2 PARTNER CLUBS Southern Koi Association The Southern Koi Association (SKA) is based in Florida, however the chapter has members from throughout the southeastern USA and beyond. The club s founding members are avid koi show people and collectors who have attended and helped manage shows in Florida and outside the state for many years. The focus of this club is solely koi with emphasis on appreciation of these beautiful fish and learning to grow them to their maximum potential. Members of SKA are students of water quality, koi pond and filtration design, koi health, and of course, the many koi varieties and their origins. SKA is ZNA International affiliated. For information go to: or contact Richard Porter at wrporter@embarqmail.com Florida East Coast Koi & Water Garden Society The Florida East Coast Koi and Water Garden Society s mission is to educate and promote the enjoyment of ponds, Koi and aquatic plants. Most members are in the coastal counties of Flagler, Volusia, and Brevard. Meetings are held pondside at members homes throughout the year except for the months of March and July. Guests are welcome at our meetings and club members are always ready to share information about pond building, fish husbandry, and growing aquatic plants. Gainesville Koi Club The Gainesville club, affectionately called "The Pondhoppers," was founded in The main objective of the club is to encourage interest, study, and a greater appreciation in the hobbies of Koi Keeping and Water Gardening. The club provides information on all aspects of these hobbies using our members and local experts as resources for answers to questions about Koi Keeping, designing and maintaining ponds, and providing a healthy habitat for aquatic life. For more information about the club, contact Don Hellard at dhellard@ gmail.com Orlando Area Koi & Pond Club The Orlando Area Koi & Pond Club is comprised of about 50 koi and water garden enthusiasts living in the greater Orlando area. The club meets the third weekend of each month pondside at a member s home to listen to educational presentations on Koi and water gardening. Club membership consists of a wide range of experience levels -- from beginner to very experienced hobbyists. Members meet mornings on the first Sunday of the month at our members homes in the Marion and Citrus County area. Teaching sessions, trading ideas, learning from and helping each other and enjoying the company of koi and pond people is what we are about. 3 On behalf of the Central Florida Koi Show staff and the members of the Florida East Coast Koi and Pond Club, Gainesville Koi Club, Orlando Area Koi and Pond Club, Rainbow River Koi Club, and the ZNA Southern Koi Association welcome to the 18th Central Florida Koi Show. It is an honor to have so many friends and family in the koi community represented at this show. There are so many things you can see and do at the CFKS KOI SHOW The koi show is taking place under the large tent in the parking area to the northeast of the hotel tower. Benching of the koi begins on Friday afternoon. Judging will take place on Saturday morning. GOLDFISH SHOW The goldfish show is taking place in the conference room to the right of the entrance to the hotel tower Atrium. Judging of the goldfish will take place on Saturday morning. CLUB TABLES Talk with members of the local koi clubs and learn more about the hobby of koi keeping. Pick up free literature to learn how to join a local club and how to maintain a pond for raising koi. VENDORS Vendors are located in the Atrium area, in some of the rooms off the Atrium, and under the large tent in the parking area. Our vendors are here to answer questions, educate, and supply you with whatever your needs for koi keeping may require. These vendors are very dedicated to the hobby. Our hope is that you will support their commitment to our show and the hobby. SEMINARS There are informative seminars all day on Saturday on a variety of topics. Please see the Seminar Schedule in this booklet. The cost for Friday s seminar is $20 and will allow you to attend all seminars on Saturday. The cost for Saturday only seminars is $10. RAFFLE Raffle tickets will be sold at the Welcome Table in the entrance to the hotel tower Atrium area. Numbers will be called all day Saturday and will also be posted at the Welcome Table. Many of our vendors have donated some very nice items to the raffle. SOCIAL HOUR, BANQUET, AWARDS CEREMONY On Saturday night there is a social hour with a cash bar beginning at 7:00 PM. The banquet and award ceremony will take place immediately following the social hour in the Amelia and Biscayne Rooms in the Conference Center of the hotel with dinner being served at 7:30 PM. Space permitting, tickets can be purchased at the Registration Table.

4 FRIDAY MARCH 13 9:00 AM - Koi entrants begin arriving in show ring area (Tent). First of two day seminars begin (see Seminars) 11:00 AM ZNA Presidents Meeting with ZNA Judges meeting to immediately follow. (Not open to the public) 1:00 PM - Vendor area opens (Atrium area in Tower building and Show tent). 3:00 PM - ZNA Judging Seminar (Open to all koi hobbyists) 5:30 PM - Vendor booths close. Note: The vendor area generally closes at 5:30 PM on Friday and Saturday, and at 3 PM on Sunday. The show tent area is open from sun up to sun down Friday and until 6 PM on Saturday. The inner circle of the show tent will be closed at 9:45 AM Saturday for judging. The koi and judging can still be viewed from outside the show tanks. 6:30 PM - Friday Night BBQ - A social and time to meet the judges. Note: Koi show entrants, club volunteers and members, vendors, and guests are invited to attend our Friday Night Social. 8:00 PM - Koi Society Annual Business Meeting SATURDAY MARCH 14 9:00 AM - Seminars continue 10:00 AM - 3:00PM -Koi judging (Tent) 7:00 PM - Awards Banquet "social hour" (Front building) 7:30 PM - Buffet opens SUNDAY MARCH 15 11:00 AM - Judges Talk Around the Show Tanks. 12:00-3:00 - All koi show entrants must be removed from show tanks, koi show break down begins! 3:00-5:00 - Vendor area closes and breakdown begins. 9 FRIDAY March 13 3:00 PM ZNA Koi Judging/Koi Appreciation Seminar This is a unique opportunity to learn the essential points considered when judging koi. There is a $20 fee for this seminar that will include admission to the Saturday seminars. We thank Devin Swanson of Koi Acres for providing koi for the ZNA Judging Seminar.
