SAFE+ film is compatible with all AGC back-painted glass range (Mirox, Lacobel and Matelac) and FIX-IN products as set out in the FIX-IN Installation Guide available on To comply with European standard EN12600, the client must gain his own certification. This can be done automatically by purchasing ready-made back-painted SAFE+ film glass. These instructions will guide you through the storage, manual lamination and semi-automatic lamination processes and provide hints for the product's successful installation.

SAFE+ FILM LAMINATION INSTRUCTIONS For optimal adhesion, SAFE+ safety film should be applied to the back of the Mirox, Lacobel or Matelac glass using suitable machinery to avoid wrinkles and bubbles. Pressure of application is key to ensuring proper adhesion. Surfaces to be covered with SAFE+ film must be clean and free of dust, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) powder or oil. 9 Using a squeegee, press the SAFE+ film against the Mirox, Lacobel or Matelac glass, working from the centre to the periphery to remove any bubbles. Use the cutter to remove any excess SAFE+ film. The operation is easier if you use a simple laminating machine that unwinds and presses the SAFE+ film onto the surface of the glass. However, cutting will have to be done manually.

13 3. PRE-INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Make sure you always use FIX-IN SA surface activator when glass has AGC SAFE+ film on its back. Indeed FIX-IN SA is essential for ensuring the right surface tension (for optimal adhesion of the film). A special tester pen, the Quicktest38, can be used to check the surface tension. FIX-IN SA surface activator and Quicktest38 tester pens can be purchased on FIX-IN SA surface activator Quicktest38 A single stroke of the Quicktest38 tester pen will leave an unbroken full line on a material with a surface energy of ca. 38 mn/m or more, which should be the case when FIX-IN SA is applied. If the material's surface energy is less than ca. 38mN/m, the fluid in the pen will form small drops on the surface.
