APPLICATION: Manual Diesel Engine Control Unit is intended for alarm monitoring and manual control of diesel engine. Very often this is the engine of a diesel generating set. The control is manual via the keyboard on front panel. It includes the indispensable protections of engine such as: - overspeed, - too high temperature, - lubricating oil low pressure and - fuel low level - short circuit - generator overloaded Cat. 3. BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The Control Unit is housed in a box of DIN standard dimensions (72x144 mm) and is intended for being built in the panel or door of switch gear cabinet. It is supplied from the diesel-engine starting batteries or some other uninterruptable DC supply in range of 10-29 V DC. It is made in CMOS technology with microprocessor control and special attention is paid to safe operation, low consumption, wide supply voltage range and resistance to disturbances on the input - output terminals. ADA 1011 has RS 485 communication port with MODBUS protocol. Parameterisation of automatics is terminal. via PC and appropriate software or via hand 3.1. Inputs - information to ADA-1010 unit are: Input from speed sensor which can be: - tacho-generator (AC voltage), - passive pick-up (magnetic) and - active pick-up (inductive or capacitive). Contacts from usual sensors such us: - temperature switch - oil pressure switch - fuel oil low level switch - other possible contacts of alarm conditions 3.2. Outputs - from control unit are relay contacts for: - diesel engine start and stop - alarm siren - genset operating indication. - critical alarm - noncritical alarm 3.3. ALARM CONDITIONS are grouped in: Critical non-critical - which stop the engine and - which produce alarm but do not stop the engine operation. 3.4. CRITICAL ALARMS in standard version are: - overspeed, - engine high temperature, - lubrication oil low pressure 3.5. NON-CRITICAL ALARMS in standard version are: - fuel low level Cat. Beside these alarms, four more input channels could be used for alarms. Every alarm can be choosen as critical or non critical via communication (except overspeed wh ich is allways critical). Cooling water high temperature can have stop delay. 4. METHOD OF OPERATION: Engine starting is manual via the START key on front panel. Stopping can also be effected manually via STOP key but it is also automatic in case the critical alarms appear. When non-critical alarms appear the alarm siren is on but the engine is NOT stopped. The standard version is maximally adjusted to different versions of engines it will be used with but it is also possible to agree with customer / user on details of operation of automatics. The customer can request some non standard details e.g. specific values of time delays or similar. T.G.
