4 The global activity of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. The origin of the brand dates back to the last decade of the nineteenth century in Nagasaki, where the first big shipyard was established to produce ships for the Japanese navy. Shipbuilding is still one of the most important sectors for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Subsequently Mitsubishi implemented a progressive diversification and extension of its activity in heavy industry, as well as in the airplane, rail and car sectors, becoming the biggest private company in Japan in the 1930 s. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries still operates in the car sector through its subsidiary company Mitsubishi Motors. The anti-bacterial treatment of the fan, together with the united action of special filters help in neutralizing bacteria, viruses and allergens and keeping air in the room clean and safe. High efficiency DC PAM Inverter technology ensures the highest energy efficiency and the lowest power consumption. Compared to a constant speed system, the compressor output can ensure quick heating after the start up and attain a set temperature more quickly. Then the air-conditioner can slow down its compressor speed to save energy, keeping comfortable conditions. Comfort Sleep mode ensures comfort and well-being during the night: the room temperature is automatically controlled and decreased, so to balance the natural drop of the body temperature while sleeping. Today, for residential applications, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries also offers Hydrolution. This Air to Water Heat Pump is a complete modern system for heating, cooling and producing hot sanitary water for small houses, offering effective energy saving and reducing carbon dioxide emission. Hydrolution is safe and economical with integrated hot water heater, immersion heater, circulating pump and climate system within the indoor unit. 8 Residential and Light commercial Range The research laboratories of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries have always been committed to the study and application of new technologies, whose results are high quality products guaranteeing high efficiency in the full respect for the environment. High Efficiency The PAM DC Inverter system guarantees high energy efficiency thanks to its new motor with permanent magnets, which increases low pressure electrical efficiency thanks to the reduced interior attrition. The machine limits energy absorption when it is not necessary (e.g. whilst maintaining temperature) or increases its absorption when the desired climatic conditions need to be reached rapidly (e.g. during start up). Silicon-coated PCB The printed wiring board of the outdoor unit is coated by silicon, so that it can have a better tolerance for humidity and last longer (all SRC models). Inverter Control (Vector) The new inverter control applies the latest developments in vector control to attain high efficiency. Smooth operation from low to high speed. Smooth Sine Wave voltage is achieved. Improved energy efficiency even at low rotational speeds (except for SRK ZE-S1).

9 Shape grill The new radial shape grill has been developed in order to realize a natural air flow sent by the propeller fan along with it. The airflow is very smooth with the least air resistance and the decrease of the motor load leads to an improvement in the energy efficiency. New propeller fan Matching the new design of the propeller fan with the features of the fan motor led to keep the same capacity as that of previous models with lower electrical consumption. The synergy effect with the leaf shape grill provides an improvement of energy efficiency by 5% compared to previous models (SRC 40/50/60 ZIX-S models). Scroll compressor Scroll compressor helps in improving energy efficiency and in reducing vibrations and sound levels. Furthermore, the use of a neodymium magnet applied in the motor produces huge energy, thus reducing the energy loss occurred during the compression phase (SRC 40/50/60 ZIX-S models). Steel sheet Steel sheet is applied at the base of the outdoor units and can ensure a great steadiness to the anchor bolt. It is coated with ZAM, a coined name applied to hot-dipped zinc-aluminum-magnesium-alloy, having higher corrosion resistance properties compared to conventional materials. ZAM is a registered trademark of Nissin Steel Co., Ltd. HIGH COP: efficiency and energy saving High performance, maximum reliability and long life, silent operation and an elegant and sophisticated design: these are the main features of a high-grade air-conditioning system. 10 Ideal temperatures every day, accurate and modern design, quality of air, silent operation and energy saving are the elements Mitsubishi Heavy Industries offers to achieve the desired well-being. Jet Air Scroll CFD (Computational fluids dynamics) technology, used in the blade shape design of jet engines, has been applied to air-conditioning, to develop air channels with an optimal air circulation system. The air flow obtained thanks to this system enables the diffusion of a large volume of air, with extremely low energy consumption, as there is a marked reduction in the stagnation of collected air flow, thus reducing energy waste appreciably. The air flow is then uniform, silent, and can reach long distances, i.e., perfect for large airconditioned areas. 11 Three-dimensional ventilation The innovative 3D Ventilation system of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries characterizes all wall-mounted models (except for HG-S). This system can be selected both in manual and automatic mode, enabling a better distribution and de-stratification of treated air, in the air-conditioned area. In manual mode, thanks to the 2 dedicated buttons on the remote control, 7 different settings can be selected, for horizontal and vertical flow, besides SWING mode (continuous motion of the louvers). Horizontal positions Three-dimensional ventilation: AUTO mode The 3D Auto system is a programmable mode, thanks to one only key on the remote control: 3 motors one for horizontal movement and 2 for vertical movement allow you to have 3 independent air flow controls. Air flow is uniform, silent and can reach long distances from the indoor unit. Air flow, in the air-conditioned room, is uniformly sent, on the basis of the programmed 3D ventilation automatic mode (ZJ-S, ZJX-S models). Vertical movement Selection and setting by IR controller By using the IR controller it is possible to select (air flow, up/down) and set (3D auto) air scroll and direction swing (ZJ-S, ZJX-S models; SRK 71 ZE-S1 just has the manual setting). New size and shape of the louver The redesigned size and shape of the new louver improves 3D air flow. 12 Anti-allergenic filter The new anti-allergenic filter, mounted on every model of the DC Inverter Monosplit Smart line, is a unique brand-new feature, resulting from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries research, and which is in a position to neutralize the action of pollen, mite, bacteria and many other allergens which can be found in the air. Neutralization capacity is given by the combined action of urea and natural enzymes: treated air is free from impurities, and your health is protected. The self-cleaning function of this filter can be selected by pressing the ALLERGEN CLEAR button. Anti-bacterial fan treatment The plastic component of the fan s blades is made of anti-bacterial material, so to better resist against moulds and germs proliferation. All models of the Ultra DC Inverter Flex and Hyper DC Inverter lines feature this application. Natural enzyme filter From the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries laboratories, another revolutionary product for air purification: the natural sterilizing enzyme filter, which, unlike traditional filters, does not possess any chemical compounds or heavy metals.the enzymes action is localized, without any risk of materials being irradiated or dispersed in the environment. The enzymes attack the micro-organisms that are in the air, and that can cause many pathologies transmitted through the air, by trapping them into the filter and destroying them. Photocatalytic filter The photocatalytic filter keeps air clean and pleasant, thanks to its double action: filtering and deodorizing. The filter is self-regenerating, simply washing it in water and then letting it dry in the sunlight.

13 Self Clean function: automatic sanitization against moulds Thanks to the self- regenerating function, all components of indoor units are submitted to an automatic sanitization process, stopping mould proliferation and getting rid of the rank smell they produce. This function can be selected by pressing the clean switch on the remote control, and starts at the end of the machine s operating cycle. The operation can last 2 hours max., but it can be nevertheless interrupted, by pressing the on/off key on the remote control. Normal operation Automatic switch-off Allergen Clear System: sanitization against allergens This is another exclusive feature of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, in a position to neutralize the effects of the pathogen agents that lay on the surface of the allergenic filter. The filter can be cleaned by pressing the allergen button, on the remote control. The operation can last about 1h 30, and then automatically stops. The monosplit in the Ultra DC Inverter Flex, Hyper DC Inverter, DC Inverter Plus, Flat DC Inverter and Constant Speed ranges, mostly in Energy Class A/A, provide a personalized response to any need for residential comfort. Class COP > 5,00 Compact, stylish and practical with regards to application needs in residential, high residential and light commercial, environments, the air conditioners in the Ultra DC Inverter Flex range guarantee high energy performance, application flexibility and energy savings. The units in this range - wallmounted, console, cassette 60x60 and duct low static pressure - can be freely combined with SCM units within the Multi DC Inverter Hyper system. The Multi DC Inverter Hyper and Multi DC Inverter Comfort ranges are characterized by a wide range of indoor units that can provide an adequate response to all the demands of comfort and well-being. Class COP > 4,50 The Multi DC Inverter Hyper range is an innovative multisplit system by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries designed to ensure full comfort and installation versatility, throughout the year. Hydrolution uses natural energy: the FDCW unit extracts heat from outside air and conveys it inside the home to be air-conditioned. The transition of natural energy to the indoor unit occurs through the coolant circulating in a closed system of refrigeration pipes. The HM270V indoor unit heats the water that circulates, respectively: in the radiators, fan coils and in the underfloor heating systems; at the same time it constitutes a reservoir of water which, thanks to the help of a heat exchanger built into the unit, ensures the production of hot running water.

76 Total heat recovery units SAF During heating operation in winter time the unit recovers part of the heat energy which would otherwise be exhausted to atmosphere, and uses this energy to warm the air entering the building. During cooling operation in summer time the exchange is more effective in warmer climates, where the exhausted cool air is used to partially cool the incoming air. 88 Superlink II Superlink-II is an advanced high speed data transmission network that can connect and control up to 128 indoor units. It is a comprehensive control and management system, capable of meeting the demands of building owners and occupiers in large or small applications. The Superlink II control system is inexpensive to install utilising two wire non-polar cable for the complete network. MICRO KX System I.U. Multi-KX6 KX6-KXR6 System KX6-KXR6 System I.U. Multi-KX6 In case of integrated installation of Residential indoor units (SKM/STM/ SRRM ZG-S, SRK ZG-S, SRK ZE-S1), it is required to set all units on Superlink I protocol, to use the interfaces for 3-wires networks SC-BIK1-E and SC-AD-ER and to control the units by RC-E1R wired control. 89 Superlink II - controls Central controller SC-SL 1N-E central controller is connected to the Superlink II network via 2-core non-polar wires. It monitors and controls the on/off function of up to 16 indoor units. The unit numbers in operation or in need of service are indicated by specific LED s. Up to 12 SC-SL1N-E central controllers can be installed with a Superlink II network, controlling a total of up to 128 indoor units. Central controller SC-SL3NA-AE/BE is a full colour touch screen central control with 7 inch interactive display. The central control panel provides control, monitoring, service and maintenance functions for all indoor units connected to the Superlink II network. SC-SL3NA-BE offers an electrical power consumption calculation function for each indoor unit or group. It offers the possibility of exporting the data to a USB memory stick and editing and organising this data in an Excel spreadsheet. The necessary software is supplied with the central control panel. Central controller SC-SL2NA-E central controller is connected to the Superlink II network via 2-core non-polar wires. It monitors and controls the on/off function of up to 16 indoor units, or 16 groups of units, for central control of up to 64 units. It also monitors and controls the following functions for each unit, group of units, or the complete network: operation mode, temperature set point, louvre position, error code. The LCD display shows the unit or group numbers in operation and identifies those in need of service. The timer is connected to the central controller for on/off cycle control. The central controller can be connected at any point in the Superlink II network, at the indoor or outdoor units. This can substantially reduce the amount of electrical cabling required for the installation. Web gateway SC-WGWNA-A/SC-WGWNA-B This central control provides a simple management system for small and medium installations, including electrical power consumption data, and can be utilised for the control of up to 128 indoor units in up to 96 groups (64 indoor units x 2 Superlink II networks). Secure and simple to install, all that is required is Internet Explorer. An IP address filter function is included, together with three-level user authentication for security. SC-WGWNA-B offers an electrical power consumption calculation function for each indoor unit or group.

90 Superlink II - controls BACnet gateway SC-BGWNA-A/SC-BGWNA-B This interface device operates on the BACnet protocol for the central control of the air conditioning system on a BACnet network. It can be used for the interfacing of up to 128 indoor units in up to 96 groups (64 indoor units x 2 Superlink II networks). SC-BGWNA-B offers an electrical power consumption calculation function for each indoor unit or group. SC-ADNA-E interface This interface enables the connection of the Superlink II network to oudoor units, so to be in a position to manage them via a SC-SL2N-E device and other centralized controls. Functions: transmission of information of Superlink II bus data with addressing of the connected indoor units; possibility of blocking the adjustment of the single indoor units from centralized control (remote); transmission of any error message relevant to the indoor units connected to Superlink II, displaying error code. In case of integrated installation of Residential indoor units (SKM/ STM/SRRM ZG-S, SRK ZG-S, SRK ZE-S1), it is required to set all units on Superlink I protocol, to use the interfaces for 3-wires networks SC-BIK1-E and SC-AD-ER and to control the units by RC-E1R wired control. Optional KIT SC-BIKN-E LonWorks gateway SC-LGWNA-A This interface device allows the interfacing, monitoring, and control of the MHI indoor units on a LonWorks network, by converting the Superlink II communication data to the LonWorks protocol. It can be used for the control and monitoring of up to 96 indoor units, which is the highest number of units for a LonWorks system interface device available on the market. SC-LGWNA-A This interface can create a 2-wires, X,Y, network on wall-mounted units, enabling their control thanks to RC-E4 wired controller. Moreover, using SC-ADNA-E interface, directly connected to SC-BIKN-E, you can have a Superlink II network and centralize the control of the wall-mounted units using remote controls, for all functions. The interface is in a box (120X135x29 mm) and can be clamped to the wall. The interface is also equipped with a CnT connector, so that wallmounted units can exchange digital input/output with an external control system.
