WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU BEGIN For your stisfction nd sfety, red ll instructions, cutions nd wrnings efore instlling or using this instnt hot wter dispenser. This prticulr unit is not intended for commercil use. Mke sure tht ll electricl wiring nd connections conform to locl codes. A stndrd 115-volt grounded electricl outlet is required under the sink for the dispenser s electricl power. The wll outlet powering your dispenser must hve power supplied to it continuously. This outlet must e fused nd should not e controlled y the sme wll switch tht opertes the disposer, unless you hve SinkTop Switch from InSinkErtor. Fucet must e instlled such tht the outlet opening is greter thn 1" ove the overflow rim of the sink. It is recommended tht dedicted control vlve e instlled on the cold wter line supplying wter to this system. If you suspect elevted levels of chlorine in your wter, or your wter hs rusty ppernce efore the instlltion of this unit, it is recommended to use our wter filtrtion system. This product contins stinless steel. The mnufcturer cnnot gurntee ginst rusty wter ecuse of the numer of fctors tht re involved eyond the mnufcturer s control. However, the sudden ppernce of rusty wter dischrged from the hot wter dispenser my indicte the need for service or replcement of this product. The use of wter filter should NOT result in the wter pressure to drop elow 30 psi (207kP). If it does, this will prevent your unit from operting properly. See Step 1-B. If you need to cut mounting hole in your stinless steel sink, you my need 1-1/4" 1-1/2" hole sw mde for cutting stinless steel or hole punch. Consult professionl if you re drilling into surfce other thn stinless steel. 3 COMPONENTS IN THIS PACKAGE 2 Unpck INSTALLING THE FAUCET dispenser components. On firm, flt surfce, crefully strighten the copper tuing using hnds only. H-SH10-SS START HERE 1 PREPARATION Identify loctions for the dispenser fucet, tnk nd filter (if pplicle). Check to mke sure counter is 2" thick or less. Mke sure there is grounded electricl outlet under the sink. The wll outlet for your dispenser must hve power supplied to it continuously nd must e fused. It should not e controlled y the sme wll switch tht opertes your disposer, unless using n InSinkErtor SinkTop Switch. Semi-Circulr Mounting Plte Ruer Wsher Plstic Spcer Long Nut 3/4" Screws (2) Tnk Required minimum from center of hole to wll 2" Mximum counter thickness is 2" If you hve to drill through sink or countertop, you my need to rent or purchse the pproprite tools. Turn off wter supply. If using the sink spryer hose hole, remove nut tht connects spryer hose t ottom of fucet. Using djustle wrench, remove nut connecting spryer wsher flnge in spryer hole. Plug hose opening with either 1/8" plug or 1/4" cp (not supplied). Property Dmge: Do not pinch or rek copper tuing. Feed tues down the hole in the sink or countertop until the se is t rest on the sink or countertop surfce. From under the sink, plce the ruer wsher, plstic spcer nd semi-circulr mounting plte onto the threded stud. Plce long nut onto the threded stud. Mke sure fucet hed is t the desired ngle. Tighten the long nut until snug, while ensuring the semi-circulr mounting plte extends eyond the sink hole. Do not over tighten long nut. My cuse dmge to fucet. Wht if you don t hve spryer hole or don t wnt to use it? Mny homeowners replce the sop dispenser in their sink with n instnt hot wter dispenser. If drilling hole into stinless steel sink or counter top, you cn cut mounting hole for the dispenser with hole sw for stinless steel, or you cn use hole punch. 5

The tnk should e to ensure proper opertion. within 16" or less of fucet wter lines nd within 30" or less of stndrd grounded outlet. MOUNTING THE TANK Property Dmge: Tnk must e locted within 16" of fucet nd within 30" or less of stndrd grounded outlet. DO NOT extend pluming or electricl lines. Leve 1/4" for hnging tnk. Mount tnk verticlly in n re tht llows clernce on the underside of the tnk for dringe, if necessry. DO NOT over tighten screws. While holding tnk in plce on the spot selected for instlltion, use pencil to mrk loctions for 2 hnging screws. Screws provided re for use in wood studs or cinets only. Use wll nchors (not supplied) for instlltion into drywll. Pre-drill 1/8" pilot holes t mrks. Turn screws into pre-drilled holes, leving 1/4" exposed. Hng the tnk on the screws. Tighten the screws with only 1/2 turn clockwise. 5 Instll 6 FINAL WATER CONNECTION 1/4" Copper Tue Brss Nut Ferrule Property Dmge: Join remining tue to cold wter supply only. T-fitting (not included) onto the cold wter supply line. Instll dedicted wter control vlve with 1/4" compression fitting (not included). At the end of the copper 1/4" tue, slide the rss nut nd ferrule provided with the control vlve over the tue. Insert the copper tue into the 1/4" compression fitting nd tighten. FILL TANK & THEN CONNECT POWER Turn on the cold wter supply. Depress the dispenser s hot utton nd hold it until wter flows from the spout (pproximtely 1 to 2 minutes). Run the wter for t lest 2 minutes to flush lines. 4 CONNECTING FAUCET TO TANK (1) (2) (3) Property Dmge: Pinched or locked wter lines my cuse dmge to the dispenser tnk. Without depressing the gry utton, plce the snp-connect fitting t the end of the lue 1/4" tue onto the left fitting on the tnk, pushing until it clicks into plce. (1) Slip the flexile white 7/16" tue over red steel fitting nd slide down pproximtely 1/2". (2) Slip the cler 5/16" tue over the smooth plstic fitting nd slide down pproximtely 1/2". (3) Visully check for pinched or crimped tues. Hose clmps re not needed for ny of the connections. Electric Shock Hzrd: A stndrd grounded outlet within 30" of the dispenser is required under the sink. Do not use n extension cord set with the dispenser. Sclding Hzrd: The fucet dispenses ner-oiling (200ºF) wter which cn instntly cuse sclds or urns. Use cre when operting this pplince. Check ll connections to ensure they re tight nd tht there re no leks. Plug in instnt hot wter tnk. Wter will e cold t first. Allow minutes for wter to rech trget temperture. Gurgling or hissing is norml during the initil heting cycle. 6 7

DO NOT modify this system. DO NOT close vent tue or connect other type dispensers or vlves to the tnk. Use only the InSinkErtor dispenser fucet supplied. Use only prts provided. DO NOT store or use gsoline or other flmmle vpors nd liquids in the vicinity of this or ny other pplince. Lek Hzrd: Regulrly inspect dispenser nd pluming fittings for leks, which cn cuse property dmge nd/or could result in personl injury. Property Dmge: To void wter dmge, replce ny loose or split tuing. Periodiclly inspect the unit for ny signs of lekge nd immeditely remove from service ny unit suspected of leking. An instnt hot wter dispenser, like ny wter heter, hs limited life nd will eventully fil. To void possile property dmge nd personl injury, this instnt hot wter dispenser should e regulrly exmined for lekge nd/or corrosion nd replced when necessry. A drin pn, plumed to n pproprite drin or outfitted with lek detector, should e used in those pplictions where ny lekge could cuse property dmge. To check for corrosion, exmine the ppernce of the dispensed wter in cler glss once every three (3) months. If there is ny discolortion or rusty ppernce, unplug nd drin unit s descried in the Sesonl Storge/Dringe section on pge 13 of this mnul. 6 CARE AND USE Electric Shock Hzrd: To prevent electricl shock, disconnect power efore servicing unit. Use only properly grounded nd polrized electric outlet. ADJUSTING THE THERMOSTAT Fctory temperture pre-set pprox. 200 is pproximtely 200 F. Adjust the thermostt slowly, turning the dil clockwise to increse temperture or counter clockwise to decrese temperture, then ctivte fucet utton for 20 seconds to ring in fresh wter to e heted t the new setting. Allow 5-7 minutes for wter to rech new temperture. To reset the thermostt to 200, turn the indictor two notches to the right of verticl. Sclding Hzrd: Do not llow wter to oil. My result in severe urns. SEASONAL STORAGE/DRAINAGE Anytime the instnt hot wter dispenser is not used for extended periods of time, unplug nd drin unit. If it is elow freezing you will need to unplug the unit nd drin it. Disconnect power from unit (unplug unit). Push hot wter dispenser fucet utton nd llow wter to flow until it is cool. Shut the cold wter supply off t the vlve. Disconnect tues from the tnk. Unhook tnk from wll. Hold tnk upside down nd drin the wter into the sink. Towel dry ny wter drippings from tnk re. Reinstll tnk to wll nd reconnect tues. Remove nd discrd filter crtridge, if pplicle. To put ck into working order, instll new filter crtridge (if pplicle) nd turn on cold wter supply t vlve. Push the hot wter dispenser fucet utton nd hold until wter flows from the spout. Reconnect the electricl cord. (Refer to Pge 7, Step 6B) CLEANING THE FAUCET AND TANK Only use mild cleners to clen the fucet nd plstic components. Cleners with cids, rsives, lkline or orgnic solvents will result in deteriortion of the plstic components nd void the wrrnty. PROPERTY DAMAGE Regulrly inspect the unit for ny signs of lekge. If there re signs of wter dmge, immeditely remove the unit from service. To void wter dmge from lekge, replce ll cut, loose or split tuing. A drin pn, plumed to n pproprite drin or outfitted with lek detector, should e used in those pplictions where ny lekge could cuse property dmge. PERSONAL INJURY Regulrly check for signs of corrosion y exmining the ppernce of the dispensed wter. If there is ny discolortion or rusty ppernce, unplug nd drin unit s descried in the Sesonl Storge/Dringe section on this pge of the mnul. If the wter discolortion remins fter drining nd refilling unit, discontinue use nd contct n uthorized InSinkErtor service gent. For fresher tsting wter, dd filtrtion to your instnt hot wter dispenser system. InSinkErtor offers the only wter filtrtion system designed specificlly for instnt hot wter dispensers. Thermostt is not djusted to your needs. Outlet tue is locked. The expnsion chmer isn t drining properly due to low wter pressure. The spout is locked. Deris in the wter line my e in the fucet vlve set cusing slow wter lek. WHAT TO DO Activte fucet lever to relese some wter from the tnk. Adjust wter temperture using dil on tnk front. Rememer tht t higher ltitudes, wter oils t lower tempertures. Mke sure the unit is connected to properly grounded electric outlet. Mke sure the circuit reker or fuses re functioning properly. Check tht the outlet is not switched off. Adjust the thermostt slowly, then ctivte fucet lever for 20 seconds to ring in fresh wter to e heted t the new setting. Allow 5-7 minutes for wter to rech new temperture. Unplug the unit. If the dripping doesn t stop fter few minutes, check the supply vlve to ensure tht is fully open nd there re no ostructions in the wter line reducing the pressure elow 30 psi (i.e., poorly mounted sddle vlve, clogged wter filter, or prtilly opened shut-off vlve). Unscrew spout end piece nd clen out ny deris. Unscrew spout end piece nd clen out ny deris. Activte fucet utton 7-10 times to flush fucet & lines. Divided strem. Deris in the end piece. Unscrew spout end piece nd clen out ny deris. Wter discolortion/ rusty ppernce. TROUBLESHOOTING Corrosion of unit. Check tht outlet tue is not kinked, twisted or pinched. Unscrew spout end piece nd clen out ny deris. Unplug nd drin unit s descried in the Sesonl Storge/Dringe Section on pge 10 of this mnul.
