2 People Love Plants In our line of work we see how people become attached to the plants near their desk and interact with them on a daily basis. There is a power in eternity, and it is green. Hildegard Von Bingen

3 But why do we feel good around nature? Biophilia Love of life or living systems - The human desire to be close to nature. The human mind is a product of the Pleistocene Age, shaped by wilderness that has all but disappeared. David W Orr Like all other creatures on earth, our prehistoric ancestors were born surrounded by nature but through evolution we have become removed by quite literally building concrete walls around ourselves. However our Reptilian (Prehistoric/Archaic) Brain still has the need to return from whence we came.

FACTS In stress accounted for 12.1 million working days absence of 31.2 million days lost overall in the UK. Nearly 80% of all people experience psychological and physical symptoms of stress and anxiety. Ficus Robusta (Rubber Plant) Research into the positive effects of plants on people suffering with stress and anxiety has been carried out worldwide, from Washington State University to Norway, The Netherlands and Australia. Potted indoor plants contain microbes in the soil known as OUTDOORPHINS. These beneficial bacteria are known to boost mood and reduce stress. Indoor plants release MOOD-BOOSTING COMPOUNDS into the air called phytonicides. These VOCs can be effective at enhancing our immunity.

10 So what else can plants do for us? Humans and plants have always had a close relationship. It, therefore, makes sense to use plants as therapeutic agents for treating humans.
