5 City of Paterson Covers 8.7 square miles of Passaic County Population of 145,219 according to 2012 US Census Density: 16,824 people per square mile Below Poverty Line: 25% of population Racially diverse city in New Jersey with 31% black or African American, 57% Hispanic or Latino, and 3% Asian Passaic River runs along the northern and eastern boundary
