Petersime has brought this concept to the next level. The BioStreamer HD or High Density setters and hatchers are designed to further minimise the investment cost of your entire hatchery project. Single-stage incubators for maximum economic return Petersime s High Density solution is designed around setting the eggs in a honeycomb structured setter tray rather than the traditional matrix shaped version. The structure of this honeycomb tray allows setting 12% more eggs on the same surface while keeping the airflow between the eggs optimal. The benefits of this HD tray are numerous. As your incubators hold 12% more eggs while occupying the same footprint, you need to install fewer machines to achieve the total hatchery capacity you have in mind. As a result, your hatchery will be smaller and your land purchasing and construction costs reduced. On top of that, thanks to the honeycomb trays, egg transportation will be more compact and thus cheaper. For the BioStreamer HD to be able to cope with the increased capacity, Petersime has adapted some essential components: increased ventilation capacity increased heating and cooling power reinforced trolleys and tray turning systems These design changes guarantee the same results in terms of hatchability, chick uniformity, post-hatch performance and energy consumption per egg as those achieved with standard S-line incubators. The patented Embryo-Response Incubation sensors and algorithms are perfectly applicable on the BioStreamer HD setters and hatchers. 4 HD trays and baskets Petersime has developed compact trays and baskets of 84 eggs or chicks that are durable and ergonomic, and at the same time compatible with automation and washing equipment. Unique honeycomb setter trays Petersime s 84 egg HD setter tray has an increased egg density com - pared to standard setter trays. Its unique honeycomb structure allows setting 12% more eggs on the same surface, while maintaining an optimal airflow in the setter. Accommodating all egg sizes The HD tray pockets are designed to hold the large eggs produced by modern strains, while supports are provided to keep the smaller eggs in place. The honeycomb structure of the 84 egg HD setter tray allows setting 12% more eggs in an incubator of the same footprint. Compatible with automation Petersime s HD trays are compatible with today s automation systems. This implies that more eggs will be handled at the same time, significantly reducing your throughput time. 4

5 > Unprecedented ease of use For the HD concept, Petersime has opted for four compact, easy to handle 84 egg setter trays per trolley layer rather than two large and heavy trays. All four trays can be slid onto the tray holder from one side, making both automation and manual egg handling easier. Thanks to its reduced size and weight, a tray can also be held in one hand while manually collecting eggs. Four HD setter trays can be slid onto one trolley layer from one side of the trolley. The HD setter tray is compact and ergonomic. HD setter trays are suitable for manual egg collection. Stackable version Depending on the workflow of your hatchery, you can opt for a stackable version of the HD tray. These stackable trays can be transported from farm to hatchery on pallets. Universal chick baskets In the hatcher, Petersime s universal chick baskets hold 84 comfortable day-old chicks. This way, one setter tray can be transferred to one basket, helping you to achieve 100% traceability of your chicks. The chick basket can be used as a chick transportation box as well, eliminating the need of a separate washing lane in your hatchery. 6 HD trolleys Petersime has adapted its setter and hatcher trolleys to carry an extra load of 12%. The castors of both the HD setter trolleys and the HD hatcher trolleys are sturdier. Moreover, the hanging bars of the setter trolleys have been reinforced. Despite the extra weight, the trolleys are just as ergonomic and easy to manoeuvre. Although HD trolleys carry 12% more eggs or chicks, they can be rolled in and out of the incubators with minimum effort. Stronger castor Reinforced hanging bar 6

This ensures that despite the heavier load, the trolleys will still turn smoothly to the correct angle, without any damage to the developing embryos. Reinforced tray turning system 7

8 Adaptations for higher density Loading 12% extra eggs into an incubator of the same footprint results in higher demands in terms of cooling and heating. Petersime s BioStreamer HD setters and hatchers are de signed to cope, while their energy consumption is kept under control. Five large pulsator blades Increased ventilation capacity The pulsators on the BioStreamer HD are equipped with five large blades, which provide the necessary air velocity between the eggs. In addition, the upgraded ventilation exhausts installed on the roof allow for extra ventilation. Increased heating capacity The capacity of the heating elements has been upgraded. This guarantees a short warm-up time of all of the eggs at the beginning of the incubation cycle. Upgraded ventilation exhausts Powerful heating elements 8

9 Increased cooling power The cooling coils have an increased diameter, resulting in a larger total cooling surface. This way, the setter can easily cope with the 12% increase in heat production. Energy consumption under control Despite the increased cooling, heating, and ventilation power, the energy consumption per egg of the Bio- Streamer HD setters and hatchers is equal to that of the standard S-line incubators. All incubators are standard equipped with Petersime s Eco-Drive technology for variable speed control. Larger cooling coils 9

10 HD Embryo-Response Incubation sensors Petersime s highly successful Embryo-Response Incubation technology can be applied on the BioStreamer HD without any problems. Regardless of the 12% increase in eggs and chicks, the same improvements will be achieved in terms of hatchability, chick uniformity, and post-hatch performance. DWLS and OvoScan have been remodelled to be compatible with the new honeycomb trays. OvoScan HD The HD version of the OvoScan sensor also scans the egg shell temperature of 4 adjacent eggs, and it uses the same algorithms as the standard version. However, its shape has been adapted to fit in the honeycomb structure of the trays. The new egg shaped design takes only one egg position and is placed in a specific position indicated on the tray. Synchro-Hatch With 12% additional chicks to be hatched, a short hatch window is even more important. The Synchro-Hatch sensor can be easily attached to the smaller universal chick baskets in the BioStreamer HD hatchers. CO 2 NTROL The CO 2 NTROL sensors and algorithms of the S-line are suitable for BioStreamer HD setters and hatchers, providing sufficient fresh air and oxygen for all eggs and chicks at all times during incubation. DWLS HD Although the concept hasn t changed, Petersime has redesigned the Dynamic Weight Loss System so that a HD setter tray fits in. 10
