Adds steps to drill a hole in the cabin entrance door upper trim for the electrical wiring. NOTE: This revision replaces the original issue of in its entirety. 3 TITLE DOORS - CABIN ENTRY DOOR HANDLE POSITION SWITCH INSTALLATION EFFECTIVITY MODEL SERIAL NUMBERS 525 (CitationJet) thru (CJ1) thru (CJ1+) thru REASON The equivalent of this service bulletin has been incorporated on production airplanes and On. EASA requires an annunciation if the cabin entry door handle is not properly stowed. DESCRIPTION This service bulletin provides parts and instructions to add a switch, striker plate and associated wiring for the cabin entry door handle position annunciator. COMPLIANCE OPTIONAL. This service bulletin can be accomplished at the discretion of the owner. A service bulletin published by Cessna Aircraft Company may be recorded as completed in an aircraft log only when the following requirements are satisfied: 1) The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service bulletin, including the intent therein. 2) The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service bulletin kit. Only with written authorization from Cessna Aircraft Company can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be used to replace new parts. 3) The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service bulletin only as approved and published. 4) The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service bulletin only to aircraft serial numbers identified in the Effectivity section of the bulletin. 5) The mechanic or airplane owner must use maintenance practices that are identified as acceptable standard practices in the aviation industry and governmental regulations. No individual or corporate organization other than Cessna Aircraft Company is authorized to make or apply any changes to a Cessna-issued service bulletin, service letter, or flight manual supplement without prior written consent from Cessna Aircraft Company. Cessna Aircraft Company is not responsible for the quality of maintenance performed to comply with this document, unless the maintenance is accomplished at a Cessna-owned Citation Service Center. 5 ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS 1. Prepare the airplane for maintenance. A. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. B. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane. (1) Disconnect the airplane battery. (2) Disconnect external electrical power. C. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" writtenonthem. 2. Get access to the striker plate and wire bundles in the cabin door. A. Swing the inner door handle to the OPEN position to expose the striker plates. B. Remove and discard the current striker plate and the screws from the door frame. Keep all other attaching hardware. 3. (Refer to Figure 1, Sheets 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.) Modify the wiring as shown. NOTE: The wiring is secured to the door chain and both are wrapped with heat shrink tubing. At the fuselage end of the chain, the wire is routed into the left side fuselage and forward to the annunciator panel. A. Remove avionics components as necessary to get access to the wires. (Refer to the applicable sections of the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Navigation.) B. Remove interior from the cockpit as necessary to get access to the wire bundles. (Refer to the applicable sections of the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25, Equipment/Furnishings.) C. Attach the LMD5001P Relay Module to the wire bundle with S Tie Straps. NOTE: Put the relay module near the PI003 connector and attach it to the wire bundle with tie straps. 4. Install the B7070 Switch. A. Remove the cabin entrance door upper trim. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25, Headliner and Sidewall - Maintenance Practices.) B. (Refer to Figure 2, View B-B and View C-C.) Install two MS Grommets. (1) Measure and mark hole locations for two inch diameter holes as shown. (2) Drill the inch diameter holes in the channel and brace as shown. (3) Install the cabin entrance door upper trim. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25, Headliner and Sidewall - Maintenance Practices.) (4) Match drill one inch diameter hole in the cabin entrance door upper trim. (5) Remove the cabin entrance door upper trim. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25, Headliner and Sidewall - Maintenance Practices.) (6) Deburr the holes that were drilled. (7) Install the MS Grommets in the channel and brace. C. (Refer to Figure 2, View C-C.) Install one S Anchor. (1) Measure and mark a hole location for one Number 21 (0.159 inch diameter) hole on the brace. (2) Drill the Number 21 (0.159 inch diameter) hole in the brace. (3) Deburr the hole in the brace. (4) Attach the S Anchor to the brace with one S3899A5-5N Rivet. Revision 1 - Oct 2/2009 Page 3

6 D. Install the B7070 Switch as shown. (1) (Refer to Figure 2, Detail A and Detail B.) Drill one inch diameter through the shims, rub plate and the Trim Installation. (2) Deburr the hole. (3) (Refer to Figure 2, Detail A.) Install the B7070 Switch in the Striker Plate with the kept hardware. (4) Shim the switch as required using NAS620A416L Washers to make sure the switch activates by door handle trigger. (5) (Refer to Figure 2, Detail A.) Attach the Striker Plate to the door frame with two CM Screws. (6) Route the wires through the cabin entrance door upper trim, MS Grommets, and S Anchor. (7) Connect the electrical splices to the switch. E. Install the cabin entrance upper door trim. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25, Headliner and Sidewall - Maintenance Practices.) 5. Install the interior that was removed. (Refer to the applicable sections of the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25, Equipment Furnishings.) 6. Install any avionics components that were removed. (Refer to the applicable sections of the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Navigation.) 7. Restore electrical power to the airplane. 8. Do functional tests of any avionics components that were removed. (Refer to the applicable sections of the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Navigation.) 9. Do an operational test of the handle not stowed switch. A. (Airplanes thru -0558) Do a test of the switch. (1) Close the cabin door. (2) Make sure that the DOOR NOT LOCKED annunciator is on when the inner door handle is in thelockedposition. (3) Swing the inner door handle to the STOWED position. (4) Make sure the DOOR NOT LOCKED annunciator is off. (5) Swing the inner door handle to the OPEN position. (6) Make sure the DOOR NOT LOCKED annunciator on the annunciator panel illuminates. B. (Airplanes thru -0657) Do a test of the switch. (1) Close the cabin door. (2) Make sure that the CABIN DOOR annunciator is on when the inner door handle is in the locked position. (3) Swing the inner door handle to the STOWED position. (4) Make sure the CABIN DOOR annunciator is off. (5) Swing the inner door handle to the OPEN position. (6) Make sure the CABIN DOOR annunciator on the annunciator panel illuminates. 10. Remove the maintenance warning tags. Revision 1 - Oct 2/2009 Page 4

7 11. Make sure the flight crew receives the Flight Crew Operations Summary, which shows the operational changes that are a result of the accomplishment of this service bulletin. 12. Record that this service bulletin has been completed. A. Complete a Maintenance Transaction Report. B. Put a copy of the completed Maintenance Transaction Report in the airplane logbook. C. Send a copy of the completed Maintenance Transaction Report to: CESCOM, P.O. Box 7706, Wichita, KS MATERIAL INFORMATION Order the kit below to install this modification.
