10 News You Can Use page 10 A VERY SPECIAL DAY AT BEN FRANKLIN SCHOOL Winter is always a time for Master Gardener Volunteers at Ben Franklin to teach nutrition. That includes identifying food groups, reading nutrition labels, eating home made potato soup, learning about various grains and making multigrain bread. This year, health issues prohibited a few of our regular volunteers from attending but several MGVs from the BF Vegetable garden and other programs came to the rescue. Thank you! Together, 10 MGVs helped the children make 60 loaves of bread! The children took their bread back to the classrooms for it to rise. It was then baked in the teacher's oven. While it was baking, teachers and children commented on the incredible smell floating throughout the building. Once again we came together and our efforts were a success. We re proud of our program and invite you to come and see. Better yet, come and join us!
