During the pre-thinning, the outgoing air from the pen will be added to unloaded external air. This is possible with external energy through a second ventilator. However, this can also be done by using the effects of low pressure through accelerating the outgoing air before its backflow into the environment. VENTILATION SYSTEMS 39

The effectiveness of a source of emissions begins outside during this time. The outgoing air marks the volume flow of air, which dissipates out of the system. If it is blown through the exit pipe untouched, then there is no difference between the discharged air and the outgoing air. A pre-thinning of the outgoing air concentration can be achieved by mixing it with fresh air, in which, for example, air is sucked from without through slots in the exit pipe, like in the water jet pump principle. The amount of odour emitted remains the same, but the source concentration is reduced; a condition which isn t covered by propagation calculations from Gauss and simple particle models. In Short: If it is only about thinning effects of odour emissions, the approach described represents an effective and quiet solution, which can also be used during retrospective construction.
