DEDICATION PROGRAMS Celebrating people, pets and place MARIN COUNTY PARKS D E D I C AT I O N P R O G R A M
MARIN COUNTY PARKS D E D I C AT I O N P R O G R A M About the Programs Marin County Parks values our regional parks for the combination of health, physical and social benefi ts they provide to the public. In addition to the scenery, exercise, wildlife and fresh air, parks provide a chance to connect to one another and the natural world. Marin County Parks offers several opportunities for community members to honor and celebrate loved ones within these favorite local areas. The Dedication Programs provide a variety of unique and creative options to express your connection to people, pets and place.
Dedication Tree and Ceremony Marin County Parks hosts a special donor-based Dedication Tree planting every year on Arbor Day. During this ceremony, the Marin County Poet Laureate commences the festivities with a poem reading. Donors may choose to participate by taking a turn planting the tree. With a donation of $ or more, donors can send or receive a personalized certificate, a limited-edition art print, an artist bio card, a poem card and an invitation to the planting ceremony for family and friends. The Keepsake Package makes a great gift for anniversaries, pet adoptions or honoring someone special. The next ceremony will be held on April 27, 2018 at noon. Dedication Sculpture Garden The Civic Center Lagoon Park is a favorite community spot in San Rafael to connect with nature and be physically active. A Dedication Sculpture Garden will be constructed at the park in The Lagoon fountains, shade trees, and benches create a quiet place for reflection. Flowering plants in the garden provide habitat for Marin s threatened butterflies. The garden will also feature a bronze sculpture that highlights the flora and fauna of Marin. With a donation of $1, or more, donors will receive a personalized certificate, and a Dedication Stone with an engraved name installed in the garden.
Healing Garden and Art Wall Hal Brown Park at Creekside offers some of the best views of Mount Tamalpais and provides a treasured place for walking along the marshland. The proximity to Marin General Hospital creates a fitting location for a relaxing and restorative Healing Garden. A walking meditation labyrinth will be constructed in May 2018 and an art wall will be designed and added in Photo Billy Hustace With a donation of $ or more, donors will receive a nameplate on the colorful art wall. * Photo is representative only. Mosaic Nature Garden The Mill Valley/Sausalito Multiuse Pathway attracts cyclists, dog walkers, joggers, horses and wheelchair users. The busy junction at Sycamore Avenue is an ideal location to slow down and take a break. A site specific mosaic will be constructed at the roundabout resting spot in The artwork will be inspired by the environment and nature of Northern California. With a donation of $ or more, donors will receive a name printed on a tile integrated into the mosaic. * Photo is representative only.
Dedication Program Locations The Marin County Parks Dedication Program offers several popular settings that provide a place of rest and natural beauty for park users while creating a quiet spot for contemplation and remembrance. In addition, it provides opportunities for commemorating someone special. 1. Lagoon Park, Civic Center 2. Lagoon Park, Civic Center 3. Hal Brown Park, Kentfi eld 4.
