profiles and the optimum screen plate radius, tried and tested in numerous trials and have been proved in practice. The ewuenviron -screen plate consists of stainless steel grade , which not only ensures excellent wear protection, but also acid and alkali resistance. The special high performance screen plates can be retrofitted with slot distances of: 0,2 / 0,3 / 0,5 / 1,0 / 1,25 / 1,5 / 2,0 / 3,0 mm If these slot distances do not produce the desired cleaning effect, customised solutions are available. The bow screen housing and the corresponding screen plate are calculated, designed and produced by our staff according to the requirements of our clients. We attach great importance to ensuring that every special requirement is included in the planning process.

7 Open bow screen ewuenviron The BS type of our bow screens is one of the most frequently used housing models. The inlet and outlet can be placed in any position on the housing. Due to the different combination possibilities of the connection types, this design enables a wide range of applications. In contrast to the BS type, the BSL is longer. This ensures a uniform filter area where there is limited free space. Our BSX housings are made of high-grade PE-HWU. This material is characterised by excellent heat resistance up to 80 C and is resistant to acids and bases, making it particularly suitable for application in the chemical and petrochemical industry. This design is very lightweight, characterised by a low overall height. Thus it is suitable for crate washing machines and applications with limited space requirement. The hydro bow screens are available in the following standard widths: mm. However, special designs can be made available in any shape and size. 8 Covered bow screen The BSA type is completely covered. It is equipped with a movable cover in the screen plate area. The cover is attached to the housing with hinges and is easy to operate via the lever and the lockable pneumatic springs. It serves mainly as splash protection and aesthetics of the bow screen. The unit can also be equipped with an inspection glass. An integrated, removable solids container enables post-dewatering of the screening material. The screen plate as well as the solids container are integrated in the housing and covered. Same as in the case of open bow screens, our BSLA type offers a space-saving alternative, that combines a large filter area and low space requirement with the benefits of a covered curved screen. The plastic bow screens can also be equipped with a cover and a removable solids container. Due to the low material-specific weight of the PE-HWU, the BSXA type is supplied without pneumatic springs. The cover is removable and can be made entirely of transparent plastic. The hydro bow screens are available in the following standard widths: mm. 9 Special designs ewuenviron Depending on the solid matter, we equip our hydro bow screen with a specially developed screen plate cleaning. The nozzle arm with flat jet nozzles located above the screen plate ensures trouble-free and unattended operation. An automatic control enables random setting of cleaning cycles and cleaning duration according to the quality of the suspension to be cleaned. On our vibrating bow screens, the solids movement is supported by a dynamic guide plate. Due to vibration, the risk of clogging in the case of very small slot distances of the screen plates is avoided. This means, that more as well as smaller solids are separated. They are also ideally suited as the preliminary stage in membrane cleaning for operational safety and extended service life. A gas-tight version of our hydro bow screen was developed for filtration of odourintensive suspensions. This is supplied with a cover that is bolted on gas-tight around the housing frame. In addition, the bow screen is sealed in such a way that it can compensate even overpressure during the production process. All our units are also available with automatic solids extraction. In this connection, several units can be placed in a row and the solids extraction can take place by means of a spiral conveyor. Furthermore, solids can be transported to low-lying locations in the plant by means of a discharge chute for further use.

10 Drum filter Wedge-wire Screening, filtering, drying, classifying or even cleaning a drum filter has a wide range of possible applications. It is particularly suitable for removing coarse dirt particles of approximately mm from the water. In this case, wedge-wire stands for the use of slotted screens as filter medium. By the use of different slot distances and construction types, a coarse drum filter can be applied in the capacity range of approximately m 3 /h. Depending on the application, there are two different types: screen drum / FOTI- means: filtration outside to inside with inflow side outside drum screen / FITO- means; filtration inside to outside with inflow side inside The functional principle (FOTI) The direction of flow to the screen drum is from the outside. The medium to be cleaned flows through the slots of the drum and solids are retained. Solids are transported forwards due to the slow rotation of the screen drum and removed from the drum by a stripper. These can be subsequently post-treated. The cleaned medium can be discharged and re-used. 11 The functional principle (FITO) The medium to be cleaned is guided through the feed into the drum. Due to gravity, the cleaned liquid flows outward and the solids are retained inside. The internal spiral and the continuous rotation transport the solids to the ejector, where they are collected and post-treated, if necessary. It is particularly well suited for very different, high dirt contamination in the water (e.g. for separation of suspended particles from the water). Here mesh-wire stands for the use of a filter mesh as a filter medium. Due to the pressureless, self-cleaning functionality, drum filters are used where other techniques would cause silting. The functional principle Contrary to drum filters with wedge wire screen baskets, the function in drum filters with filter mesh is always FITO, i.e. filtration inside to outside. The inflowing medium flows through the mesh by its own gravity from inside to outside. The medium is guided from the feed via the central pipe into the drum. This drum consists of an 8-sided stainless steel frame which is covered with a fine filter mesh (screens). The dirt particles stick to the mesh of the screen, due to the rotating movement of the drum.

12 The cleaning nozzles on the upper part of the filter ensure smooth operation. They wash the screens with the already purified water. Solids are collected in a hopper and subsequently transported via the central pipe. 13 Fine Screen Rakes ewuenviron Contrary to our other products, our fine screen rakes are used in areas, where the volume flow to be filtered is not to be diverted from its flow direction. Rakes are according to standard technology, applied in the separation process in the ongoing production cycle in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants, waste treatment and by recovery of reusable materials. Our fine screen rakes are manufactured in various designs. We supply variations with screen belt, rake scrapers with a spring-mounted screen plate and as an extension to the coarse screen rakes available on site. A high level of corrosion resistance and constant readiness for use are ensured by the application of high-grade stainless steel and plastic materials. The low maintenance and easy access to components, as well as the low energy requirement and being easy to manage ensure cost-effective operation of the rakes in all plants. High solid separation is achieved in the medium to be cleaned, even with work angles of up to 60 degrees. Our fine screen rakes are available in the range of mm as well as with slot distances of mm.

14 Screw Screens The ewuenviron -screw screens are suitable for the separation of solids from chutes and containers. Solids are separated from process water due to transverse flow to the screen basket. The solids are subsequently transported by the screw conveyor to the ejector, where they can also be collected in plastic sacks. The screen basked is constantly cleaned by bristles which are mounted on the screw, thus preventing clogging. ewuenviron -screw screens consist of a screen basket with a mesh width of mm and a spiral conveyor of steel. The housing is made entirely of stainless steel The screw screens can be supplied without and with compression module, where post-dewatering and volume reduction of the screening material is ensured. The slow speeds of the shaftless spiral conveyor prevent clogging, even in the case of fibrous materials. Due to the fact that the ewuenviron -screw screen is mounted in a container, it is not connected to a chute and can thus be applied in other areas of solidliquid separation. The screw screens are mm wide and when mounted in a chute, have an output of up to 1000 m 3 /h. 16 Screw Compactors The ewuenviron -screw compactor is particularly suitable for dewatering and/or compaction of residues from wastewater or process water purification. This includes in particular the screened and raked material from mechanical wastewater treatment of coarse and fine rakes, drum screens or bow screens. These screw compactors are used especially for residue dewatering in the paper industry, wood or food processing sectors. The ewuenviron -screw compactor consists of a stainless steel trough with an input shaft and recessed drainage zone. In addition, it is equipped with a spiral of special steel St50 or stainless steel of the grade , specifically developed for heavy-duty application. In order to increase the degree of dewatering, the ewuenviron -screw compactor is also equipped with a specially developed and patented discharge plate apart from the dewatering module. The three most important functions of the screw compactor are transporting, dewatering and compacting. 18 Grit Separator Grit separators / grit classifiers are a significant addition to bow screens. They are particularly used to separate sedimentable solids from liquids. ewuenviron -grit separators consist of an inclined screw conveyor with a large-volume hopper. The shaftless screw spiral of wear-resistant steel plates and the special trough lining ensure blockage-free operation. The ewuenviron -grit separator is made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel The suspension to be filtered is guided to the decanting hopper, in which the sediment settles. Due to the slow rotation of the spiral, the already settled solids are prevented from being swirled up, thus benefitting the settling process. The solids are transported through the spiral to the ejector and the cleaned water can be discharged via an outlet. An efficiency factor of up to 90% can be achieved due to the combination of slowly rotating screw spiral and corresponding decanting hopper. 19 Separators ewuenviron ewuenviron -separators separate solids from water, supported by the gravity principle. They can be used as the downstream cleaning stage for the bow screens as well as in the use of well water. The ewuenviron -separators consist of a separating chamber and a collection chamber. The water to be purified is guided to the separating chamber, tangentially with pressure. In this way, the water is set in rotation and develops an upward secondary flow at the lower end, by means of a baffle plate. The solid particles are pressed against the internal wall by centrifugal forces and transported to the internal collection chamber. The purified water is transported upwards and discharged by means of the secondary flow. Separators are typical classifiers, which are used in different ways in process technology. They can separate large solid particles of µm with clear separation efficiency. 21 Screw Separators ewuenviron The ewuenviron -screw separator was specially developed for the treatment of cattle and pig liquid manure; reliably separating the solids from the liquid phase. The result is a solid material, which can be used as animal bedding, soil fertilizer or even as an additive in biogas plants. The final product is odourless and dewatered to a large extent. Therefore, it can be used, for example, as animal bedding. The pumpable liquid component parts can be used for manure irrigation. The ewuenviron -screw separator is fed from the top with liquid manure. A screw spiral transports the material through a screen basket with a slot distance of 0.5 mm into the the solids output. On the solids output there is a membrane which is reinforced with spring steel. This membrane is pressed against the material, compacted and subsequently dewatered. 23 Electro-flotation ewuenviron Electro-flotation is a separation process for cleaning of different process and wastewaters. Water is separated by a D.C voltage, where dispersed particles form flakes by means of gas bubbles in the liquid. These flakes rise to the surface of the liquid and form a separable foam layer. The floating solid foam (flotate) contains the particles to be separated. Formation of these flakes occurs at a ph value of 5 to 9. The process or wastewaters must be flaked outside of these ph values by means of regulating substances. The separated solids can then be compacted via a chamber filter press and subsequently dewatered. Electro-flotation is applied in the electroplating industry, the metal processing industry, packaging industry, textile finishing, paint and coating industry, container cleaning, printing and many more, in order to remove substances like arsenic, cadmium, chrome, copper, lead, nickel, silver or zinc from the water. The electro-flotation unit of Haase Abwassertechnik GmbH & Co. KG consists of a reactor with a feed pump and a switchgear cabinet including a Siemens control system. The components can be mounted on a frame to enable flexible applications and easy transport. This frame can be moved with a fork lift truck. Contrary to other water treatment systems, the ewuenviron -electroflotation unit does not require any chemical additives.
