Quality refrigerators and freezers for professional food retailers and kitchens The most practical requirement for any user is to have a cabinet which is easy to use and economical to run with a good life cycle impact such as long lasting and easy to re-cycle at end of life. With Porkka up to 90% of the cabinet can be re-cycled. Good design and strength of material allows up to 70 kilos product to be stored on each shelf, also our specially designed top mounted refrigeration cassette increases usable volume within the cabinet. Renowned for our quality and ergonomic design, our cabinets are simple to operate with clear easy to read digital temperature display, removal of the shelving system and pilasters by hand allows for efficient all round deep cleaning. Manufactured and tested to climate class 5 ensures the cabinets will operate in ambient temperatures up to +43 C. (Excludes glass door models which are manufactured and tested to climate class 4 and can operate in ambient temperature of +32 C). Life cycle impact on the environment is also very important to Porkka and to this end these cabinets are manufactured to a high standard giving the operator years of service with the option of reduced running costs, when selecting the Future Plus series. It is easy to clean the condenser of the Future cabinet in the front. Flashing csd (condenser cleaning) on the display indicates the need to clean the condenser. Our cassette refrigeration unit is top mounted and incorporates the evaporator out side of the cabinet body, increasing the overall storage space. Both freezer and medium temperature cabinets are now fitted with energy saving, automatic, fast efficient hot gas defrost systems. New low energy condenser and evaporator fan motors also assist in reducing running costs as well as improving performance. Evaporator fan motors are stopped automatically when the door is to improve performance and cooling effect. Haccp temperature monitoring at the push of a button Food handling monitoring as required by the EU and national HACCP requirements including accurate temperature storage records, has brought new challenges for all professionals serving food to the public. Porkka as an optional extra can supply an XWEB system, which is an independent monitoring and alarm control system, in real time and is the ideal answer to meeting legal requirements. All necessary information for the authorities are held in the system and are easy to retrieve at any time, you can even adjust the cabinet temperature using the XWEB by remote control. All refrigerants used within the Future and Future Plus range are CFC and HCFC free and the cabinets are designed and tested to international standard ISO Porkka also manufacture to ISO 9001 quality standard and ISO environmental certification both verified by Lloyds. Every care has been taken to ensure all our cabinets meet all the requirements of the European Unions food legislation. Memory stick recording A memory stick based temperature recording system is available for Porkka cold equipment. The unit, attached in the front panel of the cold equipment and equipped with its own digital display, real time clock and calendar, records the temperature data. With recording intervals of 15 minutes, there will be room for about one year s data on the memory stick. Naturally, the recording interval can be adjusted according to the needs. Depending on the length of the recording intervals it will take no more than 15 seconds to transfer the data to the memory stick. As soon as the data has been recorded on the memory stick, the stick will be connected to the USB port of the computer and all the information can be seen on the display. The numerical data is easy to work up with Excel software. A 24 hours battery back-up is available as an accessory. Versatile range Both Future and Future Plus series of cabinets are available as chillers for general produce, medium for fresh meat or fish and freezer which can be adjusted to 25 C for the storage of hard ice cream. The cabinets are ideal for professional kitchens, shops, restaurants, cafes, fast food restaurants, garage forecourts and many other outlets. 3 Exterior and interior finishes and features Long lasting durable materials Future and Future Plus cabinets can be supplied with visible surfaces made from stainless steel which is grade AISI 304. There is an optional exterior finish of white polyester coated sheet steel when required. The bottom of the base and the rear exterior back plate are supplied in corrosion resistant galvanised steel sheet. Combi cabinets, RIC and RIF roll-in cabinets are only produced with stainless steel finish both internally and externally. Micro processor controller The control unit is fitted with an easy to read digital temperature display. Temperature can be changed at the push of a button. The controller is fitted with a built in high/low temperature alarm, the timing of the alarm can be adjusted to suit your requirements. Alarm signal is both audible and visual. The alarm signal can also be sent to a building monitoring system by means of a volt free connection. The optional XWEB system can be supplied to continuously monitor temperature and alarm status. Blocked condenser alarm One of the main reasons for increased running costs and eventual breakdown is a blocked or dirty condenser. Porkka Future cabinets are fitted with blocked condenser alarm which alerts the operator to clean the condenser when appropriate. Future Plus cabinets have a similar facility which indicates when the air intake filter requires cleaning. Lock Solid door cabinets are fitted with a lock situated in the middle of the upper panel as standard. Shelving Each cabinet is supplied with durable wire coated steel shelves with an option to select super strong, stainless steel panel shelves. Anti-tilt shelf runners are fitted to allow shelves to be pulled out for access to product at the rear of the shelf without tipping up and stock falling out. The whole shelving system including pilasters can be removed by hand for easy all round cleaning. Handles and doors The formed rounded edge of the door acts as the handle. This is easy to keep clean and reduces possible dirt traps. Doors are fitted with heavy duty sprung loaded hinges allowing the door to stay open at 90 but self closing below this point. Durable magnetic gaskets are supplied which are easy to change by simply pulling out and pushing in a new one if required. Easy to clean construction The inner base of the cabinet forms a basin with rounded corners to catch spillages and making them easy to clean. Interior corners are also rounded to avoid possible dirt traps and to facilitate all round sanitising. RIC 960 cabinets for use with trolleys are fitted with a stainless steel flat base. Optional legs short legs castors To meet various international requirements both Future and Future Plus cabinets can be fitted with various size legs or castors. With standard round adjustable legs the external height of the Future cabinet will be 2030 mm and the Future Plus 2100 mm. These legs can be adjusted between 150 and 200 mm. The cabinets can also be supplied on short legs when the height of the Future cabinet will be 1970 mm and the Future Plus becomes 2040 mm. If required cabinets can be supplied on 100 mm castors (standard on UK models) as an optional extra in this instance the height of the Future cabinet becomes 1990 mm and the Future Plus 2060 mm. Two castors on the front of the cabinet are lockable and three on the larger double door cabinet are also lockable. Remote refrigeration systems Future cabinets can be ordered ready for connection to either a central plant or remote condensing unit system as required. Shelving systems There is an option to select super strong stainless steel panel shelves which have a weight capacity of up to 70 kg per shelf. Wire baskets are a further option and are ideal for freezers where bagged or slippery products are to be stored. They are also useful to replace the bottom shelf for more ergonomic storage solution. The height of the baskets are 120 mm. Brackets for bakery plates Models 720, 722 and 730, 732 can be supplied fitted to accept 21 Euronorm bakery plates. The brackets fitted allows for a 30 mm gap between each plate. As standard for plate size 600 x 450 mm. Foot pedal operation There is an option to have a foot pedal door opener fitted. This is ideal where both hands are being used when requiring access to a cabinet. Note foot pedal is not available on glass door or combi cabinets. Lock Abloy CL104 lock assembly can be supplied as an option. Lighting Solid door cabinet can be supplied with an optional led light that is automatically operated via the door open switch. This option not available on combi cabinets. Glass door models Future 722 and 1422 cabinets can be ordered with glass doors. In this instance there are led tubes fitted within the side walls for internal illumination operated via a light switch. Roll-in cabinet ric 960 and rif 960 are for operations where trolleys are used The roll-in chiller cabinets RIC 960 and RIC-T 960 are designed solely for trolley use. These cabinets can accept a wide range of trolley sizes, the clear opening of the doors is 710 wide and 1860 mm high. The RIC-T 960 is supplied with two doors for pass through operation. Both models are floor mounted and the area where they are positioned must be level and must not vary by more than +/ 3 mm/metre. 4 Simple to operate and easy to use with clear digital control panel and hygienic surfaces. Future cabinet are also high quality and suitable for all food storage requirements. Three temperature ranges are produced, chillers for general provisions, medium temperature for fresh meat of fish and freezer for all types of frozen foods including hard ice cream. Future Plus is the top of the range model with low energy consumption. Energy consumption is 20% lower than many competitors. Air intake at the bottom of the cabinet ensures the coolest air is fed to the condenser through a filter ensuring lower energy consumption. Future Combi cabinets are ideally suited for a small storage requirements, where professional equipment is still required. They save space with a small foot print but are capable of storing both chilled and frozen food. Combi cabinets are produced to the same high standard with low energy consumption. Future cabinets fitted with glass doors are an excellent choice where visual capability is required, this for instance, reduces door opening times, as the item is easily located prior to opening the door. They can also be used as merchandisers with high visual impact for consumers. Chiller and freezer solely for use with trolleys, RIC 960 and RIF 960 are designed for the storage of ready chilled products and can accept various sizes and types of trolleys. The operating temperature is RIC +2 to +12 C (adjustable). RIF 22 to 18 C (adjustable). The door is equipped with heavy duty sprung hinges with automatic self closing and 90 dwell open. Supplied as standard with a right hand hinged door but can be left handed if required, please advise at time of ordering. When positioning the cabinet the cabinet allow a clear height of 2450 mm and 800 mm clear space in front of the cabinet doors to allow full door opening. The Future Plus cabinets has been designed with a special bottom mounted air intake, which is fitted with an easy to clean filter, which channels the coolest air available to the condenser at the top of the cabinet. In various tests it was found that the temperature difference between floor and roof height can be up to 7 C cooler thus reducing running costs. This type of construction not only reduces energy usage but lengthens the lifetime of the cooling unit by reducing operating hours, as the warmer it becomes the longer the equipment has to run. The filter also assists in reducing electrical consumption by keeping the condenser clean and operating more efficiently increasing the cabinet s life cycle impact on the environment. Cleaning the filter can not be easier, just pull out the tray remove filter, wash and replace and if you forget the built in alarm will remind you if the filter becomes blocked. 5 Porkka XWEB monitoring Porkka XWEB is an independent monitoring and alarm warning control system for refrigeration equipment. XWEB is a compact powerful computer that operates as an independent network server complete with its own ready-made web page. Information can be accessed either by the internet, browser or a GPRS-enabled mobile phone. Porkka can offer several versions to suit small to large operators. The XWEB allows 24/7 monitoring, controlling and adjusting in real time. It continuously records temperature and alarm data and will notify specific personnel of equipment failure. The system can be accessed from any computer as software is not required to gain entry to the programme. Simple supervision Compared to traditional, passive monitoring the Porkka XWEB offers real time temperature monitoring and alarm notification, which can be integrated within an existing BMS (Building Monitoring System). Browser facilities enable access for holders with a username and password at several levels if required. Information distribution to all relevant personnel is also quick and easy. Reduced operating costs Monitoring real time temperature data can give quick and effective information on how a particular item of equipment is being used. This in turn can allow the operator to control the operation of the equipment more effectively and reduce energy consumption. Maintenance personnel can also gain valuable information from data, such as when servicing is required. This also has the effect of reducing main component failure which reduces overall running costs. Intelligence = knowledge Porkka XWEB allows the operator to use the refrigeration equipment being monitored more effectively which is better for the environment.
