5 Dehumidification unit with air recirculating and heat pump function Type CAU Functional description of the unit The DencoHappel CAU is mainly designed for private swimming pools and can be delivered in 4 sizes. The unit operates to dehumidify and heat air in swimming pools in a recirculating-air mode. The unit is fitted with a full electronic control system that automatically regulates system functions. Operation mode with dehumidification demand In recirculating-air mode without dehumidification the air is recirculated in the swimming pool. The multifunction humidity switch is installed in the swimming pool and activates the unit in dehumidification mode as soon as the humidity setpoint has been exceeded. At this point the fan is switched into speed 2 and the refrigeration circuit is activated. The dehumidification process continues until the humidity setpoint is reached. Subsequently the fan is switched into speed 1 and the circuit compressor is stopped. Using an optional pool water condenser a certain amount of excess energy produced by the heat pump cycle can be fed back into swimming pool water or similar circuit system. Supply air fan runs at high speed. The necessary transmission heat is supplied by the reheater coil. 7 Control and regulation system The control cabinet is supplied with the following main components: Dehumidification unit with air recirculating and heat pump function Type CAU Consists of a separate control cabinet for mounting on units with all necessary components for control functions, wired according to VDE specifications. 9 Option Option H Option H Dehumidification Unit with Air ixing and Heat Pump Function Type CU Functional description of the unit The DencoHappel CU is designed for private and small public swimming pools with short-term utilization time. The unit features short overall length and a highly-efficient heat pump. Sample selection of operating modes: The series is available in 6 sizes. The unit operates to dehumidify and heat air in swimming pools in a mixed air mode. The unit is delivered with a DDC controls which regulates all functions of the system on a fully automated basis. When in stand-by mode without dehumidification the air is recirculated in the swimming pool. When the humidity setpoint has been exceeded the unit switches into dehumidification mode. At this point the supply-air fan is operated at nominal air flow and the extract-air fan maintains the proper air movement. The refrigeration unit is activated in order to start dehumidification. Using the bypass damper a certain part of return air is mixed without further treatment with dehumidified air that has passed through the refrigeration cycle. The dehumidification stage continues until the actual humidity value lies below that of the humidity setpoint. Then the refrigeration unit is deactivated. When in active hours swimming pool mode the fresh and exhaust air dampers are opened, the bypass damper is closed. Then the refrigeration unit is activated. In the event of overheated swimming pool the refrigeration system is deactivated. Using an optional pool water condenser a certain amount of excess energy produced by the refrigeration cycle can be fed back into swimming pool water. The unit operates for ventilation and dehumidification in air mixing or only outdoor/exhaust air mode. The fans run at high speed. In case an optional bypass is used - heat recovery is not employed thanks to a damper system. If the swimming pool is overheated during the night time or idle period the unit ventilates only in outdoor/exhaust air mode. The dehumidifier operates using outside air and a heat pump. At the same the unit is performed in a compact and variable configuration. The series can be supplied with air volume capacity between 750 up to 45,000 m³/h. The unit's function is to dehumidify and heat air in swimming pools in mixed air mode. Besides a refrigeration unit (heat pump) this unit type is additionally equipped with an efficient heat recovery system. The unit is delivered with a DDC controls which automatically and efficiently regulates all functions. When in stand-by mode without dehumidification the air is recirculated in the swimming pool. When the humidity setpoint has been exceeded the unit switches into dehumidification mode. At this point the supply-air fan is operated at nominal air flow and the extract-air fan maintains the proper air movement. The refrigeration unit is activated in order to start dehumidification. Using the bypass damper a part of return air is mixed with air dehumidified through the refrigeration unit. The dehumidification stage continues until the actual humidity value lies below that of the humidity setpoint. Then the refrigeration unit is deactivated. In the pool mode outside air and extract air dampers are opened to ensure a pre-set minimum rate for outside air for hygienic reasons, the opening of the mixing-air damper is reduced accordingly. Depending on the swimming pool humidity the outside air rate is regulated automatically. In the event of overheated swimming pool the refrigeration unit is deactivated and the bypass dampers are opened to divert the heat recovery system. Using an optional pool water condenser a certain amount of excess energy produced by the refrigeration cycle can be fed back into swimming pool water. The unit uses outside air to dehumidify and features compact and variable construction system. Sample selection of operating modes: The series can be supplied with air volume capacity between 750 up to 45,000 m³/h. The unit's function is to dehumidify and heat air in swimming pools in mixed air mode. This unit type is additionally equipped with an efficient heat recovery system. The unit is delivered with a DDC controls which automatically and efficiently regulates all functions. When in stand-by mode without dehumidification the air is recirculated in the swimming pool. 50 Dehumidification Unit with Air ixing Function Type CAT Functional description of the unit The DencoHappel icro CAT is designed for private and small public swimming pools in hotels, therapy and teaching pools with large surfaces and stable air conditions. Sample selection of operating modes: This unit series is available in 5 unit sizes and can deliver air flow rate from 800 up to 6,500 m³/h. The unit's function is to dehumidify and heat air in swimming pools in mixed air mode. The unit is delivered with a DDC controls which regulates all functions of the system on a fully automated basis. This unit type is fitted with EC fans, a highly-efficient heat recovery facility and a heat-pump cycle. The heat-pump cycle automatically dehumidifies in recirculating air mode during idle period and provides hygienic minimum fresh air rate in active pool mode. When the humidity setpoint is exceeded in the idle mode the unit is activated to enable dehumidification. For this purpose the refrigeration unit is activated. The dehumidification stage continues until the actual humidity value lies below that of the humidity setpoint. When in active hours pool mode the fresh and extract air dampers are opened, the bypass damper is closed. The refrigeration unit is activated in order to start dehumidification. Depending on the humidity, fresh air dampers are actuated to reach a 100% fresh air rate. In both modes, idle and active pool modes, the excess thermal energy is supplied to the pool air. Thus a significant load is taken off the the stationary heating plant. Using an optional pool water condenser a certain amount of recovered excess energy can be fed back into pool water or buffer tank.
