3 Introduction A perfect pen climate consists of many components. Some of the most important ones are air temperature, air speed, heat radiation and relative humidity. To be able to meet these requirements, the Sunline Agrartherm wing heating system was developed. Similar to the system of the sun, with this innovative heating system the heat is emitted to the ambience in the form of radiation heat. Thanks to this heat emission that is very similar to nature, a high level of comfort and a well-being climate is created in accordance with the species and age of the animals. The Sunline Agrartherm wing heating system supports the breeding, husbandry and care of commercial animals in an active, energy-saving and resource-saving way. 3

4 4 Product specification The Sunline Agrartherm wing heating system consists of 1.20 mm profiled steel sheet and is available in the standard design widths of 300 mm, 600 mm, 900 mm and 1,200 mm. Other design widths are available on request. Depending on the design widths, a corresponding amount of 3/4 inch precision steep tubes are welded into the steel sheet to conduct the water. The maximum design length of an Agrartherm element is 3,000 mm. To make longer belts, the elements are interconnected with press fitting. To comply with the most varied areas of application, the Agrartherm wing heating system is available in two designs. The first design consists solely of the steel sheet as well as tubes welded in and is connected with a hoist system. The hoist system enables the unilateral dropping of the element for easier cleaning, also on the plate top surface, and is therefore perfectly suitable for turkey or chicken fattening houses. The second design also consists of a steel sheet with precision steel tubes welded in. In addition, however, an insulation is inserted and the top end sealed with a cover sheet. This type of design is particularly suitable for breeding pens, milking systems and the like, as complete cleaning is also possible here. Every element of the above designs is fitted with an anti-corrosion coating at the plant and then a burning-in powder varnish is applied.

5 Areas of application The Sunline Agrartherm wing heating system was developed and fitted for as many areas of application as possible. The elements are used in nearly all areas of agriculture due to the high profitability and the hygienic benefits. 9 Fastening options Hanging of the plates Below are the most frequent fastening variants on concrete and steel ceilings as well as on trapezoid sheet ceiling constructions. Attachment to concrete ceilings with express anchor, M8 ring nut, M8 turnbuckle with eyelets, 500 mm link chain and 3 carabineer hooks. 10 10 Sample object milking parlour Milking parlour, Kerler family, Hausen A farmyard expansion and the increase of the dairy cattle stock to approx. 1,000 dairy cows initiated the Kerler family to build a new milking parlour with 60 places. The huge size of the milking parlour and the intention to save resources, also meant special requirements for the heating system. On the one hand, the heating capacity required must be provided without any problem and safely, on the other hand, however, the drying of the milking parlour after cleaning should also take place very quickly. Further requirements for the heating system were also a best possible profitability, the fact that it would not be notice by the animals and the option of being able to work with low starting temperatures, as a wood chips plant was already installed. All these requirements were fulfilled by the Sunline Agrartherm wing heating system. Within eight weeks from planning to completion of the installation, a total of 21 elements was installed in the shape of a fan with a console system above the milking parlour. The noise-less and odour-less operation of the wing heating system enabled reducing the socalled milk retention through stress impacts during the milking process.

11 Sample object turkey fattening house Turkey fattening house, Leppelmann family, Sundern The Leppelmann family business located in Sundern decided to fit its two turkey breeding pens with a total surface area of 1,700 sqm with a new, resource-saving heating system. An energy-efficient, hygienic and cost-effective heating system was to be installed. The Agrartherm wing heating system from Sunline was used, which can be easily and very thoroughly cleaned with its belts that can be lowered. The pen now has a high hygienic standard, without any draft and air dispersion, which has reduced the sickness and mortality rate of the animals. The ceiling radiation plates are supplied with energy using a wood chip plant operated with wood. The use of renewable energies is extremely suitable, as the ceiling radiation heating systems reach their heating capacity even at low temperatures. Despite the feed dispensing containers and troughs being anchored from the ceiling, it was easy to integrate the plates in the system. Within three weeks, the entire heating system of the turkey pen was refitted. The Leppelmann family now has a reliable heating system that adjusts optimally to the requirements, is operated with renewable energies and improves the health levels of the animals. 11
