6 How to Get the Best Results When Using Your Artisan Griller Gloves! "These gloves are the best! The fit and quality are way better than most of the other gloves I've tried. Carpenter Here's how to get the best results using your new Artisan Griller Gloves We recommend that you wash the gloves good with soap and water before using them. Let them air dry good and then use the zipper bag that they came in to store. Try not to get the cotton liner wet. If you do, insert a large spoon or other object in the gloves so air can circulate inside and dry the liner. If the liner stays damp, it could develop mildew. 2. While the gloves are heat and fire resistant, try not to expose them directly to fire or flames. The gloves can withstand up to 500 degrees F without burning or melting and will protect your hands while grilling or tending your smoker. However, a direct flame can damage them. 3. The quality neoprene coating can take it all. The flexible waterproof neoprene coating on this glove is resistant to heat, grease, oil, water and stains while protecting your hands. They even protect against steam unlike most other gloves. 4. Artisan Griller gloves have multiple layers of protection and insulation. You are protected by three levels of protection, the soft cotton liner, the neoprene coating and the layer of air between your hand and the glove. A:The glove can withstand temperatures of 500 degrees F. without burning or melting. They are designed primarily for smoker and BBQ temperatures of around 250 degrees but can be used on grills and in the kitchen at higher temperatures. The chart below lists the approximate times you can handle items at different temperatures. The chart is approximate and your experience may be different depending on your personal comfort level. Advised Temperature/time Threshold Chart The threshold time is the time at which the inner surface temperature of the gloves becomes uncomfortable for the user. Contact Temperature Threshold Time in Second 500 degrees F. (500C) 12 to degrees F (400C) 15 to degrees F. (350C) 20 to degrees F. (250C) 40 to 60 or more Q: Are the gloves supposed to have a loose fit? A:The glove are a size 10/XL and will fit most people well. They are supposed to fit loose, be put on and off easily and be comfortable on your hands. The loose fit creates a cushion of air which helps with the insulating properties of the gloves. They may seem bulky at first but will soften up with use.

8 Q: Why do the gloves seem to have an odor when I take them out of the bag? A: The gloves are made with a jersey cotton liner coated in neoprene. Neoprene is a synthetic rubber that will have an odor after being sealed in the bag. This is normal and will be reduced greatly after washing the gloves and letting them air dry. Some people are naturally more sensitive to the neoprene coating but the gloves are perfectly safe for food contact. Q: Are these gloves easy to clean? Can you put them in the dishwasher? A:The glove are super easy to clean. Just put them on your hands and wash with soap and water (refer to the use tips in this instructional sheet) We don't recommend washing them in the dishwasher because most dishwashing soaps will damage the cotton liner and will get the interior very wet which will need to be dried completely to avoid mildew Q: Will these gloves protect me from steam? A:Absolutely, unlike knit or thin rubber gloves, the Artisan Griller gloves will offer protection from steam. The extended length also offers protection of your forearm. Q: I work in a kitchen. Can these be used as oven gloves as well, removing pans that have been in a F oven for ~45 minutes. A:Yes, these gloves are great for this task while also protecting you from potential spilled liquids or juices (See the temperature chart above for approximate times).
