1 MAG offers a wide range of pressure drop activated, continuous flow and electronic trap seal primers. Once a trigger occurs, trap seal primers release water that is piped to a trap primer connector on or near the trap of a drain being maintained. Replenishing the seal will prevent sewer or methane gas from entering the area through the floor drains. Primers are installed on the potable cold water supply line and react to water flowing in the line to trigger, either by turbulence or pressure drop. BENEFITS MRA500 Primer As little as a 21 kpa pressure drop in the plumbing line is needed for our MIFAB MRA500 primers to function. They function from 140kPa to 560 kpa in line pressure and deliver uniform amounts of water. Other brands need a pressure drop of 35 kpa before functioning. No air precharge required - MIFAB s primers can be dissembled in the field for cleaning and repair and then put back together. Other brands have an air pre-charge that once lost, the product cannot be used. Replaceable sediment filter and servicing. MIFAB s primers have a replaceable filter after wear and build-up of debris. It is press fit into the top primer. Other brands have a fixed filter in their body that can t be replaced and serviced. If their body is opened to examine the filter, the air pre-charge is lost and so the primer does not work. Trap Seal Primer Distribution Unit No adjustments required - the cartridge tube inside the MIFAB MRA500 primers has a partition moulded in place which determines the amount of water discharged from the primer. Other brands have primers that require adjustments to deliver different discharge amounts. Inter-changeable cartridge tubes. If an MRA500 is installed and even more water delivery is then needed, the MRA500 primer can be dissembled and the cartridge tube removed. A new cartridge tube with a partition moulded into it to deliver a greater amount of water can then be inserted. Overall height of our MIFAB MRA500 primers is lower than other brands - allowing for easier installation into the plumbing line in a retrofit situation. Electronic Priming System Four view holes (air gaps) in the bottom of the MIFAB MRA500 primers permits easy inspection of performance.

2 Pressure Drop Activated Trap Seal Primers Constant Water Seal in either a Single or up to 10 Floor Drain Traps MIFAB s MRA500 pressure drop activated trap seal primers are automatically activated with a pressure drop as little as 21 kpa (with today s low flow and consumption faucets, there is less pressure drop being created when faucets and toilets are used). The interior cartridge will rise due to the pressure differential within the primer and a metered amount of water is discharged under pressure into the plumbing line connected to the floor drain trap. 3 Trap Priming Distribution Units The MAG-MIFAB MI-DU Trap Seal Primer Distribution Unit can be installed underneath pressure drop activated trap seal primers to distribute water to up to ten floor drain traps that are near each other. Example application: when a men and women s restroom are located side by side with a common pipe chase between them so one trap seal primer with a distribution unit dialled to the 2 setting can service both floor drain traps. This eliminates a second costly installation procedure, shut off valve, access door and air gap fitting. MIFAB s distribution units are engineered so that they do not need to be installed level to distribute water evenly and can be adjusted to serve either two, three or four floor drain traps with a single unit. 4 Continuous Flow Trap Seal Primers Mechanical continuous flow trap seal primers are the original style of trap seal primers. They have a brass body with a neoprene rubber poppet float on the inside that rises upward as water flows through the primer. When the poppet rises off its seat, water flows from the primer, through the plumbing line connection and into the floor drain trap. Our MIFAB TSP-2 Series has threaded connections to be installed in a vertical position within the horizontal water supply line - at least 250mm above the floor drain trap. 5 MAG Electronic Trap Priming System Automatically maintain a Constant Water Seal in Traps Electronic trap seal primers to automatically maintain the water seal of floor drain traps - also available as a pre-plumbed/pre-assembled programmed electronic system. Designed and engineered at MAG s Australian factory with an approved vacuum breaker, solenoid valve operated by a timer, adjustable flush times, shut off valve for maintenance and a manifold system to distribute water evenly to floor drain traps. Applications include commercial buildings such as schools, hospitals, manufacturing facilities, and any other buildings that require floor drain trap seal protection.
