7 Alarms Guide 1. Introduction 1 Introduction This Alarms Guide helps customer developers direct SNMP alarms to an application external to AudioCodes' ARM. The guide provides information about each alarm that can be displayed in the ARM GUI. Each alarm displayed generally includes the information shown in Table 1-1. Table 1-1: Information Generally Included in Each Alarm SNMP Trap OID SNMP Trap Name Alarm Type Alarm Source Alarm Textual description of the specific problem. Displayed from the variablebinding acarmtrapglobalstextual. NOTIFICATION-TYPE OID as it appears in the MIB. NOTIFICATION-TYPE Name as it appears in the MIB. Alarm type according to ITU X.733 definition. Displayed from the variable-binding acarmtrapglobalstype. Possible values of sources if applicable to a specific alarm. Displayed from the variable-binding acarmtrapglobalssource. Alarm probable cause according to ITU X.733 definition. Displayed from the variable-binding acarmtrapglobalsprobablecause. The level of the alarm's severity. Displayed from the variable-binding acarmtrapglobals. Additional information fields. Displayed from acarmtrapglobalsadditionalinfo1, acarmtrapglobalsadditionalinfo2 and acarmtrapglobalsadditionalinfo3. Possible corrective action when applicable. Version ARM

9 Alarms Guide 2. Alarms 2 Alarms This section describes the alarms that can be displayed in the ARM GUI. Table 2-1: Operation Status Changed [Node] The operative state of Node #elementname has changed to #status acarmoperationstatuschanged Operation Status Changed Communications Alarm ElementType#ElementName/SubElementType#SubElementName Communications Subsystem Failure The alarm will be cleared once the status will be changed back to available. When this alarm is received from a Node and it indicates that the operative state of the Node has changed to Unavailable: Check device network connectivity Check the device's network connectivity to the ARM Configurator When the alarm indicates that the operative state of the Node has changed to Logout: Check the configuration of the device's ARM service. When the alarm indicates that the operative state of the Node has changed to Unrouteable: Check the device's network connectivity to the ARM routers Check the routers' status and availability Version ARM
10 Alarms Table 2-2: Operation Status Changed [Peer Connection] The operative state of Peer Connection #elementname has changed to #status acarmoperationstatuschanged Operation Status Changed Communications Alarm ElementType#ElementName/SubElementType#SubElementName Communications Subsystem Failure The alarm will be cleared once the status will be changed back to available. When this alarm is received from a Peer Connection and it indicates that the operative state of the Peer Connection has changed to Unavailable: Check the configuration of the related IPGroup in the specific device. Check the device's network connectivity to the configured Proxy IP associated with that IP Group. When the alarm indicates that the operative state of the Peer Connection has changed to Predeleted: Check that the configuration of the IP Group coincides with those configured in the ARM Configurator. Pay special attention to IPGroup Name and to parameter 'Used By Routing Server'. Table 2-3: Operation Status Changed [Router] The operative state of Router #elementname has changed to #status acarmoperationstatuschanged Operation Status Changed Communications Alarm ElementType#ElementName/SubElementType#SubElementName Communications Subsystem Failure The alarm will be cleared once the status will be changed back to available. When this alarm is received from a Router and it indicates that the operative state of the Router has changed to Unavailable: Check the routers' status and availability. Alarms Table 2-4: Operation Status Changed [LDAP Server] The operative state of LDAP server #elementname has changed to #status acarmoperationstatuschanged Operation Status Changed Communications Alarm ElementType#ElementName/SubElementType#SubElementName Communications Subsystem Failure The alarm will be cleared once the status will be changed back to available. When this alarm is received from an LDAP server and it indicates that the operative state of the LDAP server has changed to Unavailable: Check the LDAP server's network connectivity. Validate its credentials. Table 2-5: Configuration Inconsistency A configuration inconsistency was found with #SubElementType #SubElementName associated with #elementtype #elementname acarmconfigurationinconsistency Configuration Inconsistency Processing Error Alarm ElementType#ElementName/SubElementType#SubElementName Configuration or Customization Error Indeterminate ARM database was synchronized to the nodes configuration #SubElementType can be Peer Connection or Routing Interface. Connect to the device (SBC, gateway, etc.) and correct the configuration. Take into account that this alarm can also be generated if the Peer Connection SIP interface is by accident removed - or the name of the SIP interface or IP Group related to the ARM network element is changed. 12 Alarms Table 2-6: Limit Reached The number of users has exceeded the maximum allowed number (250000) acarmlimitreached Limit reached Operational Violation Configurator/Users Threshold Crossed In the LDAP Server Settings page, use the 'Search filter' parameter to filter out unnecessary AD users from the ARM users table. See the User's Manual for more information. If you still face the same problem after optimizing using the search filter, contact your AudioCodes representative.
