2 Dockrillia racemosa North east Queensland Atherton Tableland and adjacent areas Grows on the upper branches of rainforest trees especially along ridge tops above 1000m where there are frequent mists and fogs. Grown on a slab of cork so plant grows upright; placed on bench under 50% shade; Watered daily in summer and fortnightly in winter. Fertilized with low nitrogen in summer Scaphyglottis fasciculata Dockrillia striolata Blue Mountains to Eastern Victoria Lithophyte forming masses on boulders and rock faces from full sun to partial shade. Grown in pots in shade house but brought out to enjoy the cold in winter. Watered twice weekly in summer and fortnightly in winter. Fertilized with low nitrogen in summer

3 Dockrillia teretifolia Endemic from Central Queensland (Rockhampton) to Southern New South Wales (Bega) Grows on rainforest trees, moist habitats in more open forests, mangroves Grown on slabs and hung in shade house under 50% shade and also hung high in Callistemon trees to catch the breezes. Watered daily in summer and fortnightly in winter. Fertilized with low nitrogen in summer Ludisia discolor Cattleya intermedia var. coerulea

4 Dendrobium goldschmidtianum Rhynchostylis gigantea Yunnan, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam Grows in bright light (not direct sun) at low altitudes on trees. Requires hot humid conditions. Grown in an open free draining mix, in bright light under 50% shade. Watered daily in Summer and weekly in the winter. Each week, low fertilizer is given in the warmer months. Rhynchostylis gigantea

5 Maxillariella variabilis Bulbophyllum schillerianum North East Queensland to Central New South Wales Cooktown to Newcastle. Pendulous epiphyte; grows on a variety of trees along streams and watercourses, near swamps. Likes a moist, humid, airy habitat. Prefers a shady site. Easy to grow on cork or Callistemon. Water well in summer and sparingly in winter. Fertilize with low nitrogen during warmer weather. Grown in bush house in a shady location. Aerangis citrata

Grown on a mount and hung in the Callistemon tree to catch the breezes. Often watered in winter at night to induce flowering (If there is a breeze) Watered daily in summer and fortnightly in winter.
