2 Batteries Australian Battery Recycling Program Mobile Phone Batteries Un-used Medicines/Pharmaceuticals Return any mobile phone handset, battery or accessory from the participating mobile phone companies: Alcatel, Brightpoint, Ericsson, Motorola, NEC, Nokia, Panasonic, Philips and RF Industries. This is a free service. Currently there are no options for recycling or reusing household batteries. It is recommended that rechargeable batteries be used to reduce this waste. Places that should accept phones are Telstra T-shop, OPTUS World, Strathfield Car Radios and Vodafone. Everyday household batteries cannot be recycled at present. The batteries should be disposed of in your normal household bin. These include AA, AAA, C, D and 9V batteries. Mechanic or Battery Replacement Service Used Motor Oil When a battery is replaced, the mechanic should take the old battery for recycling and proper disposal free of charge. Swap new for old when getting a replacement battery. Summerhill Waste Management Centre Ph Newcastle City Council and Nationwide Oil P/L A maximum of 20 litres of domestic used motor oil can be recycled for free at Summerhill Waste Management Centre. Deposit used motor oil in a sealed container (10ltr max.) Used motor oil is accepted for recycling. Take to the Waste Management Centre and dispose of in the receptacle provided. Dry out paint and dispose in garbage bin.
