2 GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE All orders are subject to acceptance by the factory. No liability shall be incurred by Mestek Canada if manufacture or delivery is prevented or delayed by strikes, fi res, delays of carriers or other delays unavoidable or beyond its reasonable control or by inability to obtain materials. Prices quoted herein supersede all prior price lists and are subject to change without notice. Prices are TAXES EXTRA, any taxes which may be payable on the manufacture, sale or delivery of the merchandise covered by this price book will be billed to the buyer. An order for items which total less than $25.00 will be shown on the invoice at $25.00 minimum. PAYMENT: Terms are net 30. A fi nance charge of 1-1/2% per month shall be imposed for indebtedness for which payment is not received within 30 days. In the event Buyer does not pay within the terms of this agreement, all collection costs incurred by Manufacturer, including attorney and court costs, will be paid by Buyer. FREIGHT TERMS: Prices quoted herein are F.O.B. our Mississauga plant. Freight will be allowed as follows: Full freight allowed on single shipments of 40,000 lbs. or more. Freight not allowed on shipments under 40,000 lbs. Shipping weights supplied in the price book are approximate, for buyer s convenience only, and are not guaranteed. We reserve the choice of transportation facilities and shipping point. DELIVERY: Delivery to the initial carrier shall constitute delivery to the buyer. The seller s responsibility ceases upon delivery in good order to such carrier, and all merchandise is shipped at the buyer s risk. The buyer is urged to examine all deliveries before signing transportation receipts. If merchandise is visibly damaged, the buyer should insist that written confi rmation of the damage be noted on the freight bill by the agent of the carrier. If damage is discovered after unpacking, the carrier should be notifi ed at once so that inspection can be made and the claimed damage substantiated by the carrier. RETURN MATERIAL POLICY: No material, whether new, used or alleged defective, may be returned without prior written authorization from the company. New and used equipment of current manufacture may be returned, freight prepaid after written authorization has been received. In such cases, credit will be allowed, less 25% handling and/or inspection charges if the equipment is received free of shipping or other damage. When a defect occurs in the heat exchanger unit only, the complete boiler will not be accepted for return. Material arriving at Mestek Canada plants not properly tagged will be refused. PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING AUTHORIZATION TO RETURN MATERIAL: The customer or Representative will request an Authorization to Return Material tag. A separate tag will be issued for each item returned. All information requested on the tag must be supplied, if applicable, in order that the request may be processed promptly. The original tag will be torn off and retained by the customer for his records. The remaining two copies will be returned to the factory, along with the returned material. WARRANTY CLAIMS: Claims made under warranty on equipment thereof manufacture by Mestek Canada after the warranty has expired will be considered on the basis of 6 month shelf time prior to the date of installation. Claims made on equipment of parts thereof manufactured by Mestek Canada after this time frame will only be considered after claimant furnishes notarized bill of sales showing that the date of installation was within the warranty period. LABOUR CLAIMS AND ALLOWANCES: As specifi ed in the limited warranty, no labour allowances will be made for the replacement of warranty materials claimed defective. 3 EXPLANATION OF RATINGS BOILERS RATING CSA INPUT Firing rate in BTU/hr. for atmospheric gas boilers based on CSA certifi cation test procedures. AHRI Input Firing rate in gallons per hour of oil or BTU/hr. of gas in accordance with Hydronics Institute test procedures. DOE Heating Capacity Heat output of the boiler based on standard test procedures prescribed by the United States Department of Energy. Applies to boilers under 300,000 BTU/hr. input. CSA Gross Output Heat output of the boiler based on tests conducted at the CSA Laboratory. Applies to atmospheric gas boilers with inputs of 300,000 BTU/hr. and over. AHRI Gross Output Heat output of the boiler based on tests conducted in accordance with Hydronics Institute procedures. Applies to oil, gas and gas-oil boilers with power burners when input is 300,000 BTU/hr. and over. NET AHRI Ratings The DOE heating capacity, CSA gross output, or AHRI gross output less deductions for piping and pickup. The amount of the deduction is determined by the AHRI Testing and Rating Code for Heating Boilers. Certified Ratings Ratings when boiler is fi red with special burners and/or under fi ring conditions other than stipulated by the AHRI code. SELECTING THE BOILER Boilers should be selected based on the Net AHRI rating when piping and pickup factors are considered normal. Net AHRI ratings are shown in BTU/hr. for water and steam and in square feet of steam. To select residential boilers for gravity hot water systems, fl oor panel systems, hot water or steam systems with larger than normal piping and pickup factors, and replacement boilers on hot water or steam systems with old style radiation and large piping, see chart below for piping pickup factors. ASME CONSTRUCTION All Advanced Thermal Hydronics boilers meet the requirements of the ASME boiler and pressure Vessel Code, Section IV, Heating Boilers. Every HeatNet bridge comes from the factory with the default address settings (shown in parenthesis) listed in section 2. The bridge can be programmed in the field by following instructions, which can be downloaded, from the product web sites and This requires some computer and networking experience. The bridges can also be programmed at the factory by filling out the information in section 2 of this worksheet. 1. Factory programming (of domain, subnet, and node) should only be needed under very special circumstances. Domain: Subnet: Node: 2 Passive members do not respond to BACnet who is messages and thus cannot be automatically discovered. 3 Available on version 2+ BACnet bridges. A HeatNet Master-Member system (network) can contain up to 16 boilers. The HeatNet N2 Bridge is normally attached to the master and can provide most data points that the master periodically reads from each member. Per the N2 specification; baud=9600, data bits=8, stop bits=1, and parity=none. The N2 protocol is limited to 255 data points of each type. For this reason, the HeatNet N2 Bridge is configured to act like 16 different N2 devices. Each device represents a different boiler. The Master/Standalone boiler must always be enabled, but in order to conserve N2 addresses members must be specifically enabled. 10 KN Series Water Boiler Limited Warranty One-Year Warranty The Manufacturer warrants to the original owner at the original installation site that the KN-Series modulating water boiler ( Product ) will be free from defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of installation or eighteen (18) months from the date of shipment from the factory whichever comes fi rst. If upon examination by the manufacturer the product is shown to have a defect in material or workmanship during the warranty period, the manufacturer will repair or replace, at its option that part of the product, which is shown to be defective. Ten-Year Warranty The manufacturer further warrants to the original owner at the original installation site that the products Heat Exchanger (Cast Iron Block) will be free from defects from condensate corrosion and in material and workmanship for a period of ten (10) years (non prorated) from the date of shipment from the factory. If upon examination by the manufacturer the product is shown to have a defect in material or workmanship during the warranty period, the manufacturer will repair or replace, at its option the Heat Exchanger of the product, which is shown to be defective. Twenty-One Year Thermal Shock Warranty The manufacturer further warrants to the original owner at the original installation site that the products (Cast Iron Sections) will be warranted for twenty-one (21) years against thermal shock when the boiler is installed as a closed loop hot water boiler. This warranty will cover damage due to thermal shock, such as leaks to the cast iron sections from cracks from thermal shock. This warranty does not cover damage due to corrosion, scaling, sooting or to improper installation or operation the inlet and outlet water temperature differential across the boiler cannot exceed 100 degrees F. Water quality is important. As per ASME recommendations, dissolved solids must be less than 200 ppm. Also, ph levels must be in the range. Failure to follow these guidelines will void the warranty. This Limited Warranty does not Apply: (a) If the product has been subjected to misuse or neglect, has been accidentally or intentionally damaged, has not been installed, maintained or operated in accordance with the furnished written instructions, or has been altered or modifi ed in anyway by any unauthorized person. (b) To any expenses, including labor or material, incurred during the removal or reinstallation of the product or parts thereof. (c) To products which were not installed and or serviced by a qualifi ed contractor and or serviceman. (d) To burners, jackets, controls and other auxiliary equipment furnished by the manufacturer, but manufacturerd by others. Any warranties for such items shall be limited to those warranties offered by the original equipment manufacturer. (e) To any workmanship by any installer of the product. This limited Warranty is Conditional Upon: (a) Shipment, to the manufacturer, of that part of the product thought to be defective. Goods may only be returned with prior written approval of the manufacturer. All returns must be freight prepaid. (b) Determination in the reasonable opinion of the manufacturer that there exists a defect in material or workmanship. Repair or replacement of any part under this Limited warranty shall not extend the duration of the warranty with respect to such repaired or replaced part beyond the stated warranty period. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, AND ALL SUCH OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE HEREBY DISCLAIMED AND EXCLUDED FROM THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE MANUFACTURER BE LIABLE IN ANY WAY FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE WHATSOEVER, OR FOR ANY AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF THE SELLING PRICE OF THE PRODUCT OR ANY PARTS THEREOF FOUND TO BE DEFECTIVE. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY GIVES THE OWNER AT THE ORIGINAL INSTALLATION SITE SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS. YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS, WHICH MAY VARY BY EACH JURISDICTION. 10

11 LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY Residential Cast Iron Water Boilers First Through Tenth Year The Manufacturer warrants to the original owner at the original installation site that the cast iron sections of the Residential Cast Iron Water Boilers (the Product ) will be free from defects in material or workmanship for ten (10) years from the date of installation. If upon examination by the Manufacturer the Product is shown to have a defect in material or workmanship during the warranty period, the Manufacturer will repair or replace, at its option, that part of the Product which is shown to be defective. Eleventh Year and Above The Manufacturer warrants that the cast iron sections of its residential cast iron water boilers will remain free of defects in material or workmanship under normal usage for the lifetime of the original owner at the original installation site. Should any sections be found to be defective, the Manufacturer will repair or replace, at its option, the original cast iron sections upon the payment of a proportionate charge based on the time the defective section was in service. The proportionate charge will be equal to the appropriate percentage of the trade price of the section at the time the warranty claim is made, determined as follows: Year & Above % of Trade Price This limited warranty does not apply: (a) if the Product has been subjected to misuse or neglect, has been accidentally or intentionally damaged, has not been installed, maintained or operated in accordance with the furnished written instructions, or has been altered or modifi ed in any way. (b) to any expenses, including labor or material, incurred during removal or reinstallation of the Product or parts thereof. (c) to any other cast iron parts of the boiler. (d) to burners, jackets, controls, and other auxiliary equipment furnished by the Manufacturer, but manufactured by others. Any warranties for such items shall be limited to those warranties offered by the original equipment manufacturer. (e) to damage as a result of settlement, distortion, collapse, or cracking of any foundation area, beams or pipes surrounding the Product. (f) to any workmanship of any installer of the Product; or to Products installed outside the continental United States or Canada. This limited warranty is conditional upon: (a) shipment, to the Manufacturer, of that part of the Product thought to be defective. Goods can only be returned with prior written approval from the Manufacturer. All returns must be freight prepaid. (b) determination, in the reasonable opinion of the Manufacturer, that there exists a defect in material or workmanship (c) the residential water boiler having been installed in a single family or two family residential dwelling. Repair or replacement of any part under this Limited Warranty shall not extend the duration of the warranty with respect to such repaired or replaced part beyond the stated warranty period. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND ALL SUCH OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE HEREBY DISCLAIMED AND EXCLUDED FROM THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE MANUFACTURER BE LIABLE IN ANY WAY FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE WHATSOEVER, OR FOR ANY AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF THE SELLING PRICE OF THE PRODUCT OR ANY PARTS THEREOF FOUND TO BE DEFECTIVE. 12 LIMITED WARRANTY Residential Cast Iron Steam Boilers One Year Warranty The Manufacturer warrants to the original owner at the original installation site that the Residential Cast Iron Steam Boiler (the Product ) will be free from defects in material or workmanship for one (1) year from date of installation. If upon examination by the Manufacturer the Product is shown to have a defect in material or workmanship during the warranty period, the Manufacturer will repair or replace, at its option, that part of the Product which is shown to be defective. Ten Year Warranty The Manufacturer further warrants to the original owner at the original installation site that the Product s cast iron sections will be free from defects in material or workmanship for ten (10) years from the date of shipment from the factory. If upon examination by the Manufacturer a cast iron section is shown to have a defect in material or workmanship during the warranty period, the Manufacturer will repair or replace, at its option, that part of the Product which is shown to be defective. This limited warranty does not apply: (a) if the Product has been subjected to misuse or neglect, has been accidentally or intentionally damaged, has not been installed, maintained or operated in accordance with the furnished written instructions, or has been altered or modifi ed in any way. (b) to any expenses, including labor or material, incurred during removal or reinstallation of the Product or parts thereof. (c) to any other cast iron parts of the boiler. (d) to burners, jackets, controls, and other auxiliary equipment furnished by the Manufacturer, but manufactured by others. Any warranties for such items shall be limited to those warranties offered by the original equipment manufacturer. (e) to damage as a result of settlement, distortion, collapse, or cracking of any foundation area, beams or pipes surrounding the Product. (f) to any workmanship of any installer of the Product; or to Products installed outside the continental United States or Canada. This limited warranty is conditional upon: (a) shipment, to the Manufacturer, of that part of the Product thought to be defective. Goods may only be returned with the prior written approval of the Manufacturer. All returns must be freight prepaid. (b) determination in the reasonable opinion of the Manufacturer that there exists a defect in material or workmanship. Repair or replacement of any part under this Limited Warranty shall not extend the duration of the warranty with respect to such repaired or replaced part beyond the stated warranty period.
