We must excel in our customer service and, what is more, we must also contribute to improving society in the same way. To meet this ambitious responsibility we carry two banners: consistency and organization. We believe that architecture should exhibit the three Vitruvian qualities of firmitas, utilitas, venustas that is, it must be solid, useful, beautiful. But we can t forget one last attribute: MESURA; it must show honesty and moderation. Architecture should respect its context and the surroundings it is set in and it must learn from its heritage and from tradition. Our main aim is to create an utterly contemporary architecture that is committed to the responsible and sustainable use of natural resources. This architecture follows its own work process and methodology which deliberately prevents it from developing a fixed style or formalism. Each project is unique; and for each project we must focus on the unique society of our clients as a reference point. Armed with dedication, service, complicity and enthusiasm, we seek to provide solutions that are tailored to the initial needs and aspirations of our customers. Our way of working is defined by our ability to reinvent ourselves, to approach people and to seek new proposals contrasting ideas. We want to question ourselves on how to inhabit the city and on how architecture can act as a catalyzer of modern social relations. Our search for constant innovation has led us to open a new line of work: Mesura Think Tank. This has allowed us to build up the early stages of development, where architecture and engineering come together. The Mesura Think Tank allows us to obtain answers that are better suited to the needs of each client. The MESURA team ensures the quality of each project by paying special attention to the construction process. To ensure the proper execution of each project, MESURA relies on twenty architects and coworkers in its offices of Barcelona, Istanbul and Riyadh. 4 5

4 MESURA Partners in Architecture The Team Our team is led by the five Partners of MESURA. The company also works with a very diverse group of professionals which includes architects, industrial engineers, construction engineers, graphic designers, and also landscapers. All these professionals are constantly training to keep up with the state of the art techniques, which allow them to approach each project from a cutting edge outlook on constructive solutions, sustainability and new developments in order to respect the environment, while not forgetting the latest trends. Although the firm competes with big international companies, the compact nature of MESURA allows us to be directly in contact with our partners, offering the best service. We have a team dedicated to each project that is flexible to the needs of each client. Even if the firm is simultaneously working on multiple complex projects, there will always be a Partner to lead each one. Our firm is based in Barcelona (Spain), the city in which it was created and where its partners have their roots. Working in this city positively and actively influences our vision and provides the basis of our creative process and a model to follow. Although MESURA is a local company, it has an international goal. This is why the firm is present today in Croatia, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. The structure of MESURA is designed to maintain a constant flow of communication between the offices in these countries throughout the entire design process. The executive management team of MESURA is made up of its Partners and seasoned individuals called Associate Directors who are responsible for each of the four international delegations. Each of them has a great professional experience and fully shares the vision of MESURA. The Associate Directors are also directly responsible for the relationship with the customers in each country, as well as being responsible for supervising and leading the work of the local professionals from the beginning of the project until its conclusion. The design board meets regularly to monitor the progress of each project and to ensure that the quality and excellence are being maintained. These meetings also serve to enhance each of the projects with feedback from each other, and to learn from the insight and collective experience of the firm. The technical team includes project/ team managers, architectural assistants and specific consultants. In addition, the company relies on a valuable team offering administrative, financial, communication and design expertise. 6 7

6 MESURA Partners in Architecture How we Work Our work has led us to be involved in many projects for various uses. We have worked to build offices, stores, hotels, industrial and residential buildings we have also carried out many rehabilitation works and designed, town planning, etc. Our day to day work is driven by our commitment towards our customers. The mission is to create living spaces that are in harmony with their environment. We want to generate an intelligent architecture based on both criteria of sustainability and energy efficiency, as well as resource optimization during construction. One of the main features of MESURA is that is uses a model of GLOBAL ARCHITECTURE for carrying out all phases of the construction process: Design, Project, Organization and Construction Management. This model also covers ever step from consulting to planning, development and management of all different types of large and complex projects. In recent years we have strived to exercise a careful cost control and to delve into materials research. We strive to offer a quick response to the different needs of each individual company and we do our best to offer solutions by means of a direct, personalized and specialized treatment. We work hard to maintain precision and rigor and to respect deadlines. Our seasoned team generates all the technical and legal documents required for the contracting and construction of the project. The Technical Projects are a series of documents that are necessary to define in a precise, measurable and enforceable manner the work to be performed, in accordance with the objectives set out in the Preliminary Report. In the process of carrying out the construction project we develop all the necessary Technical Projects. We reach an agreement with the owners of the property and ratify the previous report to meet the legal requirements (licensing) and the technical definition to contract and build the project. In each phase of the project we are committed to developing the architecture and engineering of structures and facilities. At each stage of the project we strive to meet the requirements of the different compulsory regulations, as well as the technical and economic requirements and the agreed deadlines. We do our best to obtain a rigorous definition of customer requirements to allow us to contemplate a real objective, with a technical and economic feasibility definition established in an estimate. When creating the project the following phases are performed: Previous Study (PS)/Concept Design (CD), Draft (D), Basic Project, Project Activity, Project Execution (PE), P. Implementation:. Buildings and spaces are designed to improve the daily lives of the people that inhabit them and to respond to the broader needs and expectations of the communities where they are located. To achieve this, we are inspired by architectural influences from around the world that share the enthusiasm for emphasizing the value of the location and identity of each site. All projects share a respect for the place where they are located and the desire to understand the nature of these locations in depth. Each new building seeks a proper use of materials and sustainable building solutions that respect the environment; this concern is not only for nature, but also for the protection of the social and economic structures. The bedrock of our professional practice is research, based on the work of its Partners in the academia. Our partners often take part in conferences, juries and international competitions, always with the aim of promoting contemporary architecture rooted in the legacy and context, whatever the scale. MESURA would like to be seen and understood as an attitude model for future generations. We constantly take part in exhibitions, conferences, congresses and publish in the media. Research is a vital part of the company, since it defines the creative process upon which each of the projects is later based. Each project has its own rules when it come to design, and it is through research that a space for reflection (and internal debate) can be created, allowing us to connect the dots of these rules. It is precisely this philosophy that allows us to tackle complex projects with the confidence to be able to offer an up-to-date answer, as well as guaranties for its validity in the future. MESURA also has a strong presence in the academic world. This helps to improve our daily practice and keeps us in touch with the latest ideas and leading University professionals. Our Partners hold positions in the Head Office of the Escuela de Arquitectura de Barcelona (School of Architecture of Barcelona), in Advanced Master s degrees and currently teach in some of the most prestigious universities in USA and China

But before that, and among every other thing, it is an immense responsibility for both the architect and the client to both becoming relevant for the city and to changing people s life. It embraces a strong relation and influence with both the Authorities and the most important private clients.
