2 SECTION NINE - ROO ARRANGEENT 9.1 Racks will be made in the military fashion with hospital corners, and a 6" white collar 18" from the head of the bed. 9.2 If the blanket has the lette rs "U. S." on it, they will not be visible. 9.3 The dust cover blanket will be folded in half, end t o end. The sides are then folded up so that the blanket matches the width of the ma ttress. It is then folded in thirds towa rds the end of the bed. The "e" should be visible from the cente r of the room. 9.4 Pillows will be as boxed as possible. 9.5 The rack nearest the door will have the foot of the bed closer to the door. Each successive rack will be alternated. 9.6 All furniture will be 6" from the wall. Racks will be measured from the bedposts Towel will be folded 8" wide and hung evenly over the end of the rack frame, 3" from the bedpost closest to the center of the room. 9.8 Washcloth will be hung on the same bar, 3" from the bedpost furthest from the center of the room. 9.9 Laundry bags will be hung from the bedpost furthest from the cente r of the room Wastepaper baske t will be placed under the desk, and centered. It will be empty for inspections Chairs will be flush against the desk, centered over wastepaper basket. 9.lLamp on desk will be turned off, unplugged, with the cord furled and tied securely, and left to hang behind the desk Desk drawers will be empty Windows will be fully shut for inspections; venetian blinds will be down and shut, convex side showing. SECTION TEN - WALL LOCKER ARRANGEENT 10.1 Arrangement of headgear and clothing will be identical for both wall lockers in a room. (Dotted lines on drawing indicate sliding doors. ) 10.2 Doors will be open with access to drawers All items hung in the l ocker will be clean and ironed as appropriate angers will be evenly s paced on the bar on the open (center) side of locker, over chest of drawers.

3 10.5 Clothing will be disrlyed, left to right, as follows : /1549 combination 2. Utilities 3. Sweater/AF windbreaker/flight jacket 4. Civilian clothes 5. Raincoat 10.6 Trousers will be hung with the top to the left, fly facing out, and even Skirts will be hung from the waist, left side out All shirts, blouses, jackets, etc., will face to the left (i.e., with the wing patch facing out) All buttons, zippers, and s naps will be secured and fastened (as worn) when on hangers Covers will be placed on the top shelf of the locker as follows: 1. Male flight caps will be placed standing up, flush with the front edge of the shelf, left side facing front, with the front edge of the cap itself centered on the far left hanger. 2. Female berets will be placed with the hat device facing out, and the edge even with the far left hanger. 3. Utility caps will be placed with the bill flush with the edge of the shelf, facing forwrd, centered on the right hanger Ironing boards will be placed standing up against the wall inside the locker as shown in the drawing. SECTION ELEVEN - DRAWERS 11.1 Top drawer, male display (see drawing) 1. All items will be flush agains t the edge of the drawer. 2. Athletic trunks will be folded in fourths. Swim trunks will be put under PT shorts folded in the same manner. 3. T-shirts will be rolled 10" long, lip to left. 4. Shorts will be rolled 6" long, lip to left. 5. Web belt will be rolled counter-clockwise with the buckle facing rear of drawer in center of roll. 6. andkerchief will be folded in fourths, single fold to rear, double fold to left. 7. Boot socks will be rolled, smile facing up. 8. Dress socks will be rolled, smile facing up Top drawer, female display 1. Athletic shorts will be folded in fourths.

4 2. T-shirts will be rolled 10" long, lip to left. 3. Underwear will be rolled 4" long, lip to left. 4. Bras will be folded in half, with straps rolled into cups. s. Slips will be folded in fourths. 6. Nylons will be rolled. 7. Socks and boot socks will be rolled, smile facing up. 8. Web belt will be rolled counter-clockwise with the buckle facing rear of drawer in center of roll. 1 j Middle drawer 11.4 Bottom drawer 1. Towels will be folded to 10" and rolled, lip to left. 2. Washcloths will be folded in fourths, single fold to rear, double fol d to left. 3. Insignia will be packed neatly on cardboard backing. 4. Shoe shine rag will be folded in fourths, single fold to rear, double fold to left; polish can will be centered on shine rag. s. Iron will be placed with its base flush against the left front corner of drawer, with cord furled and tied as shown. 6. Toilet articles will be evenly spaced and flush against front edge of drawer as shown in the drawings. 1. Will contain spray starch, notebooks, pens, and other miscellaneous items, and will be neat. SECTION TWELVE - FOOT GEAR The appropriate order for foot gear is as follows: 1. Dress shoes 2. Boots 3. Athletic shoes 4. Civilian shoes S. Shower clogs/slippers, Shoes will be. placed in order under racks, toes out, with toes even with the edge of the rack. Shoes will start from the locker end of the rack, facing the center of 1 the room. A center (third) rack in a room will have shoes facing the wall nearest the door. Spaces will not be left for shoes currently being I' worn. (i. e., Shoes will be groundeo the end of the rack, and to each. other.) Laces will be tied, except at night, when boots will be unlaced.
