1 Safety Briefing Summary Gargrave Site Systagenix address all aspects of wound management: assessment: protection; healing; and comfort Our products must be sterile and we therefore have a controlled manufacturing environment (CME) and radiation source on site. Site cleanliness is very important to us. As a visitor we ask that you help us maintain a clean and tidy site, even if you don t plan to visit the CME. Before you arrive Please pay particular attention to: Personal hygiene: washing the whole body reduces contamination and skin shedding Clothes: freshly laundered clothes contain fewer microorganisms; synthetic fabrics can help reduce skin shedding Make-up: is a potential source of contamination it must be removed before entering the CME Products such as hair spray, talcum powder, and perfumes can also contaminate our environment. Please don t use them. Jewellery: acts as a source of microorganisms you ll need to remove it before entering the CME so please reduce the amount you re wearing.

2 Finding the site The address is: Systagenix Gargrave North Yorkshire BD23 3RX Gatehouse: +44 (0) Upon Arrival Report to the Gatehouse and sign in. You need to provide: your name company visit sponsor photo id Your visit sponsor will come to collect you. Note, the visitor register is part of the fire register it needs to be accurate. Don t forget to sign out when you leave. Note, the gatehouse is operational 24x7. At night you may need to wait for security staff to arrive from the main buildings please wait at the gatehouse.

3 Finding Your Way Around The following schematic shows the layout of the site with walkways shown in green: Note the location of The Fire Assembly Points Smoking Shelter Gatehouse Please obey the speed limit at all times. The limit is either 5mph or 15mph depending on the location - pay attention to the signs.

4 Fire Alarm If you hear an intermittent alarm: be alert and prepared to leave the building check your immediate area for signs of emergency do not evacuate unless fire in your area or you are in danger or told to by a supervisor If you hear a continuous 2-tone fire alarm: leave the building immediately using the nearest exit go directly to the Gatehouse (staff will go to their allocated Fire Assembly Points) Radiation Alarm If the Radiation Alarm sounds: Case room/ Sterilizer/ DC/ Prod 1/ Quality/ security areas evacuate to Fire Assembly Point 2 (staff go to allocated Fire Assembly Point) Other areas: Call Security to contact a Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) Do not evacuate other areas unless instructed by the RPS Supervisors and Management must take advice from and support the RPS Evacuation Procedure When leaving the building: Switch off machinery Fork Lift Truck drivers dismount and switch off Leave by the nearest fire exit Close doors behind you Do not use lifts Don t run but go quickly to fire assembly point

5 General Site Rules Mobile Phones Stand still in a safe place when using a mobile Smoking The site is a no smoking area, with the exception of the provided smoking shelter (see site schematic). Hazards Delivery Lorries Forklift Trucks As a pedestrian you should always give priority to vehicle movements on site. Pay special attention to forklift trucks. They can be working in areas hidden from view - it's easy to overlook them Accidents and First Aid If you need first aid dial 7298 or 7311 for Security. There are trained first aiders on site, working across all three shifts.

6 Working on Site: Equipment Pay extra attention to safety signs. Always follow work procedures don t take short cuts. You will need to wear eye protection in designated areas. You will need to wear ear protection in designated areas. Working on Site: Asbestos and Own Supervision You will need to bring a method statements with you if you are working under your own supervision. Asbestos is present on site. Please consult our asbestos register if you are planning to work on buildings or infrastructure. Permit to work Permits to work can only be obtained from authorised personnel. Speak to your site contact. You will need a permit to work if you plan to: Work with or close to asbestos Perform roof work, hot work, or excavations Use a naked flame Use welding equipment Work on systems requiring double valve isolation Work inside tanks, vessels, or enclosed spaces Work in confined spaces Perform trenching work Work on chemical systems Use powered vehicles close to support columns If in doubt about your need for a permit, speak to your site contact.
